- Many of us have this issue when collecting and for some, it takes time to make these tough decisions. Others will laugh at us while others cringe. We finally decided and it was a lot easier than I thought and it feels so good!.

lol I knew it! Awesome video JB love the "flip" lol! You're killing it brother!
Haha, just saying goodbye to cardboard haha. Thanks for watching brother 🤙🏽
That’s liberating. I kept all of mine too with an idea to make a mural or something but I think you have the right idea.
If you have the time for the mural, absolutely! I just don’t haha. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
My attic is filledddddd with a lot of empty toy boxes. Some boxes are just too nice to throw out and hard to sell off at the same time. The early Black Series boxes were ALL crap and easly ripped them up for trash!
Man I feel you. I had attic and garage filled.
I've been collecting 34 years, and most of my toys are in 3 places..two toy rooms and the garage in tubs and footlockers. I've thrown away some boxes damaged or not interested in keeping, but most everything I have are still in boxes and cards..but I do have massive loose collection. I do have the original 80s Transformers Generation 1 boxes, however I chopped them all down and cut the end flaps off and threw them away. It does take up space, but I have displays, banners and empty boxes, Cereal boxes advertising Star Wars or other movies, Puzzle boxes, boxes that hold those Star Wars plushies you might see at Target. One day, I'll do a full video of my collection on my UA-cam channel when I get everything out and displayed. I just don't currently have the space.
Sorry to see, you had to throw away those boxes to eliminate clutter...but I guess it had to be done.
I am an in-box figure collector but, I keep all the boxes of the few things that are displayed just in case I decide to sell them down the line. It definitely is an OCD thing and really annoying. LOL
lol, all good. It’s tough to throw out anything but sometimes I gotta let it go haha. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
i cut up the boxes for bookmarks and to save come cool images to cover a wall/ceiling in a collage some day.
@@evergreen8509 I do the same thing with everything:) glad to know it's not just me lol
@evergreenscrapbook. put the cards in those plastic comic book covers and then put them in scrapboxes.
I cut them up, put them in those plastic bags and boards used for comic books, then put the bags in a scrapbook.
man great idea!! Thanks! 🤙🏽
I used to be an in box collector but I switched to opening and displaying figures after the first 10 years of collecting because it saves so much space, there is after all a limit to what we can collect and space is valuable and like JB I have no intention of selling any of my stuff anyway, I used to have a garage full of boxed toys before I donated them all to charity and honestly it’s such a weight off not having to pay storage costs and not having this mountain of stuff wasted and not being enjoyed.
Agree with the space, we have to conserve space for sure. I donate a lot and still had to make more room. Keep collecting and ENJOY!!! Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
The earlier Gi Joe Classified boxes are much harder to throwaway because of the glamorous window display, stylish art work on the side panel and neat back poster that it makes each one a work of art you want to keep for your personal toy room display. That's why I started throwing away the windowless ones first, especially the large vehicle sets like the Cobra Stinger because its just digital renders that look flat and uninteresting. Also I prefer opening and displaying my figures for fun so it feels liberating not having to worry about losing more space on your shelf. The only Classified boxes I intend to keep are Haslabs, Pulse exclusives and sealed minted figures. Very relieved you went through a similar process as I did and have a great day!
I’m with you on this. Did the same thing. What a wonderful way to enjoy the collection.
@@GridlockRosa-lw2il awesome. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
I definitely keep some of my boxes not for resale, I don't buy items to sell especially if I have a figure that comes with a lot of accessories I leave in the box so I won't lose them.
Yeah I did that for awhile, keeping accessories in box but even that got crazy lol. If I had more room without taking over the rest of the house I’d do it lol.
Kudos brother!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thats my dilemma, I’m both in box & out box collector but i keep all the boxes, they take a lot of space yet i cant seem to let go….
Yeah thats what I do, some opened some not.
Thanks again for watching!! The things we do lol 🤙🏽
Bro, I’m doing that now. I use my free days (two days per week) for this and I’m in my THIRD WEEK. Nice to know I’m not alone.
Haha wow! … it’s somewhat terrifying and therapeutic at the same time lol. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
You only live once , so definitely enjoy your figures. Out of the box .instead of them being locked up somewhere and forgotten .you can't fully appreciate them until they are out if the box I was also done with my boxes too so it was a good move . My friend 👍.
Can’t argue there. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Hahaha crazy!
Bro i don’t take any of the figures out of the box, I’m saving my collection for my baby , maybe in 20 years from now we will be in a different era where all this will be gone and it might be worth it for my kid.
That’s awesome. Collect now and lean towards a happy future. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
I’m not an in box collector, but Classified boxes display so well on shelf. Happy for your liberation.
