😲 OMG I wish I knew this years back. I was traumatized by how I started learning math. I didn't understand the way I was taught so I felt perpetually lost. This had me excited to do math for the first time in MANY YEARS! Thank you for sharing!
I never had much trouble multiplying by 11 before I got Trachtenberg's book. A) Write down the number. B) Write 0 under the last digit. C) Write the number again, but in front of the 0. D) Add columns together. Strictly speaking, Trachtenberg method uses the same method, but uses less paper.
5:30 the given was right but in letter be it's change in 80 in the end so I was confuse at first. but come on guys their just human and human make mistakes. thanks for this. we had to leard this method because of our project in math so please when you post a video make sure that the numbers or what you're saying was correct so that the viewers will not be confuse. just a friendly advise! thanks!!!❤
I've had the book for years I kinda stole from my dad's library as a kid. Recently revisiting this material. On your check for 11's does this only apply to 3 digit multipliers? because it doesn't seem to hold for the other examples you give. Thanks!
at 5:30 you put the practice problems the first say 11 x 9813840 which equals 107952240 then when u give the answers it is 11 x 981380 which equals as you stated in the video 10795180 so which one was the real practice problem
Simply Shaynah He put a and b as in the first one was problem a and the second one was problem b. Think of them like problem one and two. It wasn't multiple choice.
The "check" given for multiplication by 11 does not work in all cases. If the leading digit of the multiplicand is a 9, and the following digit is anything but a 0, the leading digit of the product will not be a 9, for example.
Idk what's wrong but the answer the the 11 x 9813840 is 107952240, atleast that's i got from the calculation. And u showed answer 10795180 someone tell me, because Rn im confused who's answers right.

I feel so HAPPY , it's like a new achievement is unlocked in my life . THANKS !

why not having tutorials for 5, 8&9 , 4, multiplication by other digits and the direct method?
Also, your final problem is first posed as "11 x 9813840" but then you give the answer for "11 x 981380"!
+whpalmer4 well spotted! I've made a correction to the video. Thanks
Can you please continue these videos? Everybody else that tries makes no sense.
oh, god and i thought I got it wrong >-< but I got it right, thanks for noticing that ^-^
107952240?
I was asking myself how I came up with original multiplicand! Thanks
The check doesn’t always work. 11 x 4567 is 50237. The 7 matches but the 5 doesn’t match the 4.
Yes I noticed that to wen I was doing the exercise I taught I got a wrong answer but wen I cross checked on calculator I found out I was correct
I think if the digit before 0 is 10 and over the check doesn't work
Thanks so much for your videos!

It's called a typo lol
correction for letterB. it supposed to be 11x9813840 = 107952240
Thanks I thought I got it wrong then noticed the mistake.
Thank you so much dear
Has your website been suspended?
Bro pls continue this lesson
There seems to be a relatively simple way to do this from left to right also. I'm pretty new to this though

+whpalmer4 Thanks for pointing this out, you are correct, I've added an annotation to the video.
Great video
i just love it so cool man
The website is not working, please provide me a working link, God bless you!

Does anyone know where I can learn more about this
Pearl Sayarath yeah Ik 😭

Sasuke Sarutobi Thank you very much
Why don't they teach this in school?
Austin Vawter (tongue-in-cheek) because it develops your mind, and that creates problems for the state later on...
Again the method i already use is much quicker and easier then this
Can I know what yours is?
