TAKAMINE B10 HYBRID ACOUSTIC BASS - Andy's Vintage Guitars

Today I am showcasing a very rare instrument, the infamous Takamine B10 acoustic bass.
This beautiful piece of gear is a serious stunner, made in Japan in the 80s and shortly replaced by the more common TB10 model (still a rare animal).
The tone is similar to an upright bass as well as the neck profile.

Many years ago I was offered one of these and I kick myself for not getting it, I passed on it because of the high action and the size. Nice to hear one again, thanks and take care.

The action can be lowered, as I did on mine, but it sounds more like a fretless bass and less like a upright double bass ;)

The action is too high, its killing the notes. Lower for the mwah sound.

@@glennhynes5263 these have more of a cello action, they are known for it .no mwah sound for these unless you get em modded by a luthier