The new Dreadnock box for Torch looks Reallyyyy nice and said wow when i saw that! All my star wars Black series boxes are crap
Appreciate you watching 🤙🏽
Empty boxes belong in the recycle bin,
Maybe… But maybe not😉
Absolutely. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
@@louisgrey96 recycling is a feel good scam. It does absolutely nothing to help the environment. Do some research and don’t just believe what they teach people. Definitely don’t try to correct people when when you don’t know what you are talking about.
I just put mine in the dumpster.
they could have still been use for something 🤔maybe some collage art or use the cardboard to build something there is people that built stuff with cardboard. Even recycling stuff has value and purposes. I know people make spaceships 🚀 out of everyday items from plastic.
Cleaning house! Great video JB. I saw some packaging of stuff I have yet to collect! I'm still the inbox collector but respect your loose collecting!
Haha thanks my friend. It was tough, especially the Black Series and Joe boxes … but space is valuable and I know you appreciate that. Hope all is well, our BEST to you and yours 🤙🏽
Like the music 🎵 hascrap should immediately set up a site showcasing all the box art for every line!!!
A much needed to see video... me and my wife are looking for a house and I have a mini collection going on myself and I have a mix of DC Marvel and Joe's.... the Marvel and DC boxes I'll probably keep, but as far as Joe's Boxes I'm probably going to end up trashing them
Thanks man! I still have a good amount of boxes left but no room haha. 🤙🏽
Great job!!! Feels so liberating clearing out the boxes!!
Thanks brother! Tons of cardboard weight off our chest and more space for more figures haha. 🤙🏽
Great vid!! But I am an “in box collector” 😅 sealed preferably. As books are now readable on your kindle or ipad, i showcase my dc’s, gijoe, marvel, neca as books. More like my library of toys😎
When you said, "they belong in a landfill." I thought you were talking about Dunno Pops. LoL
lol… that was a HOT MESS! But, they honestly saved in money for storage space … crazy to think that lol. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Edit You got me. I thought you were throwing out unopened toys. Lol. I was so mad ....All I could think was how christmas toy drives start in a month and they start taking toy donations. I mean they are still in the box. I know you are thinking " but these are adult collectibles" but man I d be stoked to get one of these if I was a kid. With so many people struggling after the hurricane I m sure they could have used them. At minimum I m sure you could have just found a place that take donations without the toy drive aspect. I get that selling them might be a hassle but ...I mean how cool would it have been if you got them into the hands of some kids. Pisses me off to be honest. They were still in the box and they were awesome toys a lot of kids/parents would never have been able to afford. It would have made a way more click bait/feel good video too!!! Please please consider for next time if there is one.
I was going to do a video like this too. I wanted to keep the art from the windowless box and make a "collage picture" frame. After looking at them, I was never going to set time aside. hahahah so I decided to throw them away. It does feel so much better because I have more space.
I had the same ideas and same thing here … when and where haha. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
And I love how your wife goes action figure collecting with you. I asked my girl she said yes, she'll do it with me too, so thank you.
Man that’s awesome!! Hunting with the better half is always a blast! 🤙🏽
My soul was hurt. I love breaking down boxes. Haha. I was saving my Classified and ML VHS boxes to display, but it wasn’t gonna happen. Happy for you
Thanks my friend. Pros and cons to all we do and I’m sure I’ll be at another crossroads sooner than later haha 🤙🏽
Toys for Tots would have loved your stuff. Kids that don’t have anything come Christmas time sure miss stuff like this. Maybe next time?.
We donate a lot to toys for tots and I actually oversee our work centers effort every year. These were empty boxes that I needed to clear. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
@@jbstoytrunk That's great to hear. Totally misunderstood.👍
I just got the Jada Toys Street fighter figures and the boxes look realyyyy nice to look at.
Yeah, those boxes are really nice. Jada is doing it right!
Thanks for the great video. Man, do I wrestle with this one....Keep the box, store it, take up lots of space....or do I get rid of them, and have more room for my collection? I've starting cutting the bubbles off of my Vintage Collection & retro openers, and just keeping the card-backs. However, i still have way too much in storage totes. Time for some hard decisions.
Yeah I’ve kept 90+% of my on card figs but even that’s getting out of hand lol. Thanks for watching and good luck haha 🤙🏽
I don't have many figures, but the boxes DO take like a corner of wall😅. But maybe one day I will liberate my self from packages. Lol. I think I'm ok on space. 4 now. Lol. But if I needed space , I would get rid of most of the boxes.😊
Getting in the way of more toys haha. 🤙🏽
I have a question about preorders. Are they a good idea, or should I just wait until they solidify into market?
