Naruto was carried by 9tails chakra before he was even born. During his mother’s pregnancy he was exposed to the 9tails chakra and was born with whiskers
he’s gutsy as would out himself in positions not many others would occasionally be put in, and defuse those odds regularly, it’s how he operates and is almost always surprising combined with his insane level and quantity of power given by the 9 tails
He a genius tricky fighter and in some sense like he faked being down vs neji with a clone and came underground and then he tricked Kieba senses and then he found the weak point of shikaku he smart and he figured out a easier way of doing the rasengan because he didn’t have enough chakara control yet like I know this is weird but being a genius means being talented his chakara is apart of his talent as a kid dude had more chakara than hiruzen and kakashi and has more stamina than them other than gai just know body didn’t train him that talent even without the 9 tails chakara yes he had way more chakara but they had way more chakara control because people train them and not having a beast sabotaging his training by messing with his Chakara control so they could make their time more efficient while Naruto be more tired so they expending the same energy sense Naruto be using more chakara than needed even kabuto said it this man has no chakara control once so ever but still beating prople and one he get his chakara control he would be unstoppable Naruto was always a talented genius he just had no one to train him and soon as he started to get train he surpass of all the people in his class. and he learned all of these chakara controlling techniques like rasengan and rasenshuriken and sage mode with kurame purposely messing with his chakara control and he still found a way to learnthe technique that a genius
@@RagnarLoudpak that’s not true due to people like shikamaru for example he has an iq of over 200+, Kakashi is stated to be just as smart or smarter than him, Itachi is the smartest in the show based on feats, etc.
I would say Naruto isn’t a genius like Minato, Boruto, Sasuke, or any of the other prodigys in the series, but he is a hardwork merchant and has really good intuition and creativity. His physically blessings help his other talents flourish and it helps to cover in the areas he lacks in.
@@speedy4574he doesnt have talent. He screwed up in every form of ninjutsu taijutsu and cant do genjutsu. Multi Shadowclone jutsu? Ninetails chakra Rasenggan? Ninetails chakra and cant even master it for two series, got lucky a sanin taught him the steps. Wind rasenggan? Ninetails chakra. Kakashi made him use multi Shadowclone on the training, each clone gains the experience and returns to naruto after popping. He is below averange on so many aspects that him having the 9 tails saves him. Scenario 1: "Without nine tails, he could be another Minato" no sht that means minato would be passing his knowledge to him since he wouldn't been dead. Scenario 2: "naruto's alone and still doesnt have the nine tails chakra" Chakra flow would be stable, only thing he'll have is an uzumaki reserves. He'd be neji leveld but no where near sasuke Shippuden level Scenario 3, same as 2 but Jiraya somehow teaches him, could likely do a basic rassengan, minato never mastered charka form rassengan, naruto wont either. Multi Shadowclones will kill him still (not even sasuke with all his reserves at the end of the series would summon 100x shadowclones, no one will) would need two frogs if decides to train for sage mode. Shippiden end arc, under sasuke and kakashi level. Semi might guy level with last gate, over might guy level without last gate because of acess to forgs and sage mode if given the opportunity.
Simple reasons why I believe Naruto is a prodigy: - Didn't have a real teacher until Kakashi, both parents died and had no real teacher whereas we know Sasuke learnt shit from Fugaku and Itachi - Learnt Multi Shadow Clone in a day without a teacher just through a scroll - Learnt Rasengan at the age of 12 - Became the first ever Shinobi to add a change in Nature to Rasengan at the age of 15, Which Geniuses like Kakashi and Minato and a Kind off Genius may be i.e. Jiraya could not do. - Learned/Perfected Sage mode in the less than a month at 15 years of age (While being hindered by Kurama) - Controlled the Strongest Tailed beast and learnt high level of Chakra control enough to distribute it to the whole of the alliance at 15 - Learnt to not only add his signature wind style but every other possible style to his Rasen Shuriken - BECAME THE STRONGEST FUCKING NINJA to ever live AT 15 YO above Hashirama and Madara. People who have done half of this are referred as prodigy in the series including Minato and Kakashi
Multi shadow clone was classed as a forbidden jutsu because it was high chakra taxing so its not a result of talent. He didn't even learn the rasengan he had to find his own way around it by using a shadow clone because he couldn't do the rasengan which again was also only possible because of his large reserves of chakra and him thinking outside the box, Also again he only managed to create the rasenshuriken because of the shadow clone method and his high chakra reserves and also splitting up the task with shadow clones and he also had help from kakashi asuma sakura and yamato. Learned sage mode because again sage mode can only be learned by people with high levels of chakra. controlled the 9 tails with the method given to him by minato and had help from killer bee and his mom coming back from the grave. He had help from every single tailed beast to accomplish the feat of all the other styles to rasenshuriken and was practically that strong because of their power. Naruto had lots of help and was practically carried by people around him which fits the deal of the story. Also hagaromo goes out of his way to practically state that naruto is a talentless dunce like his son ashura 🤣 And guess what he doesn't even have naturally high chakra reserves it comes from the seal stripping little bits of the kyuubi's chakra thats merged with his pool. Bros far from a prodigy.
@7thtier336 I don't think you know what a prodigy is, it's not necessary that prodigies don't get help, Kakashi was carried the whole series by someone or the other so is he any less of a prodigy? Sasuke was basically given one power up after another for free was he any less of a prodigy? Your accomplishments is what makes you a genius, there might be smarter people than Elon in Tesla & SpaceX but he's regarded as a genius because he carried the companies. Show me one character until the end of Boruto NNG that had no help and did even half of the shit Naruto did by the age of 16 I'll wait until the day of reckoning!

It needs to be said, Genius doesn’t just mean high IQ. It can be anyone who is especially talented at something or who is unnaturally intelligent, creative, or original in their thinking. By all metrics, Naruto IS a genius. It may be true he isn’t as book smart as Itachi or Minato and he may not grow as rapidly as Neji or Sasuke, but saying “Brute forcing creative and original solutions through high chakra isn’t a sign of genius” is disingenuous because you move the goal posts on what being a genius even means. Beyond any definition like this, Naruto has the definition of genius as natural latent ability. It often contrasts it with hard work as the two paths to getting stronger. Naruto is clearly meant to be the “Hard Worker” whereas Sasuke is the “Genius”, so from that angle I can see where a “Naruto isn’t a genius” argument comes from, but I disagree with it since he has lots of feats of outsmarting his opponents or overcoming huge disadvantages by thinking outside the box.
@@eze1196 I can’t tell which way you are arguing. From the sound of it, you aren’t talented OR a genius. A bad parallel to Naruto, whose talent DOES yield actual results.
Just because you do some smart things doesn't mean you're a genuis & Sasuke not being a hard worker is ridiculous fanfiction. He was hellbent on killing Itachi yet he didn't train often? 😆 He's far more of a hardworker than Naruto a genuis.
I think YOU are moving the goal post of what a genius is. Yes, your definition of a genius CAN be used, but it is obviously not the definition the naruto series uses. In naruto a genius is one who can master something, for what counts as, effortlessly, which in this case is not no hard work, but way less hard work than a non genius. By that definition naruto is in no way shape or form a genius.
About the sage mode. Minato dosen’t use it cause it’s parallel to how he is written & functions as a character its “slow” -> to Minato specifically as guy that uses ftg all the time. And quote likes to end fights quickly. If he could optimize it to use it an instance like Naruto he def would have used it. Naruto learned sage mode for every reason you gave & the fact that he was soooo hurt by Jiraiya’s death he HAD to honor him complete the training & get his get back. it was like the rent was due analogy.
The issue with this argument is that it makes it seem he doesn't take any time to form a strategy or observe his surroundings or enemies and just immediately rushes into battle. He is able to perfectly balance nature energy with his Chakra which is what is required not speed. Like the manga says he takes to long to actually gather the energy and he can't maintain it for long, something Kakashi who knows him out right agrees with.
Theres also the fact that he probably kept it as a secret trump card, he doesn’t need it 99% of the time and the other 1% wouldn’t know about it cause he never uses it
@@Vandalieuminato's whole combat style is to get in, kill an opponent and get out in seconds. He rarely ever gets into an actual fight that drags on for a while. This means that if he needs to enter sage mode, he has to do it way before a fight start, likes minutes before since he doesn't know when an enemy might appear. Which means that he would pretty much needs to be in sage mode 24/7 because that's the only way it would be useful for him. After all, any time he spends gathering chakra is time he is NOT fighting. Thus, for him, sage mode is an horrible technique because it negates his innate advantages. If he has to stand still to gather up the chakra necessary to use it, then he's already lost his biggest advantage. And even if a fight drags on, entering sage mode is still a horrible decision since you would leave yourself open to attacks. Just look at his fight with obito or the raikage. If you remove the time they spent talking, the fights started and ended in seconds. Imagine if he was trying to use sage mode, he would be dead before he's finished gathering the energy. Even jiraya and naruto cheats by respectively using the toads and a clone to gather the chakra for them(at least until naruto started being able to use it at will) So, in short, minato is THE assassin/dps whose whole kit is geared towards ending fights in seconds. Meanwhile, sage mode is a tank/warrior ability with horrible start up and is pretty much irrelevant because by the time he gets it up, seconds have already passed. Seconds during which he could have started and ended the fights.
