- This fight between Brandon Figueroa and Stephen Fulton Jr. took place on 27 November, 2021 at Park MGM, Paradise, Nevada, U.S.

Today is a very controversial fight! I will say that a lot of jabs for example did not get into this review, as it is not very interesting to look at them). I advise you to watch the fight in its entirety, to have a proper idea of it. In general, I can say that even after watching the full fight I still have doubts in the verdict.
I respect your view of the fight wholeheartedly...however, I am one who looks at what boxing actually is. I dont think that because a fighter is throwing a million punches is winning the fight...or that a fighter pressures his opponent is winning the fight. The boxer with the most clean (noticable/accurate) punches should always win. Isnt that what judges score on?? Clean shots...not swinging arms. I believe the fight was scored accurately...and I'll be the first to admit I wouldnt have been upset if it was scored the other way bc Fig landed a ton of clean shots. But for everyone saying Stevie ran or etc...clearly isnt a "BOXING" fan. 👍🏽💯

To be honest I didn’t see a winner in that fight, the number of shots that missed compared to the few that connected by both boxers made this hard to judge but a draw would have been a fair result

If it wasn’t for Figueroa’s chin he would be fast asleep in that fight. However, he clearly out worked Fulton with pressure. Fulton landed the cleaner shots and that’s why he won. People seem to think if you pressure… you control, therefore you’re winning. If you’re pressuring but getting your head pin balled, you’re actually losing.
Some people score fights based on different things. Some people prefer pressure and activity over someone that isn’t active but accurate. Everyone has different perspectives.

Watching this match, I’m even more certain that Fullerton will not be able to deal with the power and technical accuracy of Naoya Inoue. If he is getting hit this much in a match, there is no way he can withstand the Monster who’s defense/counters are much better than Figueroa’s.

@@cyrilsemsem2176 I think you'll find it's Inoue who is the superior technical fighter. He's the most accurate puncher in boxing currently and his footwork, jab, and counter punching are all excellent. In fact a big reason why Inoue's punches are so good is due to his technique, he's truly mastered the art of throwing a punch. Seriously, watch one of his fights, it doesn't matter which one, and compare how much better Inoue's punches look compared to his opponents. Even a total novice can see it.

First why is a bigger fighter fighting like that, second, Stephen definitely won this but it was a close war for no reason. I dont know much about Brandon but his fighting style is stupid for his body type. He is taller with a strong chin but wants to bang with the smaller fighter. His corner did him a disservice. Stephen to me had the cleaner shots and Brandon's shots weren't all that clean. Maybe if he had stood up and used his reach to outbox the shorter fighter, he would have won.

井上と比べるとフィゲロアのパンチは正確さにかけパワーも全く感じない。今まで戦ってきた相手はこんな感じの選手ばかりだから井上と対戦した時には肝をつぶすだろうな。上には上がいると言う事を身をもって体感することになる。

It could happen, Monster got bricks in his gloves. Inoue is no where near as big, or as strong as Figueroa. Plus Inoue stance is much more upright, his style is much technical. He will not be able to apply the same pressure as Figueroa. Inoue vs Fulton will be a chess match between two great boxers. Maybe in the 5th the fight will break out and we'll see who stands up at the end.

この映像だと、フルトンより負けた選手の方が変則で気持ち悪い感じがしました。フルトンは左ボディー打たれまくっていたので、井上が3ラウンドくらいで勝つのでは無いでしょうか。

フィゲロアはフルトンより大きいからこの展開になったけど、フルトンがこのスタイルで戦うのはこれが最後だろうね。
井上との勝負はまともに撃ち合わずポールバトラーの上位互換の様な闘い方をすると思うよ。
もちろん井上が勝つ方に賭けるけど。
フィゲロアがタフ過ぎ。
フルトン後半はスタミナ切れなのか前半のようなコンパクトなカウンターも見られずフィゲロアの圧力に押されて良いの貰ってましたね。
フィゲロアのファイトスタイルは特殊過ぎてあまり参考にはなりませんがフルトンもあのスタイル相手に12R戦い抜き、フィゲロアの頭をより多く揺らして判定で勝っているのでスタミナはかなりあると思います。
なりふり構わずイヤらしさ全開で来られたら井上選手と言えども面倒な展開になるかもしれませんね。

IMO I don't think either guys will survive inoue you can hear that crisp body shot in videos speed power from him... Incredible two fighters here a lot of Heart but Inoue is different, and this would've been a draw bad decision on the Judges.

This fight was a perfect example for great boxing vs a tough opponent who walks forward throwing looking busy. Fulton selects his shots and lands effectively. Figueroa is game but gets wild and opens up too much in this fight

I think Figueroa did Lowkey lost not that far tho it was a close fight. I will say he has to work his distance he goes in to pressure but gets tagged with a jab all the time maybe those ain’t powers shots but refs count that. He also hits and don’t move Fulton’s jab was sharper and counter him with good uppers and hooks..

I remember thinking before this fight figureroa was lethal coming forward but Fulton chose to meet him in the middle of the ring and he showed he has more bite than Figureroa! Beating fighters at their own game is mentally demoralising for them

figuearoa was definitely at it tonight ! but it is a terrible tight fight. looking at highlights it seems like a robbery to me, but it is possible that that algorithms and judges had the correct scores on their cards.
Watching the whole fight Fulton won his punches were more accurate. Figueroa had incredible endurance and kept coming forward but his lack of head movement and just defense all around is what cost him. He kept getting his head snapped back although he doesn’t go down it still looks pretty bad especially for scoring.

Very active punch stat for both champs! I saw it closer to a draw but can see why the judges would choose Fulton. His punches and combos were cleaner and had power. He was moving Figueroa’s head with every 1-2 combo 😮

for me, figueroa's style will make inoue suffer even if you say his punches are weak, but he will make you suffer with the pressure he will make and in the middle of the round he will finish you,