Hey sorry for not getting to you sooner. I think preorders are ok if you can’t get out or have a good opportunity to grab a good deal. For example Target has a good sale on toys and sometimes they may only have online. Thanks for watching and great question. 🤙🏽
@@flashgordo9485 Preorders are good for limited edition items. But most 90 percent of collectors stuff no. And 50 percent of collectors items you will find on sale or eventually on clearance. Especially with the bad economy and SUPER INFLATION. Don't be played by collectors market. All hype to push sales at full retail be well and ALWAYS be a smart 🤓 collector.
Good video bro. You got us all 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
You could have put your boxes in the attic lol 😂
@@JoePal-c3n thanks for watching. I have some up there but don’t need trash in the attic
Man JB. I’ve been looking at my boxes and thinking the same thing. Smh. It’s just so hard to start chucking them. lol 😂
It’s tough! So many great artwork and nostalgic feels. But, it’s something we all go through haha. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Whats the excuse we all use not to trash the damn boxes everywhere...ya but i got the accessories in them 😅😂😂 buy a damb bin from target and put every accessory in that .
Haha thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Funny, I started to throw all my domestic packaging away, clipped the titles and art(💔), as I'm getting closer to having less boxes, it gets harder to throw away. So I repackaged some figures.
It’s definitely a battle for most of us. A lot of great art work which in my opinion is priceless. I appreciate all the artists but at the same time hard to display and keep them all lol. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Haha ooh u scared me for a second JB 🤣🤣😆👌🏽 yeah I’ve kept some boxes. I donated a lot of my huge boxes to a local toy shop. But if I display the classified figures, I’m chucking the boxes. 😆👌🏽
lol! I thought about donating but no one in area had interest. Thanks for watching my friend 🤙🏽
Did you get rid of the toys or the empty boxes.
They were empty boxes.
NOW it's a good time to ask dHunter the same question
Haha thanks for watching 🤙🏽
💪😎 I threw away a lot of my boxes in the attic about 6 months ago. 🤜🤛
It’s tough but sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do lol. Thanks for watching and Have a great weekend 🤙🏽
I understand completely and I'm an in box collector. If your not in only makes sense.😊
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Bro gave me a heart attack for a sec 😭 I thought the toys were in there
Man I’m sorry haha. I’d easily giveaway before I throw them lol. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
I too finally got rid of all my boxes. The only boxes I have kept are the exclusive boxes, hot toys and my mondo boxes
Great idea! I still have a lot of nice boxes, but the common ones I definitely chucked. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
that was cute, i lost my mind, lol
lol thanks for watching 🤙🏽
I toss the boxes. I barely have room for my collection as it is 😅.
lol EXACTLY! Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Im a inbox collector, and I didn't know if I was an invester or collector, but ive come to terms that I collect but1day they will be sold,i still love finding my things in store and it still makes my adrenaline flow, but. Not taking them out of box can suck wen it's the perfect figure,I collect gj joe, starwars lego, marvel Legends, starwars black series , transformers,DC McFarland, other lego and a few other things😮with investments,i killed it in starwars lego,i must be very smart or lucky
Wow a lot of lines! And yes, some of them are hunted down harder than others. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Best troll video ever... 😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤓
Whooooa ya had me scared there bud!! 😂
Haha, sorry bro. I appreciate you and hope all is well my friend 🤙🏽
I keep the boxes for my Macross valks. Everything else gets thrown out.
I hear you. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Dude I did the same thing about 3-4 months ago. It was liberating. And space saving.
Hey my brother! I agree 💯 It’s tough but for the modern figs, and as many lines as we collect, I just couldn’t hold on. No more room lol. Have a great weekend brother 🤙🏽
I have a few Black Series figures that have some nice box art and hard to decide to trash them off. No ones going to buy them
Great job bro that was straight facts if you resell how much will the box add I had figures for sell people wasn’t buying I took them out the box and drop the price of the figure by $2 dollars and they sold like hot cakes 🤙🏽
Thanks my brother. I’ve been weighing the pros and cons and right now had to let it go haha 🤙🏽
O they are empty, breaking my brain. I didn't see they where empty.
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Y not flatten them and fit all of them in a1ft stack? Im in box myself but some I have out and star wars.black series and marvel legends both fold down and makes it so much easier Nd it doesn't mess the box up
You hope they get away from haslab?!?!? What?!?! Haslabs are truly beautiful works of art man ….Especially by G.I. Joe classified team….. Lenny and his team are cranking out some of the best stuff ever😃👍
Dude I was getting ready to say you could have donated those to a church or for under privileged children to have a Christmas! Bro I was getting a lil heated 😜 You got me!
