Loved the run! Great commentary from the couch and runner, and the continuous bashing of the game had me laughing along with them. Thank you and great work!!
The runner + couch are fucking amazing in this one. This whole run was like listening to old pals that came together in their basement to enjoy themselves with some shitty but fun game.
7:53 When I first played this game many years ago as a little youngster, I took so long to finally find this elevator. Only to have no idea how to get into it. I swear I walked up and down this hallway looking for a button. I went all the way to the beginning of the game and back multiple times. Finally I got my dad in the room and showed him a UA-cam video where they walk up to the elevator and press the button. Just as I'm saying, "Look! That's not there for me!" I walk up to the wall and it finally says "Press A for the elevator". I was honestly pissed at myself.
I've never seen a speed run of Homecoming before! The game is... of questionable quality... But the run itself and the commentary was comedy gold! These are the kind of runs I absolutely love to watch :)
The combat in this game is curious. Some enemies have weaknesses to certain melee weapons and move sets. One example is the dogs with the pipe. The backstep with the downwards strike with the pipe automatically puts the dog on the ground for a finisher.
I played this on PS3, which seemed to be glitched where it wouldn't let me invert my aim (?). It made killing the smokers a nightmare, but I still enjoyed it enough to complete it.
@@g40rc378 yeah all versions except 360 were buggy as hell. Idk why, might be an engine thing. I know when the house turns and you have the mask puzzle, it can softlock for good and you'll need a new save
I can totally relate to QTE problems in Deadly Premonition on the Switch. Every time I see an X onscreen I end up hitting Y and vice versa! All those years of XBox have ruined me!!!
I'm surprised a Syphon hose wasn't one of the things you had to find to get the gas out of the gas tank. Having additional keys for puzzles was a big thing for most Silent Hill games.
There's a ton of games from that era with this same sort of look. Something just really strange about the lighting, like how the insides of characters' mouths are lit up, or under their eyelids are lit up. Makes everything look very strange in a janky, this-isn't-working way.
3:58 I know it was suppose to be a joke and I should just ignore it but I don't get how that part can be an indication of how american the game is? nudity and fanservice is common in japanese games/culture right?
The pc port is terrible and very very crash happy, even during normal gameplay. I can only imagine how often it crashes when you're doing skips and things.
I am pretty sure its for a few different reasons. 1. The game is super unstable on the PC. I think in one play through I did I had 30 hard crashes to desktop where steam would crash with the game. 2. With the frames being weird its harder to do the aim glitch. While I am sure its not impossible (I haven't tried) I think it would just take longer. 3. I think it is the speed runner standard to use the Xbox1 version. Since all speed runners want the same advantages as the other people and there might be some cut scenes you cannot skip on the PC version that you can on the Xbox, Etc. you want to do what the best does for the same advantage.
Hated this game tried grinding it out but 1 moment stood out to me was getting stun locked by 3 nurses died ended up souting WTF while my freind howling at me so for that alone i kinda like this game
This game ain't that bad. It isn't by any means as good as 1-4 but i think it doesn't deserve all the hate it gets. Downpour, on the other hand, is pure shit.
Runner introduction starts at 0:13
Run starts at 1:01
Couch commentary is provided by Ecdycis, nubzombie and AnEternalEnigma
SamWithoutAPlan is host
Love the goofy spin attack with the knife in a horror game.
Loved the run! Great commentary from the couch and runner, and the continuous bashing of the game had me laughing along with them. Thank you and great work!!

20:50 - 21:35 half of the entire game in a less than a minute

Great job everyone!
thanks all
Always glad to see new games to the show! Love the commentary as well.