@@randomdude3578 it's only horrible because he sucks at it. Seriously just taking a few minutes before entering a battle to enter sage mode would drastically increased his own power and effectiveness, he would be able to move faster strike harder have a greater spacial awareness and deal with stronger enemies more easily, sure he can't gather it in the middle of battle but that's something everyone has to deal with not just Minato. No the issue is literally what he had Kakashi say it is, he is simply too slow, as in the time ot took Madara and Obito's conversation about Obito still being Madara to take place he had only gathered enough to launch one Senjutsu Rasengan and them he was no longer in Sage Mode.
Kurama was not hindering Naruto from learning sage mode Kurama's only influence was after Naruto learned sage mode while Naruto was trying trying to link with ma and pa on his shoulders
It needs huge chakra, thats why he could master it and jiraiya couldn't, even minato couldn't for the same reason, naruto just has huge chakra because of nine tails.
@@ALUCARDTWILLIGHT Hyuga invented rotation but it was never said Byakugan was required. It makes more sense to say Gentle Fist, but the flaw in that is the Byakugan needs to be awakened & honed whereas Naruto didn't do anything to achieve his large chakra reserves. It's ridiculous to say Kurama hindered Sage Mode training while excluding he was the reason Naruto could use it proficiently. Especially given he only prevented Naruto from using the Toads as a short-cut after using shadow clones as another. A method he wasn't smart enough to come up with despite spamming clones for years & could only use because his large reserves.
Naruto has a extremely high battle IQ similar to Goku and Luffy despite not having the traditional genius level intellectual capabilities. Naruto is decently smart but not gifted genius like his father and rival. The Pain Arc showed Naruto’s strategic unpredictability and planning via Shadow Clones to be unrivaled.
No he is as good as them he was just held back in his life by being hated and by kurama and by not being trained seriously and facts his charaka he would have way more and his chakara control would be way better like if he didn’t have the 9 tails that was holding back his chakara and chakara control he would have been strong and he still learned the rasengan and sage mode and rasenshuriken with kurama purposesly messing with his Chakara and he still found a way to learn it that why I say he a genius but was just held back by a lot of circumstances like by kurama and by no body training him early and he found a way to outsmart pain neji and kiba and garra in battle
In naruto it basically means skilled. For example lee is called a failure but also a taijutsu genius. Hes skilled enough to get by with no chakra natures or kekai genkai. And is skilled enough to enough to open gates besides 8 without permanent injury.
It's especially a problem in Naruto, this series has a specific meaning for the word genius that runs parallel to how normal people might use it (extreme talent vs high IQ)
Genius: 1. exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability. 2. a person who is exceptionally intelligent or creative, either generally or in some particular respect. That’s the definition of genius, and I do think Naruto, to a degree, is smart: Chakra and intelligence aren’t linked, and to use ninjutsus, is purely a mental feat, same with whatever Naruto uses during his life. Using shadow clone at that age is impressive, since it’s a forbidden ninjutsu, and he learned it in less than 20 minutes. The only thing that can be marked against Naruto in that scene, was the amount he made, which was like a thousand, due to being a uzumaki, and having Kurama inside him. And while yeah, he can’t make techniques the way his father can, he he can do things most, and even his father couldn’t: *elemental infusions.* The rasinshirikin was something Naruto made solely by himself, and yeah, he had to use multiple shadow clones when he first made it, it doesn’t dispute the fact he created a technique, which while can be argued to have been a copy of the rasangan, was still his own, and worked differently enough, and powerful enough to be a forbidden ninjutsu. To add on: he was able to infuse elemental releases into it when he was given the 8tail beast elemental releases during the 4th great shinobi war, and over time, use it by himself. To be able to apply, and use elemental releases is something that Naruto came up with, something that Kakashi couldn’t do, and Minato couldn’t do, either because they themselves didn’t understand, or wern’t able to do. But that’s just his ability to apply and make techniques, and that’s really not where he strengths lie: he also has taijutsu, and a high battle IQ, at least high enough to keep up with kakashi during the beginning of shippuden in case, and outsmart Neji, and help kill madras and kaguya. Naruto is smart, maybe not book smart, which is why he couldn’t make his own techniques, since he didn’t understand them, but definitely battle smart. To be able to survive requires smarts and skill, and the fact that he didn’t get bodied by people like 9 tail madara, or valley of the end Sasuke says a lot. For a person who’s apperently not smart, to keep up with a amped Sausuke, who was trying to kill him, while already heavily injured, and down on chakra, while also trying to incapacitate him, takes grit and intellectual prowess to pull off, especially if u consider Sasuke a genius. If Naruto was just the nine tails, or just chakra, he would’ve died/been taken by obito, or killed like all the other tailed jinjurikies. He has smarts, and he definitely can be said to be smarter than most battle IQ wise, and be up with the geniuses. While we can argue that he is or isn’t a genius, at least don’t undermine Naruto as a character, since really, he is smart, not book smart, but to have been able to survive, learn, overcome, and then save Sasuke, he had to have had/been something other than power and chakra to have achieved it. (I feel valley of the end proved that.)
One thing I will say about Naruto learning the Rasengan with the method that he used, is that the ability to innovate in order to compensate for shortcomings, is a form of genius. The ability to look at a problem and create a new solution for it, is exactly how inventions are made and while this isn't a point to argue that Naruto is a genius or that his genius/talent is equal or relative to Minato, it is just a point to argue that there was genius involved in his development of Rasengan and later his evolution of Rasenshuriken. Being able to create an S-class Jutsu is not likely something that could be achieved by someone who lacked genius either. So if I were to make any case in favor of him being a genius, that would be an argument. Also when making a case in favor of your position of these types of things, I think it's important to have your definitions well established and well outlined because the definition of genius that a quick Google search offered is: "exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability." And by that very definition, Naruto would be a genius due to the ways that his natural Chakra reserves allow him to achieve success. So he would be a genius in a different way than Minato or Kakashi are, similar to how Rock Lee is a genius of hard work who was able to master the 8 gates far beyond what any ordinary person could. Basically, he would be a genius by a different metric than the characters that he is being compared to and basing his genius off of them is a false equivalency when they reached their end results for things like Rasengan and Sage mode using different means.
You don't get how MUCH OF A CHEAT CODE shadow clone was for naruto aren't you? at every turn where TALENT stopped him no other character in the history of Naruto had to make a shadow clone to fundamentally split a technique in two just to be able to do it that's how ass Naruto was he had to make a shadow clone to help him make one handed technique even Jiraiya who also was ass didn't needed something like that to be able to learn one handed technique it's the same for rasenshuriken except now he's cheating even more because he used shadow clones to basically condense DECADES of training using thousands of shadow clones "His natural chakra reserves" y'all always failing to acknowledge Kurama's own chakra leaking into him through the seal since birth was the very reason why Naruto had the largest chakra reserves Naruto is not a genius in any sort of way He's clever and resourceful but not a genius Geniuses are like minato itachi and kakashi People who graduated the academy at 5 and had natural aptitude to everything if you are not hailed as genuis you are not Even god himself goes to tell you Naruto is not genius Haguromo told us that Naruto did not inherited either if his parents special ability or traits basically comparing him to ashura who also was talentless
@theswordzmaneditz347 Using an ability at your disposal to make things easier is not cheating. There's also different levels to genius, you cant just take one of the highest tiers of geniuses like minato and say, "Naruto isn't a genius because he's not on minato's level". You have to give him props when he does something a genius would do, like learning sage mode in the time that he did while being interfered by kurama
@@theswordzmaneditz347I agree with most of this outside of Kurama helping his chakra reserves. Up until KCM2, Naruto had to use his own reserves to suppress Kurama. If he wasn't doing this he'd have like 20 times the amount of chakra. Not only that but his seal may have been messing with his chakra control. Both Kakashi and Jiriya state this, although Jiriya was likely talking about Orochimaru seal, Kakashi didn't know about that in his statement. I would honestly say that if Naruto didn't have Kuruma and had a good teacher from a young age like Kakashi, Jiriya or Minato, he would be stronger at every point in the series outside of KCM2 and beyond. That's just because being friends with Kurama is just a really big power boost.
@@theswordzmaneditz347it wasn’t talent it was the training he was missing earlier on and its was he is a genius and prodigy he was just held back by kurama in the beginning like holding the 9 tails hold sum of his chakara reserves back and his chakara control back like even kabuto said he would literally be unstoppable in the beginning part of Naruto with his base chakara and it being held back by kurama which would have boost his chakara by at least 50 times low baling and kurama was messing with his chakara control on purspose and he still learned chakara conroling techniques like the rasengan and rasenshuriken if he didn’t have kurama he would of been unstoppable and a genius in the beginning because of his chakara control being way better and his amount of chakara bieng way higher.
In the manhwa 'Lookism', there are people called the 10 Geniuses. These people are geniuses in different fields. One in fighting, another in weaponry, and another in hacking. There's one pretty strong one amongst them who's arguably even stronger than the Fighting genius. And he's the training genius Gun Park. His physiology allows him to take a ton of punishment which enables him to get very strong from training. I think I get your point. However, if Naruto's physiology allows him to do things other geniuses simply could not. I don't think that's grounds to deny him the title of genius.
It's like saying uchias can't be geniuses because they have sharingan a natural ability which is crazy statement to make. People are making it seem like Naruto was doing steroids or something.
Nobody says the uchiha can’t be geniuses because of their dojutsu. The sharingan like Naruto’s chakra pool, is a gift. Also the sharingan is only awakened by a few amount of uchiha

Narratively Naruto wasn’t supposed to be a genius but everything he accomplishes and does displays the opposite. Even though he does have a large chakra reserve he still is a genius. No one discredits Gaara and he had a tailed beast and a huge amount of chakra. Plus doesn’t the nine tails mess with Naruto’s chakra control. He also created the jutsu that eventually defeated Kaguya.