Oh I definitely give away a lot of toys I don’t need or use. Those boxes can be only fun for cats in my opinion lol. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
I kind of the boxes didn’t had great artwork, design, coloring stuff which that’s what makes us want to keep the box, yes they take a lot of space, i think that the companies if they didn’t made the boxes so glamorous they could reduce the price of the figure at least a couple of bucks, because that way they don’t have to pay toy photography, designer
Great points and there have been some packaging that are definitely worth keeping. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Box drama been there. I started to think like this buy less buy what you really like to enjoy on display.
Yeah, best option is to be efficient with purchases. I have issues lol. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
😂
Dam that hurt me, as u know me jb, ima in box collecter.
Haha, I’m sorry my friend. Had to lol. Hope all is well brother 🤙🏽
curious why you didn't try to sell them, I would think some people out there would want them
I thought about it but with modern and a lot of it plastic free … I didn’t think it’d be worth the time and hassle. The last place I went to actually said they were taking my loose out the box and chucking the boxes. Definitely different if they were sought after or vintage. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Dang I just seen some dude sold all his empty classified box’s and got $200 for them
kinda silly you didn't just put that boxes in you attic. You might regret that when you get sick of the line and wanna off load it in a couple years! its your boxes to throw away though!
That’s been my thought for awhile now but with a recent trade of a lot of opened boxes, they didn’t care if I had the boxes or not. I can’t play the what if ladder for years and waste valuable space. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Mostly in box at this point only due to not having a space to display them. The only thing I would have done differently if dumping boxes would have been to remove the artwork on the side and back of some of those Joe boxes. Those could easily be stored in sleeves like they sell for bookmark collectors.
I thought about that but the time, and space was pushing me and the household towards getting rid of them. I still have a ton of cards I may do that with. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
The weather matches the sad event
I store in Box, display out of box.... so it takes up tons of space
I hear you! Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
For a moment I thought he was getting rid of his MISB collection.
Haha, NO way … thanks for watching 🤙🏽
So I cut the front off and I make a wall art out of them
MOTU Art is next level🤙🏽
So this is how far I got. 0:45 Go check on your birds, then.

Its still hard to do what u did though. 😕 imagine a dumpster diver seeing this thinking he scored the mother load 😅

Damn i need so many of the boxes man lost alot in a fire wit all my sports cards..i would buy them u coulda traded toy federation for some figs
Oh man sorry to hear that. I’ll definitely consider it next time. I appreciate you stopping by and watching 🤙🏽
I recycle all my boxes that arent in box collected.
That’s awesome! I spent the whole day removing plastic, and separating cardboard. Then dumped it. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽

Boxes were clearly empty
Yup, thanks for watching 🤙🏽
I was like WHAAAAT????????????
Haha thanks for watching 🤙🏽
I sure hope those where only empty boxes because you could have donated it if it was toys
Yup, 100% empty.
Oh, i thought u throw the action figure, yeah i agree with you, throw the box and card board
Thanks for watching. It was tough, really no room lol 🤙🏽
What's up, JB? 😱 You got me there Buddy for a Moment and thought you really gave up Collecting! And you made a Decision, Throwing away your Entire Boxes of Figures, in the Dumpster! As a Matter of Fact in Reality, Last Minute of Toy Reviewing, you said those Boxes were Empty after all! Forgive me Friend for the Misunderstanding! 😂😂👍👍
Man I’m sorry haha. Just had to come to the tough decision of cardboard haha. I appreciate you watching and have a great weekend 🤙🏽
@@jbstoytrunk It's always my Pleasure, Buddy! And Thanks I'll do that! 😎🤘
Dude u could of sold all that to a store for money or credit as they have loads of Opened figs that need box's. Doh
I had that idea but at this time no one is looking for those boxes. The one store I traded/sold with took the boxes I had with my trades and chucked them. No real value for them. But, if there’s a market for them absolutely try and recoup some money.
I was hoping it would be just boxes.
Haha, thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Need to throw some boxes away
Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
Nooooooo, give it to me.😮
Gotta toss em
Chuck em! 🗑️♻️
Empty boxes? That's what you clickbaited with?
Shame on me.
Ok …
Except now your figs are worth far, far, less [No Boxes]. So when its time to sell, you're gonna get even less w/ out the boxes. If your gonna get rid of the box, get rid of the figure as well.
Toys are for displaying at home
I agree, let them breathe
You think so? The figures to me are worth more out of box … can’t play with a box or take good pics with them. Also, once they’re open … they’re a loose figure. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽
