I don't think many people care enough to watch the VP debate. But Vance definitely left a very good first impression.
The moderators were atrocious. When you “fact check” and get it wrong, you should be fired. US media celebrates and heavily rewards these types of bad performances.

Maybe? How anyone has not seen this guy's potential since he was announced as VP blows my mind...the way he tracks topics when speaking/presenting is unparalleled. Vivek is a close second, which is insane, cause Vivek was in a league of his own in that regard.

Maybe, but Trump has always rebuked the political norms and said what needs to be said... what most people are really thinking and saying behind closed doors because they're too afraid to say it in public.
Vance's performance should not have been a shock. He is very intelligent and capable. The media have been very biased against him.
It should impact the polls, since Walz kept bringing up Trump's age -- Vance has a good shot of becoming president before 2028, so his performance is especially important. Who do I want to see in the White House? Definitely JD Vance.
I think this debate could strengthen Trump's chances. The fact is that Americans are much worse off today than about four years ago.

He dodged all the questions regarding the border security bill that Harris and Biden backed and was supported by both Dems and Republicans and border agents. He has spouted lies about Migrant crime which is statistically false as proves by Texas crime records. He never addressed the false claims of the Haitian pet eating allegations in Springfield. He keeps falsely stating that Trump's economic policies will work and reduce prices when in actuality they will increase them. He even said to disregard what the experts say in the debate. This is extremely concerning and shows how he had lied and refuses to answer questions.
He has also continued to spout the rhetoric that Harris had unlimited authority to do as she pleases with the border, which just isn't true. The Vice President does not have that kind of authority. Do you think Trump let Pence run around and do whatever while he was in office, no. Also, she has done a lot while I office, in fact she broke the record for the most time breaking bites ever cast in the Senate in us history so clearly she has been doing something. Yet y'all wanna conveniently ignore that one. Y'all wanna ignore how on average crime is at its lowest point since around the 50's and that border crossings are at their lowest currently over that last 4 years. Y'all wanna ignore how migrants are a overall benefit to our economy and demographics, preventing utter demographic collapse like in Japan, Korea, France, Germany, etc.
Vance refused to acknowledge that Trump lost the 2020 presidential election during the vice presidential debate tonight and downplayed the seriousness of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, which injured more than 140 law enforcement officers.
He also declined to say whether he would seek to challenge the results of this year’s election.
Toward the end of the debate, Walz asked Vance to affirm that Trump lost the last election. “Did he lose the 2020 election?” Walz asked.
After Hillary lost, she and Michelle Obama and a few others made a Netflix documentary about how shoddy the voting machines are and why that was why she lost the election. Challenging election results most definitely did not start with Trump. Hanging chads, anyone?

In a Republican mind, increasing the cost of imported goods while decreasing exports due to trade retaliation will lead to American prosperity.

Did you forget about the pandemic's effect on unemployment? By inauguration in 2021 the unemployment rate was back down to 6.4% and falling precipitously. Biden and Harris like to take credit for something they had no part of.

This is an odd take, first off because it was traditionally the Republicans who were free trade and the Democrats who were pro tariff, secondly since Biden essentially had the same position on trade as Trump, and thirdly because almost all the things you mentioned were a result of the Covid pandemic and had nothing to do with trade policy.