His arsenal mainly consists of moves he can only use & learned quickly because he has alot of chakra. Kurama's chakra only interfered during the exams from Orochimaru's seal which Jiraiya removed. Genius, Noun: "Exceptional intellectual or *creative* power or other *natural ability.* " By definition, Naruto literally is a genius. It's not the same genius as Minato, Kakashi or Sasuke, but it's a definable form of Genius non-the-less.
He comes up with creative plans but there's a difference between being smart & being a genuis. Why is natural ability bolded? Chakra? That comes from Kurama.

Six did all this yapping while purposely omitting the part where 2 of the most “genius” shinobi in the verse (hashirama and sasuke) literally call the guy a genius. The video ended before it started
This video feels somewhat disingenuous considering there are multiple factors you didn't consider. One, Naruto was stunted growing up. He didn't have the care and proper education he needed to be a shinobi, we know that Iruka is the only one who actually cares about Naruto's education and he alone isn't enough to help Naruto, ffs Naruto doesn't even know the fundamentals of chakra until Lands of Wave(some of this could be chalked up to Naruto ignoring his lessons from the academy but again his upbringing lacks proper guidance so of course he lacks the discipline needed to focus). He also lacks proper nutrition care in his diet growing up. We know he has to sustain himself of spoiled food because that's all he could afford and get. Ramen is the only proper meals he got and that's not nutritious enough for any kid growing up let alone one who's trying to be a ninja. Two, even after becoming an official shinobi, Naruto didn't receive any worthwhile training until the chunin exam(tree walking and water walking are fundamental for any shinobi worth their salt so they don't count) and even then it wasn't something he used that often (tell me, how many times in the series, not counting fillers, does Naruto uses the summoning jutsu for combat). Jiraiya's statement about Naruto being untalented cannot carry any weight here because HE WASN'T THERE FOR NARUTO GROWING UP. All he got to see was the result of a child who grows up with everyone and everything practically sabotaging him, of course all he sees was a talentless child, not a child who's talent was figuratively taken away from him. Also we don't know the specific of the training Naruto and Sasuke went through during the time skip. From what we do see though, Sasuke was the one who received a real training while Naruto barely has anything. Think about it, after three years all Naruto can do is make slightly better rasengan and more access to the kyubi's chakra which ended up backfired on him. Jiraiya only taught Naruto two jutsus that's worth anything in the entire series and both of them were PRE TIMESKIP. WTF. You can't say that Naruto's large chakra reserve carried him when said reserve also handicapped him. It made chakra control much more difficult for him since his reserve was too high he can only use high chakra consumption jutsus(which he only knows a handful) and even then he can't use them properly. and not to mention the kyubi actively sabotage his chakra control even more. It's a net even on this one. Every other genius you use here has real care and nurture to let them flourish, Naruto literally has to proof his worth to even be acknowledged. It's actually spoke to Naruto's talent and genius that he managed to get as far as he did with what he's given. This video feels like that it, just like Naruto's childhood, was rigged against him.
To build on this a little bit more you can even look at the academy and the jutsu they choose to teach the children. You could argue that the academy’s curriculum is actually disadvantageous to people with high chakra reserves. They teach low chakra jutsu that fail when you use to much chakra which really does not apply to any other jutsu in the entire series.
@@jackooooooooo Naruto just uses it to try and overwhelm his opponents with numbers but it rarely works because his clones can not take a hit. Kakashi uses the cloning jutsu better. He might not be able to make as many as Naruto but his clones are more effective. The way he uses the clones for diversions is genius. If Naruto is gonna use his clones for all out offense he should be able to do what people like Madara could do. Madara's wood clones were pulling out 20 susanoo simultaneously 💀.
@@Randomguy1dnah the genius isnt in that the venius is in his chakra control. Just having a fk ton of chakra doesnt mean shit if you cant control which takes skill. A skill that sasuke himself admitted to not having: “not only does naruto have this much chakra but also perfect control over it. Just how far will you go?” im sorry but aint no dumbass controlling that much chakra and ni average joe either. like u need to be a genius to do that. 2 battle iq. he clears thw whole verse in that except itachi. i dont think i need to explain
Dude got talked about basically everyone with high Chakra. Minito was doing a jutsu it took 4 joinin level people to pull off and he did it casually. Kakashi had 1 sharigan constantly draining his chakra and was still super powerful. Saskue was the incarnation of Indra so he has massive chakra suck as Indra and Madara. This video is just stupid . All geniuses have high chakra pools
Six's point is Naruto's chakra reserves are so high to the point where chakra control, technique and ability to grasp things quickly arent nearly as essential as it would be for everyone else. Young Sasuke, Itachi, Kakashi and Minato all have above average reserves for their ages, but they're no where near implied to be on Naruto's level and heavily rely on general technique and base chakra control in order to learn new jutsus and get stronger. All of the previous characters mentioned either learn 1-2 Nature Transformations by the age of 13 or invent a brand new potentially A-S rank level jutsu. Naruto doesnt really do either up until he's 15..
Being a reincarnate didn't amp their power. Indra and Ashura's chakra just transferred to them after birth. It was described as like a ghost attaching to them.
3:20 true an example is how hard it took for Goku and Vegeta to become super Saiyans while it took Gohan a few months under the teaching of Goku same with cabba of universe 6 with Vegeta , coming up with something will always be harder than learning something step by step
@@sixfromtokyo such a great argument you presented… genius has multiple meanings and Naruto fits a few, but even more than that, I’ll provide context as to why he’s a genius. 1. Naruto created a 1000 shadow clones in chapter 1, when he literally couldn’t do a single shadow clone in the first few pages lol, even iruka acknowledged him for doing such 2. Naruto summoned gamabuntu to fight Gaara, despite only being able to summon a tadpole upon initial tries 3. Naruto perfected the rasengan, something even minato couldn’t do 4. Naruto mastered sage mode despite the fox making it harder for him, something jiraiya or minato couldn’t do 5. Naruto (alongside tobirama who was the second hokage) was the only one to realize sage energy effected juubito 6. Naruto used Sexy jutsu against Kaguya to land the first hit against her, a jutsu he developed in the first chapter. 7. Naruto was the only one who conquered his enemies with love and understood their viewpoints to prove their ideals wrong. 8. When sealing Kaguya, Naruto was the one who recognized he had to not let black zestu escape to revive Kaguya again. 9. Naruto was the one who realized he had to defeat his shadow self by knowing his inner Anger needed love 10. When minato acknowledged the mental intellect of Sasuke, he later compared Naruto to the same levels by surprise in the war arc No matter how you spin it, Naruto is literally a genius with him fitting definitions such as “someone who influences good or bad”, “a peculiar, distinctive, or identifying character”, and “a person endowed with extraordinary mental spirit”. I also provided examples outside of him being influenced by the fox. You seem to think there is a linear way to be a genius such as an Einstein but that’s just not true. Naruto is a combative genius and a philosopher for hope which was taught to him by jiraiya. When Naruto becomes emotional, his mental state exudes his everyday thought process amplifying him to genius levels of thinking proven multiple times on end. Just cause you make UA-cam videos doesn’t mean you’re right brother
@@jamevolve8380 allow me to correct some details : 1 - He made *Shadow Clones* . Thousands of them. It is a more advanced version than the one he was unable to learn earlier, because, contrary to normal clones learnt in the academy, the *Shadow Clones* are actually physical clones while the standard *Clone Jutsu* leaned in the academy are simply illusions. 2 - Summoning is based on amount of Chakra and control of it coupled with the affinity between summoner and summoned beast. So it's even more impressive than what you suggest. 3 - Counter Point, Minato didn't even *try* to, because he didn't need to. The basic was more than enough for him. Still, doesn't change the fact that the rasengan was improved upon and it was an S-class Jutsu from the start. 4 - Minato mastered sage mode, he just found it too slow so never used it. Regardless, Senjutsu is ungodly hard to learn, so hard in fact that *Orochimaru* couldn't learn it despite wanting to. 5 - True, nothing to add here. 6 - using the sexy jutsu in that context was daft, while it worked, it was a long shot. What is impressive was that he invented the sexy jutsu before ever becoming a Genin. 7 - shows more of his ability to actually communicate, listen, accept and argue. It shows that he is Leader material despite not being a Chunin yet because he was not in the village to get the promotion. 8 - He was the one to vocalize it, but I am of the feeling that anyone with half a brain would have concluded the same. 9 - Same as point 7 : it shows he is leader material by accepting his anger as a part of himself and thus loving it regardless. 10 - what is said there doesn't make sense, at least to me, can you explain what you mean by that ? other than that, I agree with you.