"A bag of otter plushies" for some reason made me giggle
that ending was too fitting for this game rofl
There was a DOG here. It's gone now.
Grew up with this one played every ending posted walk-through back in the day I need to start speed running it looks like fun
The combat in this game is curious. Some enemies have weaknesses to certain melee weapons and move sets. One example is the dogs with the pipe. The backstep with the downwards strike with the pipe automatically puts the dog on the ground for a finisher.
I know it's not nearly the best in the series, but I actually like this game.
I played this on PS3, which seemed to be glitched where it wouldn't let me invert my aim (?). It made killing the smokers a nightmare, but I still enjoyed it enough to complete it.
I love this game. The bosses are the best.
@@g40rc378 yeah all versions except 360 were buggy as hell. Idk why, might be an engine thing. I know when the house turns and you have the mask puzzle, it can softlock for good and you'll need a new save
Yeah, it's far from the best, but I enjoyed it for what it was. The Scarlet boss was pretty cool, tho.
Agree, I enjoyed this game...

"No GAME SAVED"
"No GAME SAVED"
Finally homecoming in gdq been waiting this for years
I used to like this game back when I was a child
Yo this is so rad~ lol I didn’t think this was put out so recently~
By skipping half the game, you improved Homecoming by 50%
Game is underrated as are all of the silent hills after 2. Theyre all solid silent hill games and amazing survivor horror games.
I love the contents of GDQx, also love SH and AnEternalEnigma!
I dont know if anyone cares but FF9 references 15:38 in the Linblum castle lobby
i know im a couple years late but whats the no game saved meme @ 23:11
This could be a good horror game if it hadn't been a Silent hill
Great run, great game.
I'm surprised a Syphon hose wasn't one of the things you had to find to get the gas out of the gas tank. Having additional keys for puzzles was a big thing for most Silent Hill games.
Finally!!!! Silent Hill Homecoming on GDQ!!!!!
A Silent Hill Run!
Woo vods! Watched most of the runs but I had to sleep sometime lol
I wince every time the characters slam their chests into ledges now > .< Great run!
To me, home coming just didn't quite feel like a true silent Hill, it lacked something. Either way awesome run
Haha pretty sure 99% of fans agree.
Budget
I thought it was a pretty decent game, just not a good Silent Hill game.
so hype. much otter. very tekkie
really enjoyed the speedrunner and couch commentary, very enjoyable run!
Can't have a couch without Maxy
I actually liked this silent hill its fun.
I enjoyed this game.
Where do you guys host this?
Omg..its my favourite game😁
No idea why do many prople hate homecoming, my fav in the series apart from 2
LETS GO
I like how they said "Every frame counts" when the process to get invisible costs seconds. So that would be a bad trade.
I forgot how hideous the look of this game is. And not in a good, Silent Hill way.

Is the couch caster with the purple jacket the guy who normally reads donations? Sounds exactly like him.
Yeah that’s AnEternalEnigma. He also did donations for the RE2 finale
If you mean the guy in the middle, that's AnEternalEnigma and he does read donations! :D
Invisible % runthrough next time gogogo
nice run! :)
I loved this game and it's a great first game from a new studio at the time
"They tried..." Did they though?
Better than downpour
3:58 I know it was suppose to be a joke and I should just ignore it but I don't get how that part can be an indication of how american the game is? nudity and fanservice is common in japanese games/culture right?
Nice game 1👍
nice game 👍
Wonder why not pc version? With faster loadings and more frames? 🤔

Why is there an ufo?!?;?;!!!??!
the only good thing of this game was the Soundtrack
*_- Change my Mind -_*

4 is awesome scary and unique
9:50
I'm running 'round town with a knife in hand and I'm like,
It's not weeeeeeeeird (o o o!)
54:25 Whaaaaaat! ???? 😆 I didn't expect this.
I'd prefer more games like homecoming and downpour instead of the franchise being dead.
I really miss the active development in Silent Hill also. I wonder what Konami is thinking.
big mood
and i prefer to have standards.
Exactly... They both are pretty decent games. And really scary. Really sad 8th gen is missing Silent Hill. Such a great serie
Downpour had some issues but the idea of an open world silent hill game was amazing, so much potential wasted by fucking Konami
First!
