    Hey, Kurt, sometime when you are in Huntingburg, you need to go visit the baseball field that the movie, "A league of their own" was filmed. It was built specifically for that movie, but the Huntingburg Bombers use the field each season. It's a throwback type of ballpark. Enjoy!!

    On the done light,put a red bulb in the socket or replace it with a fixture that will go back and forth between red and bright white.
    The reason for the red light is that it doesn't affect your night vision as much as white light does.

    Had blind loads too.. bizarre.. and they'll pay top dollar for that according to my dispatcher.. now over the years the biggest surprise no one ever told me about was lumpers.. backed into a dock with grocery load and guy walks up and Said , "ok that'll be $200" I remember laughing in his face thinking it was a legit joke ... but it wasn't.. well called dispatch cuz I didn't have 20$ back then...

      Also swap your map / big sleeper light with red covers or red lights and at night it'll help light up and keep you alert .. that's what I do... research ww2 fighter pilot red lights ... when your brain sees red at night it alerts your senses without even knowing it... blue on the other hand makes you sleepy..

    back when I was on the road I was told that blind loads were loads that come from different shippers then who the receiver bought the load from and that is why we had to carry blank bills of ladding it usually happens when the original shipper has a breakdown or runs out of that particular product and so they don’t want the receiver to know where the load actually came from possibly because they might start a bidding war and lose that customer

I learned to call it the ride height control way way back when I was an 18 year old working on GM & MCI intercity coaches & in fact think GM & MCI referred to them as such. Anyway-only a year or so before ya gotta change it out-that is LOUSY.

    Blind loads have usually been sold by a broker. So the manufacturer knows who they're selling it to, the delivery point know who they've bought it from but the broker is terrified that they ever find out who each other is, then they can talk to each other and cut the broker out.
    Many years ago, when Poland was still a communist country, I'd gone to near Warsaw from Manchester with my powder tank (kerching). In those days, there was very little coming out of the Eastern block, especially in a tank. Anyhow, we found a load from Poland to the Netherlands, but it was a blind brokered load owned by a dealer in Switzerland, at one point in the trip I had three sets of paperwork and customs papers for it, one from Poland to Switzerland, which the sender could see, one from Switzerland to Holland for the delivery point, although I didn't go anywhere near Switzerland and one which told the truth to show German customs so I could transit Germany to get from Poland to Holland. I had to get all three documents customs cleared to keep everybody happy. It took 14 hours to get it through the Polish/German border with quite a bit of ingenuity/lying on my part. Happy days.

  • @tommygibs1381
    @tommygibs1381 Рік тому

    Blind loads is how brokers are driving down rates. If you look. The bol says the load is going farther than your taking it. Example. Load going from Chicago to Las Angeles. But your actually taking it to Denver. Now brokers can say this is what a load from Chicago to LA is paying.