@@Commandant_Aeon 3 - minato tried to add his chakra nature to the rasengan but couldn’t do it because he died prematurely 10- I could’ve worded it better, minato acknowledged Sasuke’s genius, and was surprised by the fact that Naruto also had comparable levels of genius, which occurred during the war arc. As for everything else you just add context to the nature of the situation but nonetheless it proves why Naruto is a genius imo so I see no issue
@@jamevolve8380 didn't know about Minato trying to, but make sense. And okay for the 10, make sense. I know it's only adding context, it further proves your point ^^
If you look at a character with prejudice, you wont be able to understand their positives. Naruto who is born with huge chakra reserve, later he got nine tails sealed inside him. He has more chakra than any other characters in the show. But that's not necessarily a good thing, because it takes some talent to control that much chakra. To create an shadow clone user's chakra is needed to evenly divided between themselves and their clones, so huge chakra does not mean it's simple (it's so much harder to get that much chakra under control). When Kakashi was teaching team 7 about how to climb trees, Naruto was able to learn faster than Sasuke (Even with that huge amount he got precise control over it). In the 4th great shinobi war, Naruto was able to give his chakra evenly for every shinobi present there (it's not an easy task, it was only posible because how 'talented' he was in his chkara control). When 10 tails was about to kill everyone inside barrier, Naruto suggested the idea of how they can teleport everyone through nine tails chakra. His taijutsu is also one of the best in the series, he doesn't have sharingan like Sasuke but he mastered it (he was even be able to go against momoshiki). His battle iq is far better than any character in Naruto, in every battle he uses his shadow clones and environment best way possible to beat his opponent (no one has ever seen through his plans ever). His control over Sage mode is better than any character in the whole show, he mastered everything toad teaches him, and find a way to use it longer.
Naruto is a genius in his own right. He figured out the 4th raikage weakness and took him down with a simple rasengan. Deciphered the multi shadow clone jutsu from Tobirama scroll, outsmarted and beat Neji, mastered summoning, idealistically created a combination with his Rasenshuriken and Sasuke Blaze release. During his return to Konoha, he outsmarted Kakashi during the bell test twice. Outsmarted Kakazu, discovwred Pain location after beating Deva Path, figured out juubi Obito weakness, learn jaraiya camouflage jutsu, Naruto lacks academic and curricular intelligence between trajectories, mathematics, and problem solving from an arithmetic standpoint. But he's a hands-on genius. His problem and oberservational skills is on a different level. All of feats wasnt without the support of others.
Shadow clone jutsu is not hard because of difficulty, but because of chakra consumption. No one in the series has called Naruto a genius because of it. Half of what you've said can be achieved by someone of average intelligence. The other half, like achieving sage mode and Rasenshuriken were achieved using hundreds of shadow clones. He needed hundreds of clones comparable to him in intelligence to reach genius results.
I feel like the arguments presented make a compelling case for why Naruto is less of a genius than some other people called a genius, but not that he isn't a genius in general by the Naruto world's standards
There is nothing Naruto does that compares to the other geniuses to say that he is a genius is what I was going for with the video it's more creativity & access to a lot of chakra than genius.
@@sixfromtokyo This is my thinking on this: you make the point that Naruto is not a genius because his accomplishments are primarily due to some trait that is exogenous from whatever traits you think dont disqualify someone from being a genius. I think one could just as easily say something like "Sasuke was only able to perform the fireball jutsu early because he has chakra that developed early" for example. If the video made some argument for what traits count as genius traits and what traits don't I'd have less of a problem with the conclusion though
I always figured he wasnt a genius, isnt the whole thing about him not being a genius not having talent, but just working super hard and never giving up
The whole thing is about breaking the cycle of hatred, hard work vs talent was never a theme, determination was (hence rocklee lost but still persevered)
Idk man. This feels to me like saying Magnus Carlsen isnt a genius because he doesnt have anything on Albert Einstein. Just because he isnt the smartest in the verse doesnt mean he isnt up there.
Naruto isnt a genius, no. He doesnt need to be though. but he is clever, and just learns differently. He may not just be a savant level shinobi but we also shouldnt undercut his ability and his willingness to learn. Those and his steength of will and character have all been his greatest assets. Yeah part 2 lost the plot a lot on the whole "genius vs hard work" argument it set up in part 1 but thats also okay, cuz you can still see the echoes in various aspects. Naruto finally got the attention and validation he needed by his will and tenacity and character, he then was given the proper care and education he was lacking. The result brought about exponential growth that his actually-special origin wouls have only hinted at, but it doesnt mean he is a genius or even that the "genius vs hard work" aesop was undermined. Naruto wouldnt have made it on his own. The entire point became more of a nuanced take on seeing the value in the underdog and the importance of taking an active hand in the cultivation of the future, they were all sprouts that grew into trees, all of the konoha 12 in their own ways. All lacked things and needed lessons taught that made them even better by the War. Overall a lot of people go to spurn the series because it seemingly contradicted one of its foundational ideals and lessons, but i say it simply evolved that lesson for the reader.
0:05 the guy literally mastered sage mode. A technique that jiraiya tried to master all his life and even someone like minato couldn't master and the only person who could learn it was the sage of six path.
@@ashimbeast4732That's not what he said, so I'd recommend getting your facts right before saying some snarky sh*t. He stated that he doesn't like using it because it takes him too long to gather the enegry and he likes end fights quickly. He does take longer than naruto to gather the energy, but he's obviously mastered sage mode. All you have to do is look at the eyes. A perfected sage mode doesn't have any physical differences besides the eyes, at least for toad sages. That's why Jiraiya gets warts and stuff when he transforms into imperfect sage mode.

Counter argument, in a world where people can use chakra and normally train for years to become a ninja having a large amount of chakra and the ability to train more than others due to faster recovery rate *is* being a genius Just like genius athletes who have good genes and can naturally run faster than others
I'm pretty sure Naruto couldn't use the rasengan properly as a teen because Kurama didn't allow him to have good chakra control. If he didn't have that restriction, he would've been quick to learn most things, since he is already an out of the box thinker. Edit: We have seen he finally performed a 1 hand rasengan after befriending Kurama. I don't think that was a coincidence.

This is an interesting topic. I personally think he's a genius. He's the most realistic one there is in the show. We've seen him grow in every aspect and become more well rounded as he got older. He's always been a genius in battle strategies/tactics and it has always came to him naturally, that can't be argued, so by definition he is a genius. Regularly outsmarting other "geniuses" and prodigies in all your fights will solidify that, doesn't matter how well-rounded you are intellectually. See, the real problem is, as Six himself has admitted to when he said "when I say he isn't a genius I mean he isn't one like the other characters are", is we are discussing fictional characters and when it comes to intelligence Naruto is just among the more realistic ones. I know everyone has always been pampered with the typical silent but badass villains who know everhthing and is good at everything like Madara or the damn-near if not perfect heroes or antti-heroes like Boruto, Minato or Itachi, but they are not how geniuses really are supposed to be. Why do you think it's a lot harder to recognize a "genius" in real life? Why do you think it always takes someone proving themselves time and time again in their career or their craft(like Naruto has) before people finally can lebel them a genius? People got spoiled with these cliche genius characters for so many years who just never do anything wrong and are always 20 steps ahead or are never stupid/goofy sometimes and think that's the real mark of a genius. I'm saying this as a Batman fan mind you, I just think it's over-done. Naruto outsmarts other geniuses regularly throughout his fights. He has also succeeded where past geniuses failed, like Kakashi and Minato in applying a change in chakra nature and form to a base rasengan. Sure, he had the chakra to create the rasenshuriken and divide his training with clones but the fact remains he had the skill to apply the change in chakra nature and form remains. Kakashi and Minato couldn't ever do that in their lives regardless if they had the chakra for it. They don't need to create something as crazy as a Rasenshuriken just to add a change in chakra nature/form to the rasengan, they could have tried to create something obviously smaller scale and within their limits/capabilities but they still couldn't do it in their lifetimes. Unlike Minato, Itachi, Sasuke, Neji, Shikamaru, Kakashi, Madara, Isshiki, Momoshiki, Boruto, even Sakura and whatever other million geniuses you can name from the show, Naruto was brought up an orphan by himself. Sasuke knew proper taijutsu, fireball jutsu and shuriken jutsu all before he even entered the Academy. Naruto taught himself how to fight and survive/live on his own. He didn't have siblings or parents or a clan to teach him anything. He didnt get lucky like Rock Lee did and run into the Naruto version of Bruce Lee to personally train and raise him, Lee woulda been in the same boat if not even worse than Naruto at fighting if not for Guy. While everyone else was receiving the proper training and guidance they needed from their parents, even the weakest kids like Ino TenTen and Sakura, Naruto was figuring out what he wanted to eat every day and how he can just improve his general circumstances in life. Living by himself, fishing for food with a pitiful monthly allowance from Hiruzen. Naruto has never been stupid, just in educated, in fact he has also always displayed high emotion intelligence even as a child which is a mark of high intelligence overall. So as I said, imo Naruto is a genius, and he's a lot more of one than people give him credit for.

Naruto when it comes to sage mode is only dwarfed by Hashirama, also not to mention in case of sage mode people forget that there was a huge downside that Naruto had which was Kurama, Kurama actively tried to before the war arc especially to hinder his sage transformation which kurama even confirmed in the sense that i remember reading somewhere in the manga that he was jealous that Naruto was using sage chakra instead of him, in any case the point is Naruto was being actively in a sense hindered by Kurama but he became the best sage in the series (Hashirama excluded may be until Boruto not sure about this yet)
@@arnavthegreat4483 Naruto and Hashirama come from the same ancestors, but I understand what you mean about having to live in the waring states period and being from the senju clan meant he was always training or fighting...
I disagree completely, Sasuke is the easiest parameter to measure Naruto against. Despite what the fanon would have you believe Naruto is strongly implied to be both lazy(sleeps in school) and impatient. He doesn’t do drills regularly, and goofs off often. Compare this to Sasuke who is literally always training. And yet, once the dude gets a few tips here, a few techniques there he can throw hands with literally anyone. Naruto is a beast of a physical genius and yes that’s a thing, its what most top sportsmen are. Also how are you going to say that creativity is not a genius trait?
