    Apologies for any pronunciation errors!
    INTRO SONG: ua-cam.com/video/YsiOpg7mDCU/v-deo.html
Also: The potion could have easily contained other substances like salvia, peyote, or mushrooms, it would have been really difficult for a rural police department to discern its contents. I can also see how American newspapers might want to demonise marijuana.

Also, and I don't know Datura from experience ftr, I've heard that group use of Datura is beyond surreal - a dream state where people enter each other's dreams in some sort of partial waking state. Great job on this story! I've heard the story a couple different times and you're right; every other time I've heard this story, I heard it as the brothers were the one to start the cult and they went and found Magdalena as a prostitute and brought her back. It makes much more sense now the way you're talking about it! Thank you very much and you earned yourself a new subscriber!❤

born into a tiny Mexican farming village where all there is to do is work all day for just enough food to keep you from starving, you vaguely know about your native heritage and your only experience with religion are probably horrible catholic priests from the country that took over your people and put you on this farm, probably illiterate, never went to school, marjauana "mystic potions" would probably help too, a "promise of god-hood/ascension" probably doesn't sound /that/ bad

It seems incomprehensible, but whole cultures and religions have been built on such ideas. Aztecs, Mayans, Inca, all the flavours of Cannanite, some north American natives, Germanic and slavic pagans, so many others. I really think it's only the influence of Abrahamic religion that makes such thing seem abhorrent to us.

    Some observations:
    1. Naturally, they wanted to highlight the Aztec and Toltec peoples, even though the native population was Olmec. Literally nothing about the Aztecs is native to Yerbabuena.
    2. It’s interesting how spiritualism is markedly different in the US vs. Mexico.
    3. You can certainly edit the Wikipedia article. If you can provide source material, they should definitely accept it.
    4. Your pronunciation was excellent. The only thing that caught my attention was the name Eleazar (should be pronounced e-le-AH-zar; the /e/ is like the /e/ in Hey, "Hey there!")! It's an unusual variation of the more typical Eliezer (e-li-e-ZER). That’s really a very small thing. No eye-rolling disasters like in so many videos.

It can be if your mind is already pretty damaged. It messed me up after many years of using it. I abused it though. I was desperate for relief. It's taken some years to get my head right. Even now I get glimpses of how my mind used to work. And it scares me. I've been subject to panic attacks since I was a child.
