    Maybe you've answered this question before but what is the science behind how shifting the eyes to the left and to the right causes the pain to go away? I find the science so fascinating and I'm learning so much from your channel. It honestly works; I've done it repeatedly since I started listening to you a few weeks ago with immediate results. I have chronic daily headaches and migraines, as well as MS, so widespread muscle stiffness and pain is a regular for me. Thank you for making sooooo much info available.
    Also, what is the title and author of the book you've mentioned as a good resource for learning about unresolved trauma and the CNS? I'm currently listening to the audiobook of The Body Keeps the Score. It's really opening my eyes to understanding and having more love and compassion for myself and others.

      Hey Melanie, your eyes are connected to the small suboccipital muscles at the base of your skull. Moving your eyes disrupts neural tension and movement patterns which then affect your cranial nerves, including your vagus nerve which is part of your autonomic nervous system (responsible for your stress response). I think I've mentioned a few books, but the key ones would be Accessing The Healing Power of The Vagus Nerve by Stanley Rosenberg and The Polyvagal Theory by Stephen Porges. Also good is The Polyvagal Theory In Therapy by Deb Dana. Hope that answers your question!