Genius means you get things quickly. Naruto is not that. He is unorthodox and creative e which can make him unpredictable The best example of this is Sasuke unlocking a chakra nature at age 7 and taking less than a month to unlock another one, along with a new jutsu Naruto needed clones to achieve unlocking a chakra nature that would e taken in far longer than a month
@@aceclover758 That’s not what genius means. Genius means someone whose talent/ability is beyond the standard deviation of humanity. It is very difficult to capture in abstract intelligence, and creativity is considered part of intelligence too. Naruto is a bigger genius than Sasuke considering that he was able to keep up with him despite coming from a far less privileged background.
Thundergod has become one of my favs as well in the anime dissection community, so seeing you two have opposite videos made my genuinely laugh lol great idea guys
six the problem with you comparing minato and naruto using jutsu is that minato didnt have a tailed beast in him before his death. i say this because jiraiya stated that the reason naruto has trouble controlling his chakra is because kurama is constantly messing with it therefore making the seal weaker. Thats a problem that minato never had which is why its a terrible comparison.
What about when kurama talks about how easily Naruto was able to share his chakra with others while making it compatible putting both kushina and minato to shame?
I'm all for combat skill analysis and power scaling conversations and whatnot but some arguements such as as this really misses the point on why certain characters fight the way they fight and what these fights really mean. Kishimoto explores the concept of genius in very interesting ways especially the notion that genius presents itself in different forms, most prevelent example being Rock lee. Lee is even called by kakashi a genius just by showcasing the labour of his hardwork. he wasnt particularly talented at anything and couldnt use ninjutsu. this is most definitely an allegory for autism the way that people on the spectrum seem unassuming intelligence wise yet can excell at a particular skill in lee's case his hyperfocus on training. Granting him the title given by gai "genius of hardwork" and naruto embodies this idea and takes it further, during the chunin exams where naruto is met with all kinds of "special" kids all mastered their unique and mostly inherited fighting ways naruto comes out on top disproving all of the geniuses who fight to prove they are the most special. There is a point to why naruto keeps winning fights that is not answered by huge chakra reserves or kyubi amps. Fights in naruto are narrative based fights that arent decided by who is strong or not, they are fights of clashing wills and fought through ideologies. So there is a mistake to be made in analyzing fights in a purely iq and power analysis mode when these are not the nature of these fights and not what kishimoto had in mind when writing them We all know that naruto is a proper undoubtouble dumbass, mf couldn't even spell chakra after he graduated from the academy but thats not the point. Naruto as a character is designed in a way to be a stark contrast to the cold hyper-rational ninja that the ninja world rewards, be it his struggles during childhood that left his only way of self expression to be obnoxiously loud and in your face, this couldnt be better reflected with the shadow clone jutsu. Where naruto proves doofus and lacks discipline he makes up for it in "gutsiness". when you cant hear his voice you are then made to hear a 100 of it. thats what the shadow clone jutsu symbolises that he is not your standart rigid ninja but he will keep up and surpass them in his own unique way if it takes taking full advantage of one thing he can do good, naruto will utilize that until it is milked to the bone because naruto is the definition of a doer, he doesn't see any limitation others see in him and this results in him finding his own way to prevail. This is a bit of a long topic but the theme given most importance in naruto and by characters in the world of naruto is the preservation of the people/village/next generations namely, the will of fire. The most looked upon shinobi is the one who embodies the will of fire, the hokages are acknowledged by all because of this, not because of their fighting output, thats what makes them actually strong (not literally but kind of). The high level shinobi in the world of naruto are never interested in comparing strenghts, fighting is done to protect and preserve not for sport, and neither it is for kishimoto who writes these characters and naruto understands the will of fire intrinsically. Due to his upbringing and affinity for empathy he understood that the people aren't greater than the person and failing a person of konoha is the same as failing konoha itself. This hollistic view is unique to naruto and is in contrast with the classic shinobi ideals which always puts the "greater good" first which is a foreign concept to naruto. He is not a philosopher, but due to his concepts of "friends" and "acknowledgement" and "promises" which all shaped from his childlike notions and matured brilliantly all throughout naruto. he never once gave into the ideals of the world around him even when the whole world was against him and instead held onto his empathy. In the end he was acknowledeged by all, even his enemies because he understood what nobody else didnt. When kakashi saw afterimages of minato in naruto and thought that he surpassed him, this doesnt translate to "naruto in sage mode beats minato" what kakashi saw is the next generation of will of fire that will be the hero of the shinobi world. And when naruto beat the cycle of hatred where his fellow reincarnate hashirama failed is because he is Naruto Uzumaki. so naruto is defininetly a genius of two things, he is a genius of gutsiness and emotional intelligence (doesnt really sound good together). which proved to be the kind of genius the shinobi world was in need of. And this is just to scratch the surface.
Even Kishimoto doesn't think Naruto is a genius. When he meets Hagoromo, Hagoromo tells him that he didn't inherit his parents' talent, and Naruto agrees.
@@nutsacksport Your comment doesn't address it. What talent was Hagoromo talking about? Minato is known to be a genius. If Hagoromo says Naruto didn't inherit his talent, you don't need a PHD to know he's refering to Minato's genius.

All the geniuses have large chakra pools. Though, I don’t think I can level with that argument that “he just has a large chakra pool.” Using shadow clones is a skill, you need to know how to do it and we’ve never seen MANY top tiers do it, and he did it as a genin. He, as a teenager, buffed EVERYONE fighting in the 4GNW with Kyuubi chakra, AND defeated KAGE level characters with his CLONES. That’s not just bc he has a “large chakra pool” it’s because he is a genius.
Not to mention Naruto being able to summon Gamabunta at the age of 12, a Sanin level summon, surviving being the nine tails jinchiruki as an infant, creating a new variant of Rasengan when Jiraiya and Minato couldn’t, being able to immediately utilized any new weapon or ability he gains in his arsenal to its best potential (truth seeking orbs, flight, elemental rasengans, etc) and so much more. Naruto is a genius. It’s just overlooked bc of his personality. They tried to narratively make him seem like a “hard work beats talent” character, but he was always a talented/genius who just worked hard.
In my opinion, Naruto is a genius, just not a prodigy. This is a lot of people in the franchise get wrong. So, ultimately, I respectfully disagree. I also think that sasuke did take drugs because he was more than willing to take mind awakening pills to make himeself stronger at the end of part 1 and was satisfied with that power.
@sixfromtokyo well this is just my opinion, but while feats are to some degree, what makes for tactics are also part of what makes a genius. For instance, Naruto tricks neji into thinking one of his clones was the real Naruto by holding one of his clones back. Maybe i should have elaborated before.
Why does having a large chakra supply not qualify Naruto as a genius? By that logic, Itachi is not a genius of genjutsu because you have to have a Sharingan to even try to do the genjutsu that he does. Personally, I think the idea of genius not being linked to strength or being able to beat people up is just flawed. A genius ninja is a strong ninja, and vice versa. Their strength is what gets them the label of genius.
Itachi is a genius because of all the people with a sharingan, none could match his level of genjutsu. We have people like hashirama and Madara who had crazy amounts of chakra. Hashirama can utilize the 100 healings technique an infinite number of times whereas people like Tsunade and Sakura have to store up a large chakra pool to do a limited version of it. Naruto has the same if not more chakra than them but his ninjutsu is nowhere near their level and he had a tailed beast to help out in certain situations. Comparing hashirama with the current Naruto (who doesn't have kurama) is an even matchup. Both are perfect sages, both have crazy amounts of chakra, both were hokage and both are reincarnations of ashura but hashirama would still beat the shit out of current Naruto. Naruto is by no means a genius just because he has so much chakra. He just doesn't utilize it to the fullest at all.
@@Randomguy1d if we're using that metric then genius means top of your field isn't true. Also comparing hashirama in Naruto to Naruto in boruto is not a fair comparison by any stretch they literally got nerfed into oblivion because if they didn't they couldn't write a story.

He literally withing a matter of hours of attaining the power of all the other biju made each and everyone of their power his own.
Naruto progression throughout the series isn’t that he becomes a genius but he becomes a great ninja despite him not being a genius…. Through hard work, dedication and a shit ton of chakra…
He's a genius but not a traditional genius in the sense of grasping concepts quickly when explained to him and learning naturally quickly (without clones), he's a genius in his creativity, determination and empathy. Part of the themes of the story is showing that everyone has potential even if traditional ways of teaching fails them. They might look dumb but they just learn and think differently, which is exactly Naruto's case.
Naruto is not a genius but saying he has no talent is BS. Jiraiya cant say that about Naruto, he like everyone else who were supposed to be there for him, abandoned him for the first 12-13 years of his life so he can stfu with the rest of the deadbeats. Naruto has talent but because of his lack of upbringing and the results of that, he has what I would call nerfed talent. If he had been raised and trained properly and his secret kept safe then I think Naruto would have been just fine. Maybe on par or slightly below Sasuke, maybe better. I don't think he would have been a genius but he certainly would never have been dead last. Jiraiya saying Naruto has no talent isn't fair by that point the damage had already been done and he is partly to blame for it.
Jiraiya was good mentor but not good teacher.Naruto might not be prodigy but Naruto was not genius is b.s at age 16 Naruto surpass all Sannin and Sasuke and high BIQ then most of them.
