For the Heavy Rail Cars (Red & Purple Lines) The high horn is a Nathan P3 (which is also used for DC Metro Cars), and the low horn/whistle is the *Westinghouse Air Brake Trombone whistle* (pretty long name)
@@trevorthefoame: The Nathan P3 horns also used on the older METRA ELECTRIC bilevel trains formerly IC. You would hear those horns on the Blue Island branch of the METRA ELECTRIC IC older BILEVELS.
It’s called the original high bell a few p865/ have them but nowadays they are retired but when they were around most of them had it but as the years when by the operators stoped using it.
@Flat Train Technically all of the LRV’s have speakers and they aren’t real horns. They’re simply a looped audio. The only exception is the A650 having the Pacific Electric Whistle and what I assume is a Leslie air chime horn
Great Video Rleon! I Miss My 2018 Horn Videos That Many People And I Enjoyed A lot! Which Took 2-4 Months To Make! :(

I believe the P865/P2020s are the only rail vehicles in Metros fleet to have a actual mechanical bell and not an audio recording
The like the sounds trains make.😌
The high horn on the subway sounds like a P3 missing a 4 bell
Or even it sounds like SunRail 2005.
I miss the P2000 Bell On The P865/P2020 And The Horn Sounds Cool And Massive

1:41 The P2000 high horn
Love them.
They both sound very similar except that the P2000 sounds a bit muffled and more distorted which tbh I like more
I love them too!
Same
The Nippon Shary P2020 has a different horn
4:02 Now this is where the nostalgia starts.
was this in the late 80s or early 90s
It's funny how the horn is just a audio recording of a real horn (I think)
Once again, another fantastic video:)
I like the Nippon Sharyo original high Mechanical horn
0:57 That's my favorite horn, Sounds like a general signals type 1 e-bell
Amazing video!
I miss the P865 and P2020s
Same I miss them a lot unlike the new ones they are trash
@@Danielchannel326 same Kinkisharyos are bad bc they just ruined the legacy of the Nippon Sharyo P865/P2020s
Pious
I wish these trains would have REAL bells, horns, and buzzers. The fake elctronic ones just aren't the same.
You do have to realize the reason why they have thosee is because they operate in a dense residential area.
I Will Ride LA Metro When I’m 16!
1:23 it feels like someone is farting. Haven’t heard the loud horns since the 2000s in 1:30

I wonder what if someone makes music out of LA Metro sounds. Like people already made music out of Windows XP sounds.
I prefer the air operated roof mounted dual or triple horns.
The first kinda sounds like a 80s k5la
I remember the original high horns on P865s.

The p2000 is a speaker not a real bell
I never knew about it... R.I.P.
The high gong on p865 was added In the early 2000’s and the original p865 high horn was a air horn
@Flat Train Technically all of the LRV’s have speakers and they aren’t real horns. They’re simply a looped audio. The only exception is the A650 having the Pacific Electric Whistle and what I assume is a Leslie air chime horn
A650s have P2 with bells 1&2
