I wasn't expecting that and was shocked to see that myself but it might be because people wanted to witness something that probably wouldn't happen in the next 100 years and therefore the people would get to be part in that historic event. This might not be the real reason but the crowd was supporting him from the first point itself.

wow, I did not think that Ruud could be so effective playing so much defense against Bublik. Ruud apparently can run enough balls down to make it work. Bublik is a shot maker with a big serve, powerful groundstrokes and good drop shots but he also can make the occasional unforced error.

He can hit the ball very hard if he wants to but he simply has a lot of fun hitting weak balls and then running down his opponent's shots. Any tennis coach will tell him to stop goofing around and play more forcefully. He did exactly that near the end of the match. His final shot was so hard that Kecmanovic did not even get anywhere close to it.

The fact that he was a break up 3-4 with realistic chances to win the set, but had to take inflammation pills before serving at 3-4 and lost 9 games in a row after that was really frustrating