That's true he didn't even have a basic foundation and unknowingly figured out change in Chakra form. Years of neglect and everyone treats him like an idiot. Naruto wanted to learn more than the rasengan and Jiraya said no 3 years and nothing. I guess Kishimoto liked Sasuke and the others more than the Naruto himself.
Facts! I say it all the time, give Naruto the same upbringing as whoever your comparing him to then go from thier. Madara is a genius, and damn near killed everyone because he was so easily manipulated. Same with Indra, Itachi and Sasuke. Hiruzen was a genius, called the professor, was the most power person in the village, both physically and politically, yet he couldn't figure out how to give Naruto a proper childhood. Neji, genius, decided to try and kill the one main branch who genuinely cares for him and is trying to free him from clan slavery. If any of the above mentioned genius were in Naruto's place they would have destroyed the village the moment the discovered they could used the Kurama's powers.
No, i do not agree with anyone saying, that naruto was alone or had no upbringing, minato, kakashi, orochimaru were all orphans since young, naruto just isn't on that genius level, he can be called a outside the box thinker.
Great video and I agree. In my opinion, genius in Naruto are those that can create jutsu from scratch. I would say Lady Tsunade is genius as well. Basically all the Sonin are geniuses. Orichimaru can prolong his life, tsunade can also do the same. They are both equally knowledgeable about the anatomy and chakra network. Naruto healed Guy inexplicably, but not because he knows so much about the body. He's just built different. I like Naruto because he is the result of when talent works hard. No one else in the series ever trains their clones as well to learn more.

@@yikes313 Bro don’t do this he is a genius what are you even trying to get at? Outside of statements from others my ass obito has 0 people calling him a genius
@@Est_1.997 I’m not saying Itachi isn’t a genius I’m just saying something that’s exclusive to just him, because other geniuses are considered geniuses for different reasons, it’s why I said exclusive, Kakashi also graduated to Anbu around that age too, he also had lightning timing at that age too. Someone like Neji was far from Anbu at the age of 14 but that doesn’t mean he is not a genius, he’s just a genius from a different angle, why can’t it be the same for Naruto? The genius of Sasuke and the Genius of Naruto are in different fields. There’s no base stat that they all have to accomplish to earn the recognition genius
Naruto did exactly what Minato did. He took Minato jutsu and perfected and made it better. He perfected sage mode that an older Jiraya and Minato couldn't do. Naruto basically was handicapped by the ninetales in younger years and eventually overcame it to point he was able to tame the ninetales.
In regard to Rasengan learning time. Naruto needed 1 week only for the third stage. He trained first two for a lot longer while he and Jiraya searched for Tsunade. As for Minato needing 3 years: Minato INVENTED the thing! He did not have any water balls or whatnot and he could not abuse sahadow clones. Obviously he needed 3 years! Dude was figuring shit on the fly. If Minato was given the same instructions as Naruto he would have learned it in two days.
give anybody a pair of 3 tomoes and a stage 2 heavenly seal curse mark with 2 to 3 years of training with a sannin and they better be as strong as sasuke was😂 if orichamaru had that at that age he would never feel outclassed by someone with one of the best kekkai genkais and a genetic mutation buff😂
lol uzumaki’s are a stronger senju lol sharigan isn’t all that if you know how to take advantage of it. You overhype it. Comparing curse mark to nine tail is absurd when Naruto relied on kurama way more than sasuke with his curse mark.
Also what make you think he’d be better at it. Itachi is a genius amongst uchia. You just assuming orochimaru would be better do you know how many people had 3 tomoe sharigan? Danzo and óbito got a basement full of them
The difference with Naruto compared to those other people is that they were fed properly, trained well, and always knew they had potential since birth.
Bro really just made a vid to hate on the goat tf I don't think Naruto is your typical genius but I do think he's very creative and skilled at figuring out ways to work around his shortcomings, plus he does undeniably have a really great battle IQ. That combined with being insanely skilled gives him all he needs.
@@M4RV3 yea but being the reincarnation of one of the sons of Hagoromo didn't produce any benefits for him until he straight up met Hagoromo. Keep in mind that Hagoromo only gave Naruto and Sasuke powers because Madara was becoming a Kaguya level threat. If not for that, Naruto, just like Hashirama, would've never gotten Six Paths or the Sun Seal or any of that. All that being the reincarnate of Ashura entailed was that he would battle the reincarnate of Indra until one of them died which was his destiny. He defied that destiny. In terms of actual shortcomings though, his inability to form a Rasengan with a single hand which he supplemented using Shadow Clones. His inability to fuse with Pa and Ma for Sage Mode because of Kurama which led to him using the Shadow Clone transfer method. His setup to have Kurama gather nature energy and him fusing together 3 damaged Kurama clone avatars that he used to combat Sasuke's Indra Susano'O when he was normally too weak to face it. Figuring out how to throw the Rasenshuriken so he could actually use it without damaging himself again.
Yo, wasn;t the nine tails messing with naruto's chakra control almost the entirety of the series, which is one of the reasons why he couldn't fully master the rasengan til he was in the war? I just thought I would mention that.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't naruto learn jonin rank forbidden jutsu in less than half a day in ep 1... If Sasuke is a "genius" after learning c rank jutsu in a week. I think the fact that naruto managed to learn any jutsu at all with kurama actively nerfing his Chakra control lends credence to this. He's the same type of genius as Po from king fu panda he needed a different teaching style from conventional geniuses but as soon a he got the basics down he grew leaps and bounds by his comprehension
Kakashi said it usually takes years to learn an element (chapter 319 page 7). Sasuke was 7. At 16 Naruto needed thousands of clones to learn his. If I recall correctly Shadow Clone was forbidden due to dividing chakra in half. Not difficulty. Kurama's chakra only intereferred briefly during the exam due to Orochimaru's seal which Jiraiya removed.
@@Sasukeis6-0againstNaruto Half right half wrong. Kakashi also says he has sh*tty control because of the ninetails ch 90 page 8. Shadow clone jutsu is a b-rank jutsu. Fire all is c-rank (which can't possibly be that difficult if every Uchiha and their mother is expected to master it before adulthood.) Even obito knew how to do it and by all accounts he was somewhat of a dunce. If Sasuke is a genius for learning a lesser ranked jutsu that he he was actively taught by someone in a week. Naruto can't possibly not be a genius for learning a b-rank jutsu in an afternoon with no active instruction. Edit : I was wrong multi shadow clone jutsu is the jutsu he learned in the first episode and it's an A rank jutsu.
@@UnrealityMatrix Yeah.... I completely agree, a lot of these comments agreeing with this video and this video itself honestly are just moving the goal post of what a genius is both in universe and textbook definition.
I saw his battle iq in the beginning when he caught those Gato guards just with his transforming kunai. It may not be a huge feat but it speaks about his battle iq as a 12 year old who just graduated. Not booksmart but definitely streetsmart
All the geniuses mentioned at the start had families and/or access to support systems that helped them develop as ninja. Naruto did not. There are various forms of intelligence, Mozart and Einstein are irrefutable geniuses but their specialisations are on complete ends of the spectrum. His creativity and adaptability has been evident since the land of waves arc. We’re comparing styles of genius as opposed to actual genius. Sai and Asuma are ninjas people would call competent to smart, neither of them have battle iq feats like Naruto. To further my point, I don’t see anybody making arguments that Sasuke is more intelligent than Shikimaru because of him being able to keep up with Amado during the interrogation and even gained his respect. Naruto was going to have massive chakra reserves and recovery speeds regardless due to him being Uzumaki and being the son of Minato, do we discredit Sasuke and Itachi as geniuses since they were born to use the sharingan? Naruto is a different type of genius but his battle iq, creative and problem solving are so elite that he deserves the title of genius. I respect your opinion but I think you’re not taking everything into consideration here
When we say genius, we mean they get things faster than their peers and are always ahead of them. You are conflating it with intellectual intelligence. Since the term genius is making you confused, replace it with prodigy instead. Naruto isn't a prodigy because he always had trouble learning things, and it had nothing to do with him not having a family. He just wasn't born that way.
@@pkj2148I would completely disagree, if he wasn’t a genius, or prodigious he wouldn’t have been able to do many of the things he did, like learning the Rasengan in 4 days . Learning the multiple shadow close jutsu in less than an episode . There are multiple instances of him being a genius or “prodigious”
@@pkj2148not to mention the part where naruto and sasuke were competing on who can get to the top of the trees first. Sakura ate them up but no one considers her a genius.
@@jroberts3577 He didn't learn the Rasengan in four days, but in a bit over a month. Kakashi literally says his use of the Shadow Clone is crappy. He is just able to brute force his way into it because of his massive amounts of chakra. Nothing in the series suggests it is a hard jutsu to learn. Exacly. Sakura isn't considered a genius because she was ahead of no one. She was able to get up the tree before them because she was booksmart. Sasuke is a genius because he was always able to get ahead of the others pretty quickly.
Saying Naruto is carried by high chakra is like saying the Uchiha are cheaters for using their eyes. Naruto may be able to train more than the average person, but he still mastered techniques that even high level shinobi couldn’t. He mastered Sage mode in like a week and surpassed the Pervy Sage to boot. Sure he used shadow clones, but he learned the skill in a fraction of a time compared to his master who took a lifetime. That takes more than high chakra.
Sharingan is their natural power whereas Kurama is an entire other living entity. "May be able to" - it's confirmed (chapter 162 pages 9-10, chapter 315 pages 7-10). Fukasaku said without a lot of chakra (which Naruto has thanks to Kurama) nature energy would immediately overcome the user (chapter 412 page 11). Remove these advantages & he's below the norm.
