The stuck bloom spikes could be caused by inadequate humidity. Try misting the plants with several pumps of water every day. That ought to soften up the outer sheath to let the spike pop out more easily. Great vid w/lots of good information!
Thank you for the video!!! Beautiful Flowers! I live in LA, and its hot and dry here in the Summer. But I so want to have these beauties in my collection...
Thanks for your video, here in New Zealand I get a hot summer and a cool winter to zero degrees outside but not snow. It's great to get care tips even though I only have 1 miltoniopsis. I watch a few orchid channels including Miss Orchid Girl and Daniel's Orchid Farm. I appreciate all the great info as orchids seem very expensive here in New Zealand and I want to pamper them and keep them alive.
Thanks for the video! Interesting to hear how you are growing this type of orchid. I only have one Miltoniopsis that I'm trying to get to grow. I'm trying the loose sphagnum moss as a medium now as Miss Orchid Girl and you have suggested. We'll see if this helps my plant to begin to grow some roots.
I live in South Louisiana and talk about hot, this state has the heat. We also have extremely high humidity. I've been growing milts. for eight years and I haven't lost a plant. I keep mine in a spare bathroom in a north facing window. I have a small stick humidifier that stays in a plastic bottle and it is on for twenty four hours. My plants don't over heat because I have central air on all summer and most days during the winter too. My plants are never stressed. I found that the most important key to growing these plants is the water that you use. Milts. thin roots don't like tap water. I water with distilled water. I bought a Vevo water distiller for seventy bucks. It's cheaper than running to the store to buy bottled water. I only fertilize with an organic fertilizer. I use Doctor Earth that I buy at WalMart.
Hi Blanca. It is possible to grow them with the right environment. In my experience, I could not keep them because I mostly grow outdoors and I keep my house too warm (between 74 -75°) for them. But they are beautiful blooms!! Thank you for the info! Happy Growing!😊
Great Video Blanca, I just purchase 3 about 2 weeks ago, all in bloom. I also in Ft lauderdale Fl. I had mine outside on my covered patio , but know there are in my bathroom.
Thank you for your inspiring video! I tried following your tips and put my Miltoniopsis orchid with spaghnum moss inside my bathroom but after a few days I see mold developing on my moss. Do you have the same problem, and if so, would that affect the orchid? I'm still debating whether to leave it in the bathroom to receive more humidity, or to move it to the living room with better air circulation. Hope you can share your thoughts with me. Thanks!
Hi, I live in florida and I bought one of those ladies and I was out of luck. I kept her inside, in an area where she got a lot of light and kept her moist. But she started to change color, and that's when I found out the she was dying. I her in potting moss for orchids, now I realize that it was the wrong medium. What should I do different next time.
I'm not scared of them, I just know they hate me. 😉 BTW, it finally rained at my house today. Was supposed to rain the past three days and nada. Of course it rained today, I went out and watered and fertilized _everything_ in my yard this morning, kind of like how it rains right after you wash your car. Guess I'll have to fertilize the orchids again tomorrow because those pots are getting one heck of a flush at the moment.
Michael McCarthy 🤗 you got rain, but really sorry you have to fertilize AGAIN tomorrow 🙄 hate when that happens. Over here it’s scorching hot 🥵 looks like we might get rain again tonight. And don’t get me started with the bugs. Hello Summer!! 🥵🥵
@@blancasorchidgarden it's been scorching here as well. Yesterday was 91, feels like 102. I don't mind fertilizing again tomorrow, it is quick and easy when the pot is already wet. I just mix a big batch in a bucket and fill my little watering can from the bucket. Only takes 15-20 mins or so. Bugs? What bugs? There are no bugs in Florida. 🙄
That is soooo pretty! love it! I'm sure it is very fragrant! So are they all grown in full sphagnum moss? Thanks for sharing your experience with growing the miltoniopsis, and happy growing.
Dunno if anyone cares but if you're bored like me atm you can watch all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother lately :)
Just got to seen this video. That is awesome how you can grow a miltoniopsis in Florida. I live in Florida to in WPB, (Got 1). I cannot grow, I tried I'm literally giving that 1 away to today. Cause it's slowing dying and I'm afraid to have it here, in my care during the summer when it's extremely hot, and completely died..
Hi, I just wastched this video, how are the plants doing now? Has the middle plant opened its blooms? (Probably not), and the last one. Did the spike free itself? I live in central Texas and keep my house around 71-74, have East & southeast windows, u think I could grow them? Thanks have a great week.
Hi!! The middle one is about to bloom any day now. The last one a spike dried out and the other is still growing but because it was trapped the spike is broken. Not sure if that one will bloom. I asked why that happens and it’s caused by not enough water. I’m pretty sure yours would grow. Just keep them moist at all times. Just make sure the light that comes in thru those windows is not too bright and unfiltered so they don’t get too hot. Temperatures over 80 degrees is not good for them. Hope this helps you and you get beautiful re blooms!! Keep me posted 😀🌸
@@blancasorchidgarden thank you, I dont have a problem keeping orchids wet lol I love getting up in the morning, drink my coffee as I watering my orchids.
Thank you very much Orchid Diva. I have 6 Phals and have had difficulty getting them to rebloom. I ouve in Denver Colorado and most months out of the year it's cold. I've had them for almost 3 years now and I'm just getting my first spike. What would you recommend. Thanks again Orchid Diva.
DEnise CHavez you got a spike!! Awesome! Keep doing what your doing but once the buds start forming I stop fertilizing. You will have flowers soon. Congrats 😀🌸
I live in the Netherlands, and Claessen Orchids even advises me not to keep cool growers. How do they keep it alive in the Netherlands? LOL They even have a dendrobium cuthbertsonii, which is a cool grower, standing on their counter, lol

They're beautiful, Blanca have you heard of orange rot?
Maria Mendez never heard of orange rot 🙁 sounds bad
I'm at rf!
They must be packed today. Happy Shopping
Do you fertilize them the same as your Phals?
Yes they all get the same. 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of 20/20/20 and the seaweed very other week 😊

I've bought 2 and killed 2 😭. I'm afraid to try a third but maybe my bathroom would work also.

Why don't you use ornamental pots on the outside of your see through ones then you won't get algae even better use a top layer of bark problem solved
