as a raptor fan born in 1993, this whole ceremony was amazingly well done. never in my life would i have ever thought i would shed tears at anything vince carter related but here we are. this man truly cared so much about the city, country and franchise. the fact hes so emotional about it....
@ bozo. I probably know much more about it then you, I lived through it as a fan. We had terrible management at the time and gm was a complete tool. Don’t read into any of the nonsense out there and realize the facts smh
@@Jordanbiggs1473facts are he gave up on the raps. Doesn't take away from the impact he had, but he's not universally loved by raps fans for a good reason.

If it wasn't for Vince Carter, Raptors would have been sold to another US city just like the Vancouver Grizzlies. Every Canadian basketball player credits Vince Carter of the rise of basketball in Canada, even the legendary Canadian himself Steve Nash.
fr, everytime I saw one of the old head Raps fan comment like "What has he ever done for the city? He gave up on us." Literally we might not have an NBA franchise in Toronto if it weren't for this man, that kept generating hype for the team.

I'm from Argentina 🇦🇷 and I had a Vince Carter poster on my bedroom when I was younger. Vince was a phenomenal player. He really deserve to have his jersey hanging on the rafters
Yes sir was nice to have him play on the mavericks even though he wasn’t in his prime, man he would still have flashes of his greatness when playing in Dallas look up some highlights if you don’t believe me
Love that theres a beautiful iconic poster of Vince along with his jersey number. Sometimes I see all those jersey's hanging in the celtics and lakers rafters and have no clue what half the players up there even looked like. Its just a bunch of names and numbers to me. But with Vince, even if 3 or 4 generations pass by, people will always have a way to know how their legend looked just by looking at his jersey in the rafters and get a glimpse into one of his most iconic moments.
wow, im 40 years old and started watching NBA in 1995-96 and was a Kobe and Jordan boy. Vince started in 98 and was always there and always competing!!! One of the real OGs. Much of love and respect!
The amount of people this man inspired to play the game is crazy. I live in England where being a basketball fan is very rare, players like Vince Carter are the reason my friends and I are all fans of basketball now.
A few years ago I went to a Hawks game and Vince Carters slam at the end of the game for his 25000th career point put me in ovation and made my time better and they were actually playing against the Raptors too. Happiest wishes to VC
This is the Raptors GOAT right here folks! And the most electrifying player to witness during his prime. Every game there was a guaranteed highlight reel. Thanks for all the great memories Vince! Good on the organization for doing this.
thans for thebest dunk i never seee in my life.... in olimpics..... thanx for all inspiration !!! thanx for that all night shows !!! Velociraptor and AirCanada!!!
When I was a 13 year old in Canada having faced the laughing stock that was the grizzlies , I couldn’t believe highlights of this guy his first 10 games . He dunked all over everyone in the first game but it just repeated , and it never stopped . It was truly surreal to have a talent like this is in Canada . You’ve seen the result in Toronto hoops since then as well
Not gon lie I got emotional watching this. Congrats Vince Carter on an amazing career. I remember as a kid in 4th grade watching Vince take over the league by storm, having no doubt that he was the next MJ based on how he performed on a nightly basis. Now here we are 25 years later. Man time flies.
You could tell this meant a great deal to him than the jersey retirement he got from the Nets. He really did put Toronto on the map as far as NBA Basketball is concerned, they just didn’t part ways amicably. Beef is now officially SQUASHED.
I have a friend who used to play basketball with me and he always traveled and someone created a nickname for him “ Half man Half travel” everybody exploded in laughter.
Air Canada, Half Man - Half Amazing, Vinsanity. "Did you see VC?" Vincent Lamar Carter Jr. Vince Carter. Forever my GOAT. A legend. You truly deserve this. 🥲
That Banner is phenomenal
THAT IS HOW YOU HONOR PLAYERS MIAMI
Yeah I like this more than those plain rags with names and numbers.
It is similar to the Leafs banners.