Sage mode and the majority of Naruto 's skill are just because he has large chakra . It is litteraly the explanation for anything he does. When you compare him against all the genuis in the show the difference is abyssal when you look the talent
Great video man, having high potential doesn’t make you a prodigy. The amount of people who say he’s a prodigy so it ruins the themes of Naruto drive me crazy.
This conversation has always been intriguing to me. Especially since Naruto never really had proper guidance growing up outside of Kakashi who barely spent time 1 on 1 with him. Jiraiya spent most of his training time restricting the 9 tails so Naruto basically was on his own when it came to learning and innovation. The closest we got to that was his sage mode training
Exactly. I hate how people gloss over this shit. If Naruto was raised properly and trained properly from the beginning, he wouldn't have many issues. I don't think he'd be a genius but he'd be well above average imo. He has talent. It's just nerfed talent.
@@speedy4574 Naruto literally can't train without the 9 tails crashing out jiraiya himself stated that when he tried training naruto and he got frusturated the 9 tails chakra would leak out and he'd start crashing out, then he started doing training on helping naruto control the 9 tails so he could actually train him but it didn't work also and he got his lungs smashed in. So all he could help naruto with was improving his basics.
@@speedy4574 And the only time naruto was able to develop a new jutsu or learn something was when yamato was present. Constantly suppressing its power.
We don't know what Jiraiya spent most of his training time on, that's headcanon. For all we know, Naruto just wasn't able to learn fast enough, so he had to slow the training down.
i get the premise of the video, but there's something that is being overlooked in the entire argument: naruto had bad formal education up to the age of 12. A massive setback due to having no one at home to raise him, alongside the fact that he obviously learns from proper firsthand experience and isn't a very analytical person. Where others would have the opportunity to go home and get further hands on teaching, naruto was busy budgeting his monthly allowance and delinquency for any form of attention. Even after getting into his team, it's arguable that he still didn't see the same care and attention that sasuke did. Most of his learning is solely out of rivalry with sasuke. Sasuke got the most from team 7, and even benefited from observing naruto's out of the box thinking. It's not until jiraiya is in the picture that someone is actually being a hands on teach with naruto, but the damage is done and everyone has a massive headstart over naruto, which is why he had to train his fundamentals over the timeskip. Everyone who naruto is compared to was given the full toolbox at the start, where naruto was given the 'Adam Savage: Every tool is a Hammer' until jiraiya gives him a helping hand. The fact that he's being compared to them to begin with should already show that he is a genius despite being in the wrong 'weight class' basically. Still naruto's genius is creativity instead of the typical academic of other's. Given a proper education during his early childhood, it's not hard to imagine him completely overshadowing others. On the rasenshurikan, I honestly think this is just minato and kikiashi not wanting to invest the time to actually develop it. They would have to further prefect mastery of the shadow clone, to either be more efficient or have more control despite not having as much energy as naruto. They saw the potential prereqs. and said nah. If either of them had bothered to train up enough to have a single clone more functional, probably not even to the degree of naruto's, they could have done it and many more things. It's honestly a knock against them rather then against naruto.
Naruto being weak after the time skip is not his fault does not prove anything. The reason he was not strong after his time skip was because of the nine tailes even Jiraya said it himself while yes he was not a genius compared to Itachi he is still a genius in his own regard
I mean, the story of Naruto focused on hard worker Naruto vs. gifted genius Sasuke for a good portion of the story (though Naruto's large chakra pool definitely leans towards gifted). While he did have a massive chakra pool, it worked to his detriment for his early years because he was terrible at using such a large pool with any level of efficiency. Not to mention Kurama and the seal containing him working against Naruto majority of the time. I think Naruto was meant to show the viewers that learning and mastering things conventionally like Sasuke, Kakashi, and Minato doesn't have to be the only way, and that you can find completely new ways to learn that works for you, like Naruto does.
Sasuke specifically shit talks Orochimaru for using drugs and forbidden jutsu to boost himself. If Sasuke was on drugs, there's no way he could deny it to the person who would be giving them to him without being called out. Sasuke absolutely was not on drugs.
Sasuke literally has a curse mark that is corrupted Orochimaru’s Chakra + Natural Chakra, took Orochimaru’s chakra after killing him, and then took Itschi’s eyes when he went blind. He’s not above cheating. Dude is a hypocrite.
@@edwinsolis5710 And that's not even considering the fact that the first two weren't optional and the later wasn't even wanted until he was literally nerfed from his own power. Nice try, bud. Do better next time.
I would love your video analyzing Naruto battle IQ. He has some impressive feats (Akamaru transformation, hole strat against Neji). That or best battle IQ feats in the series (Neji vs Kidomaru, anything from Shikamaru, Shino or Kankuro) would be great!
Hard disagree on this video, like this is honestly such a crazy take to have. For starters, the series itself destroys this video because when Kakashi watches Lee go into the gates the first thing he says is "The kid is a Genius." while literately the entire point of Rock Lee was that he had no talent and had to work twice as hard as everyone else. Lets discuss the Rasengan slander. it NEVER said it took Minato 4 years to develop the jutsu... it said it took him 4 years to master it and EVEN then it had also taken both Kakashi and Jiraiya considerable time to master it. Tsunade gave him what she thought was an impossible task.... and at the end of the day Naruto managed to complete the task... It took Sasuke the 'genius' a Whole month to be able to use the Chidori... and he has a Sharingan.
Lee is a Taijutsu genius, but not a genius as a ninja. He just wasn't aware of this. Also, the Rasengan and Chidori are not the same jutsu, so it isn't a good argument to compare how long it took for Sasuke to learn the Chidori to how long it took for Naruto to learn the Rasengan.
@@pkj2148 The Rasengan and Chidori are very similar as Kakashi was inspired by the Rasengan and made the Chidori. They are also both Rank A Jutsu and are both used the same way and you could even argue that the Rasengan is harder to use as it has multiple layers to properly use it vs the Chidori which requires you to pull an excessive amount of chakra into one of your arms and use your Lighting release. It doesn't matter, a Genius is a Genius and Taijutsu is an important part of being a Ninja.
@@ChaoticHeretic Very similar doesn't mean they have the same learnign curve. They aren't even the same type. One is a change in chakra nature while the other is a change in chakra form. They also don't have the same effect, being used the same way isn't nearly enough. It does matter. If you isolate somethng enough, anyone can be called a genius. A excellent overall Basketball player would be called a genius in Basketball, but a player who is good at only shooting would never be called a genius. They could call him a genius at shooting though.
@@pkj2148 Learning the Rasengan in a week when it took everyone years to do it would by default make Naruto a Genius. The Rasengan and Chidori are very similar, both concentrate chakra into the palm of your hand and both require you to run and slam the chakra gathered in your hand into the enemy. The methods to activate these abilities are different with the Chidori being easier as it literately just requires you to pour an enormous amount of your chakra into your palm but the Rasengan has at least 3 stages to it. Literately most of Naruto is Sasuke finding out that Naruto is more special than he is (Because despite his attitude, he is a Genius.) The differences between the two jutsu aren't so vast that they shouldn't be compared in this regard... especially when they are compared in every other regard... I mean there are more examples too.... Neji learned the Rotation in that month too and yes.... the point stands that Naruto learns jutsu faster than these 'geniuses' A Genius is still a genius... Kakashi can only open 3 gates while Lee can open 5 and Kakashi is a Genius
Firstly there are several different kinds of “genius”. And even if you didn’t ignore several intelligence feats and all the dumb things the other geniuses did (especially minato and orochimaru)… your logic is “Naruto isn’t as smart as the smartest shinobi to ever live, therefore he’s not a genius” no. By that logic Minato isn’t a genius either cuz he’s not as smart as Kabuto, Orochimaru, Tobirama ect. There would only be one genius in the verse. That’s like saying Larry Bird wasn’t an elite basketball player cuz prime Lebron, MJ, and Kobe were better than him. If you’re even top 100 all time you’re still a genius. Even Albert Einstein didn’t have a top 100 IQ all time, are we just saying he wasn’t a genius then?
What a straight up yap session. We’re just gonna forget the fact that Naruto has some of the best taijutsu in the show and never formally trained in it like the others. Not only that but as others have pointed out all of the other “geniuses” also had high chakra levels it’s and couldn’t come to the same feats. Not to mention things like teaching konohamaru the rassengan or the fact that even though he couldn’t do a normal transformation Jutsu do to not studying but he made his own version to prank older men. Just goes to show he always had it in him he just never had any structure
There's such a thing as creative genius. That's Naruto. He's very talented, very creative, but not very bright. Most adult shinobi in the Naruto verse are chunin. They should have the chakra pool necessary to safely make a single shadow clone. Yet the Shadow Clone Jutsu is still a Jonin-level ability. Not only that, it's a Jonin-level ability that most strong characters with deep chakra pools don't even use. Because they probably don't even know how. It was invented by the second Hokage, meaning that for all of shinobi history up until that point, this jutsu didn't exist. All of these facts together suggest that the Shadow Clone Jutsu is not an elementary technique, trivial for anyone with a deep chakra pool to perform. It's not kindergarten-level complexity with adult-level resource cost. We shouldn't downplay the talent required for an Academy student, who repeatedly failed at using the basic clone jutsu due to his chakra control being sabotaged by a literal demon inside him, to learn the Forbidden S-rank variant in the Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu. He HAS to be talented to pull that off. And we see plenty of evidence for that talent later on. His Demon Wind Shuriken strategy against Zabuza. Him copying elements of Sasuke's Lion's Barrage, which itself copied elements of Lee's Lotus technique, and adapting it to create the Uzumaki Barrage. Achieving a functional rasengan within a week, while Tsunade was sure that he would never be able to pull it off at all, and coming up with his own creative solution to achieve it. His victory over Neji, another clever solution against an opponent who outmatched him. His incredibly fast mastery over Sage Mode despite being handicapped by Kurama, and consequently not having the benefit of Fukasaku's help like Jiraiya and Minato had. For him to far outclass the Toad Sage of Mount Myoboku himself, in such a short time, with such a handicap, demonstrates immense talent that could and should be compared to Minato. Aside from Minato's Chunin exam stats, Naruto has far more and far better feats to demonstrate his talent and creative genius. If Minato is a genius - and he is - so is Naruto. Hell, if Neji is a genius, so is Naruto. If Lee is a genius of hard work, Naruto should be considered a genius of talent and creativity. Naruto literally has some of the best battle IQ feats in the entire series. The downplay is crazy.
