Consequences of a Bad Decision

The message today concerns the infamous Prodigal Son story. The specific point of the message is when the young son comes to his senses and decides to return home to his father. For us today, this tells us that we must admit that we have a problem, then turn to the One that has the solution. The father in the story represents God, who is our Father. Our Father provides everything for us, just as the father in the story did for the son. When the son returned home, his father welcomed him with open arms. Our Father (God) will do the same for us, no matter how far we have strayed from Him. There are consequences for the decisions we make, and some of them are life-ending. To avoid these type of dangers, we must stay within the Father's bosom, in our Father's house, so that He can provide and protect us from said dangers. Being with the Father means living the way He wants us to live.
