Yes! He looks amazing, totally elegant, his drip is total class, the jewelry is beautiful, but there are other aspects to his style that have a sort of daring twist. Like, the 1960s mustache and suede coat don’t look like they’d be classy on their own in the same way, they look more like they’d be worn by a guy who Andy Warhol would turn into a superstar after picking him out of a lineup outside a leather bar. It’s all such a creative look, I love it!!
@@Juliejulez there was some specific quality about her voice that was bothering me and I think it's that. I think she also says things that sound like what a humble classic New York lady would say. Ok let's just say bad acting takes you out of the scene lol
Her classmates asking “why didn’t you brush your hair?” is sooo true. The way that people view curly girls as unkempt is so backwards. when in reality curly folks put twice as much effort into their hair 😵💫
That seems crazy to me, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I have straight hair and I always longed for curly hair growing up. I was never great at styling so it just seemed like you didn't have to do much for it to have some interest and flair when it's curly.
I’m falling for this woman. I’ve noticed in most all her interviews the one consistent thing that she talks about is her relationships and bonds she’s forged w ppl and THAT is someone who VALUES something real and I love it
This felt like such an elegant, retro, regal moment in time. Both Ted and Natasha are so timeless and beautiful here and also, incredibly nice people. It's surreal, how this feels like the kind of laughter, giddiness and warmth people would think about after they are gone (God forbids) of when they reminisce about lives well lived. Plus, there is an alarming amount of beauty in this video. Loved it!
Yup....As an Arab American woman when I was in grade school people would call my hair pubes...in HS a guy told me I'd be a "knock out" if I had a nose job....funny thing is at 40 now, I feel more beautiful than I ever have and it has nothing to do with how anyone feels but me. I'm glad that the world is embracing all types of beauty. I just pray that people realize that it's not the world that needs to accept you...it's you. God Bless!
There is nothing more naturally artistically beautiful than Natasha's entire head. Perfect EVERYTHING! Actually makes me slightly emotional, especially when she's being her natural quirky/humorous self.
Hearing Natasha talk about growing up with curly hair was so something I needed to hear as well! It was such a struggle as a kid and my mom didn't know what to do with my texture so it's been quite a journey! Thank you Natasha for talking on it!
i totally agree with people seeing you as "wacky" when you wear your hair naturally and agreed so much i said "yeah" out loud to myself as if i was on a call with her lol
Same! I think the word "wacky" hits the nail right on the head, it's like people can't take you serious because when they look at you all the can think is "hair"
1. Ted is literally gorg, lashes for days And 2. It is soo true, as someone who has not just curly hair but extremely voluminous hair whenever i wear it natural people treat me soo different. People always assume im some hippy dippy flower child and as a biracial person i have always hated that stereotype because it's soo not my style at all. It's takes a lot of not just confidence but energy to really rock your hair like that all the time but she looks great.
I absolutely noticed a difference once I stopped straightening my hair. It even makes ME feel different! But I am a hippy dippy flower child, so maybe that's why ✌🏽☺️💜
I so loved the duo. Two great people. As someone with super straight hair, Natasha's hair is a mystery in the best possible sense. I'm obsessed with her look and wish I had it too, though I know the grass is always greener on the other side.
I really relate to her comments about having curly hair as a kid vs in high school, and then as an adult being taken more seriously when your hair is straight. I loved this video so much!!
I love this conversation because both having naturally curly hair myself & growing up in a predominantly black community, it was so ingrained that "curly hair is meant to be either straightened or tamed by some heat", and back in the 90s & early 2000s it would be weird to me to want to wear your hair in its natural state instead of manipulated by heat. But now that we know so much about textures & heat damage & chemical damage & most importantly (to me) we've gotten rid of the stigmas that you only wear fake hair (protective styles) to hide something or to perpetuate something, when in truth it is & has long been a way to protect your hair & scalp depending on the hair, scalp or method. We really are in the era of "do what works for you", and I love that & love promoting that.
Oh I feel her, I have very frizzie thick curly hair, a lot like hers. I was bullied in elementary and middle school because of it. Mushroom head was their favorite, then in highschool watching them all get perms in the 90s was hilarious. I love my hair, it’s a lot like hers. Only now at 40 do I appreciate it. Now theirs is thin, scraggly and falling out, all getting hair extensions just to look like they have hair and here I am with my still thick curly hair living my best hair life while they spend 1000’s to try to resemble it.
I loved this! She is amazing and they have a wonderful dynamic with each other, you can clearly see how much they enjoy spending the time together......and the end "hair" result is incredible
All her hair experiences for being a curly hair girl I grew up with too! In Spanish they would call me "bruja" or witch. It hurt then but now I aim to look as witchy as ever possible 🧹!
Darling Ted such a beautiful evolvement you have had. I remember watching you on what not to Wear and thinking how talented you were then. Talented and ridiculously patient LOL thank you so much for the share
i for real thought she was a natural red head. And I was so hyped by that cause my mom has exactly her hair. Big curly red hair, especially when she was younger and it was longer
The cool water rinse!!! Yes!!!!!! It took me about 20 years to learn how to maintain my curly fro! And learn to love it! And still learning. Trust the process.
Russian doll came out just as I cut my curly red hair exactly as the character has her hair. It was uncanny how much it looked like mine. Everyone was telling me about the show
YES to Waterhouse paintings, so perfect. Maybe "Miranda" in front of the roaring sea storm, or "Circe Invidiosa" (though Circe is a brunette in that painting)... 😍
Would LOVE to see a Natasha Lyonne Beauty Secrets video, with her Killer sense of humor, quick wit, and Chrissie Hynde meets Stevie Nicks lived-in eyeliner and mascara
I normally NEVER leave the house without a blowout. After watching Russian Dolls, I decided to embrace my inner floofy, frizzy, wavy, curly hair occasionally. I just tell myself, my hair is not big I am just channeling Natasha Lyonne 👌🏻👌🏻💯. And yes growing up I would envy girls with “wash n’go” hair.
I have curly hair, my mother's hair is straight. When I was little, my mother used to comb my hair every day and said that my hair would be shiny and beautiful like that, while I hated my hair for years. it was so frizzy and awful. I used to braid my hair all the time. I was 19 when I realized how beautiful my hair was and I only combed it when I go to shower, other than that I never touched my hair. I think straight-haired mothers whose daughters have curly hair should be educated :)
I have thick wavy curly hair. As I child my mom dealt with super short cuts for me and my little sis. My older sis had the 'good' hair and was allowed to have it long and use bows and clips. I finally got brave enough to grow my hair out in my 30s and though its very hot and heavy in the summer, I finally feel like this is what I was supposed to look like.
I adore his aesthetic. The eyelashes, the mustache and the pearl necklace make him look so refined and elegant.
Could not agree more!

Same with people with acne prone skin
Natasha Lyonne has one of the best raspy smoker voice in the industry right now
she's alwaya sounded that way since american pie lol
Right? Like the next gen Kathleen Turner
The only time I remember her voice sounding high pitched, was Dennis the Menace and it’s so odd lol

What an INCREDIBLE head of hair!!
But SHE is the crowning glory, her personality (not her hair, as glorious as it is).
She is very appreciated not underrated
