There will never be a voice like Billy’s again he was a one off a fellow Dondonian such a shame they never made it big time because Bill didn’t like touring
@@rw8733 despite your much-appreciated reverence for a great singer - I really do think someone brave enough COULD potentially make this tune THEIR own. They just have to be brave enough, and distinctive enough! Even, to be MORE challenging, how about a FEMALE attempting this!? You would be hard put to, to imagine, my mate's SISTER sings ELVIS at karaoke - and it works! DEEJAYENPS
@@nygelmiller5293 Hi Nygel. I'm intrigued by your comment. I have been trying to think of an artist who might be able to cover the vocal but nobody springs to mind. Do you have any ideas? It's an interesting thought. 🤔 👍🤓
@@rw8733 we really need to discuss WHO could be a Billy Mackenzie sounds like! I'm afraid I have probably TOO MANY ideas for just ONE lifetime. Inventor, Health Researcher, Song Writer. DISCO Club designer, and I've reached 70 now - and may therefore, realistically not achieve SOME of my many ideas! BUT I do want, time allowing to do a play involving actors playing a number by The associates. The band could really play - but as you say, finding someone who could SING in the same style as Billy Mac Kenzie might be difficult. Why don't you advertise in the music press, for a "soundalike" - and let hopefuls COME TO YOU? I really would love you to keep me posted about your excellent plans! I'll give you my email address. This is just (slightly) confusing. I changed the spelling of my name to NYGEL (with a Y), to make it more individual! BUT, although the NHS are fine about it, my email address is still NIGEL with an "i". Here goes: nigelsworld@hotmail.co.uk. Good luck with your idea!
Absolutely incredible tune, which I've already loved for years! I suddenly thought, that even without the undoubtedly remarkable vocals of Billy Mackenzie, I would like to know what such a strong tune would sound like AS AN INSTRUMENTAL! Well, of course, now I know! I thought I would just type Party Fears Two - (INSTRUMENTAL), on the keypad of my smartphone, and see if anything came up! So I really am a happy bunny! Did The Associates themselves release this version, or has someone else put this version together? It's just INCREDIBLE. DEEJAYENPS

I kinda feel this was a punky scottish take on Abba (written in ‘77) It feels visceral and beautiful, strawberries laced with acid. But it echoes that swedish genius also. Associates always had killer basslines.
Bassline is stellar
No one else ever sounded like The Associates.
Ridiculously good.
Bass is amazing. What a track.
The bass line in this really stands out...Insanely good.
Baseline is Awesome 🎸
To Rab Bruce - YES incredible bass, and also remarkable keyboard. WELL, it's a remarkable BAND! DEEJAYENPS
Epic. Just epic.
I was 17. Takes me back in time.
God bless Bill
God rest his soul. Still sadly missed.😢
You will never get a great tune like this again it’s a ☝️ aff
So true. It's fantastic 👏
I really love it.
very cool
When this came out, it was a sensation. I was 17 and I'd never heard anything like it before ... or since.
Just Superb...Thank You for putting this on.
Beautiful tune remarkably even without Billy’s magical voice
There will never be a voice like Billy’s again he was a one off a fellow Dondonian such a shame they never made it big time because Bill didn’t like touring
R.I.P. Billy. Nobody else could ever sing this.

Awesome bass…RIP lads 🙏
Even in the instrumental I hear Billys fantastic voice ❤ R.I.P lads 👍
Thanks for revealing its intricacies
My favorite part of this song is the part at 1:01 - 1:16. It sounds so heavenly sublime.

I'll have a shower
And then phone my brother up
Within the hour
I'll smash another cup
Please don't start saying that
Or I'll start believing you
If I start believing you
I'll know that this Party Fears Two
And what if this Party Fears Two?
The alcohol loves you while turning you blue
View it from here
From closer to near, awake me
Don't turn around
I won't have to look at you
And what's not found
Is all that I see in you
My manners are failing me
I'm left feeling ugly
And you say it's wonderful
To live with I never will
So what if this Party Fears Two?
The alcohol loves you while turning you blue
View it from here
From closer to near, awake me
I'm standing still
And you say I dress too well
Still standing still
I might but it's hard to tell
Even a slight remark
Makes nonsense and turns to shark
Have I done something wrong?
What's wrong's the wrong that's always in wrong
It's sort of like strawberries and cream, without the cream.
Superb. Now try singing to it you just can't can you?
After the famous intro without Billy's voice the song appears to just stop until it gets back to the repeat
Weekending....
