  • A searingly passionate poem of devotion to the One Spirit in Her/His thousand names, composed by the great medieval saint of India, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. A renowned scholar and pundit as a very young man, he had a devotional awakening, abandoned his learning, and wandered from village to village throughout India, chanting the name of Lord Krishna. All who chanted with him were said to experience his blissful ecstasy. Settling finally in the holy city of Puri, he sparked a devotional awakening throughout India. The Hare Krishna movement (Ishkon) traces their lineage to this great saint, who is revered as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Devotees of all religions may draw inspiration from this passionate lover of God.