Why is this even a topic of discussion no one ever claimed him to be a genius… they actually make him out to be an idiot the entire series even at the end when he has all his powers maxed out he forgets that he has to use sage jutsu vs obito… which which is weird cuz he lowkey figured it out first along with gamakichi
Before the Minato flashback chapter(?), the statement that it took him years to perfect the Rasengan could mean so many different things. When comparing modern Naruto and Naruto during the first few arcs, it's really important to keep in mind what the world around the characters was like at the moment (before the War Arc crushed scaling so far into the ground). I can believe that when it's said that Minato took three years to perfect the technique, he went though a somewhat similar process in addition to spending his time "perfecting" FTG.
7:54 I’ve always ignored the “Sasuke may be using drugs” plot point because their logic doesn’t align with anything else we’ve seen with Power increases in the story. Naruto himself was just kinda lame considering he trained for 2 years straight. If anything Sakura had the craziest leap in terms of power increase.
Sasuke was able to embarrass a squad with a Jonin and two strong fighters without using his amps, that's why they think he's really strong. But their coordination was low and the team was mentally nerfed. So they probably had a slightly inflated view of base Sharingan Sasuke's strength
I'm surprised even Kakashi went along with it. In 15 days Sasuke not only developed his second nature element, which Kakashi said usually takes *years* (chapter 319 page 7), but also gained base weightless Lee's level of high-speed taijutsu despite having been much slower than weighted Lee. 2 and a half years is plenty of time to gain what he displayed. Super speed, Chidori Stream, Kenjutsu, & Sharingan mastery to subdue Kurama.
I'm going to be debunking things here. First off, the Kage Bunshin feat, happened in one day, he learned a Jutsu in one day. Second off, Itachi performed the Gokyaku at the age of 6 or 7ish which disproves your point. You can try and say it's filler, but it's also in the Light Novels which are canonical to the source material. Third, you're definition of Genius must be skewered. You are telling me that Naruto learning a Jutsu like the Rasengan in a week is not impressive? Stop the cap, Naruto learning the Rasengan in a week is impressive. First off, what you are claiming makes the person who made Morphine is not a genius because Opium was a thing, and was a blueprint that lead to Morphine being discovered? Or how about medical students having to learn about this stuff from blueprints and I'm not sure about this but they're might be a test where they recreate a Medication they see. Are they too be treated as not geniuses for simply looking at blueprints and copying them? Second off, Naruto using Kage Bunshin to help with the Rasengan shows his ability to think, realise a flaw, and adapt to correct it, classic Genius move. Most Geniuses have failed at some point, or have flaws, and they adapt, they have a mind that can adapt when they fail. 3rd, you've got to remember one thing, Minato was a once in a generational Prodigy, WHO HAD A BLUEPRINT TO WORK OFF OF. The Rasengan was based on the Bijudama, which debunks that not instantly, as Minato did indeed create the Rasengan from scratch which is impressive, but it does take some credit away. The Minato Manga showing him forming it in one day is to be taken with a grain of salt as we've always heard that it had taken 3 years for Minato to create the Rasengan, which means corners were cut, and also it should be taken with a grain of salt as at the end we see Minato beat Kurama's Bijudama with a singular Rasengan. The argument you tried to make her is ignorant to how a Genius is defined, but disingenuous to Naruto's other feats. Actually let's take a look at one I did not see you cover, and try to debunk. Naruto getting the jump on Zabuza, a Jonin. Naruto was the one who not only made the Shuriken plan, adapted for his own shortcomings, but learned from a previous lesson where he had Sasuke throw the Shuriken to free Kakashi from the Water Prison, each part of that was Naruto's plan, not Sasuke's, nor Sakura's but Naruto's. Naruto's progression through the timeskip was 100% hindered by Jaraiya, in the Light Novels we learn that Jaraiya purely focused on getting Naruto to master Kurama's Chakra during the 3 year timeskip, this is why he gives in a lot more to the Kyuubi, as her was used to it's Chakra. Sasuke was also being experimented on to gain more strength. Why wouldn't Sasuke take drugs to enhance his ability to grow? Sasuke was willing to do everything in his power to catch up to and surpass his brother, and Orochimaru wanting to test his drugs, as he is a scientist, would have Sasuke test his drugs. Whilst it is speculation Sasuke's and Orochimaru's characters are in line with said speculation. Rasenshuriken training? On Reddit somebody actually did the calcs and concluded that Naruto without his clones would have made the Rasenshuriken in 2 and half years. They did this by assuming that Naruto had 1000 clones do the actual training each day, calculated the hours they performed, how many times will one go Kyuubi and have to be taken out, with this they came to that conclusion. 2, it's similar argument to what I made earlier during the Rasengan but does Kakashi coming up with the idea, take away from Naruto's ability to grow and adapt? No, it does not you disingenuous nincompoop. Minato is implied to have not been able to as well, during the War Arc, and again, Naruto's adaptability is on show again. A Genius is defined as this "Genius is a characteristic of original and exceptional insight in the performance of some art or endeavour that surpasses expectations, sets new standards for the future, establishes better methods of operation, or remains outside the capabilities of competitor.. While intelligence is a prerequisite of genius status, there are other things at play here, including creativity, self-awareness, and an innate ability to ask questions few others have ever asked. According to The Hidden Habits of Genius, geniuses have 14 personality traits in common, including work ethic, resilience, originality, childlike imagination, insatiable curiosity, passion, rebelliousness, obsession, and concentration." Most of these traits Naruto has.
When you're blessed with limitless chakra, very little that you do is impressive. Especially when the main reason you're able to do it is your limitless chakra.
@@tinamoul Genius is something you cultivate and apply. You can't get stabbed through the chest and regenerate because of genius, or have your chakra points completely closed and just reopen them because of genius. Sasuke having skill isn't exactly given to him. We see him burning his mouth to make better fireballs right along side everyone else who has to try. Naruto just makes a million clones while constantly healing.
@@SuperSaku1that’s nasty. Most is “limitless chakra” was being used to suppress the nine tails. That’s impressive. The fact he was able to learn and master high level ninjutsu while suppressing a biju. Plus it takes skill to know how to use and control that massive amount of chakra.
You are TO ME changing what genus means relative to the show in Naruto genus is really not about IQ or strategic thinking others the Nara clan would have many members listed as genus or at least the two we know. Genus in the Naruto is the ability to be profound and cutting-edge. And there are several things that aid him in perfecting this moves you pointed out but that does mean he's not a genus. Sasuke comes from a very talented family of the Uchiha, with his dad being talented himself. That does make his ability to do fireball at a very young age not impressive. Also Orochimaru had more information to give than Jahriya, who has clan specific moves, and was was far more interested in protecting Naruto than training him. Next specifically the context I think a level of context needs to be added to this entire video naruto never learned anything until he absolutely needed to, which post SM we know he has the agility to learn high lvl complex justu and things but do not, it's not a lack of ability (which would make him more qualified for this genus status) you could speculate that there are narrative reason Kish didn't want him to be learning a bunch of new moves but aside from that who know.
Jiraiya wanted Naruto to become strong enough to defend himself from the Akatsuki. Training him to be self-sufficient is protecting him. He wasn't taught things sooner because it was too advanced for him. Besides, if he was really a genuis he would *create* something of his own like Tobirama, Minato, Orochimaru, Kakashi, & Sasuke. Narrative excuse doesn't work either. Kishimoto could have easily had him begin learning things during the time skip but not master until after. And if he (Kishimoto) didn't think of something til after, like Sage Mode, he could write it in as a flashback.
"Well actually, using shadow clones to help him learn isn't as genius as just being born talented at learning it." Like bro its the same result due to inherent gifts. The whole video is just making the goal posts as narrow as possible and speculating on how hard others were "really trying" to accomplish things Naruto accomplished. Reeking of copium
Naruto's chakra control was being nerfed till kcm due to kuruma. Not mentioning this makes this video somewhat incomplete or disingenuous. Further somewhat semantic point, someone with superlative creativity would still be a genius, by definition. If you're talking specifically about intellectual genius, you'd maybe want to stay away from ninjutsu and probably hone in more on battle IQ comparisons.

Being a genius in Naruto is connected more so to intelligence. All the aforementioned geniuses in Naruto. Didn't only have strong jutsu. But they knew intrinsically how to apply them to situations. For instance take Kakashi and the sharingan. He did something with the sharingan apparently most Uchiha never even thought of. Utilizing it to read the opponents chakra and hand signs to copy their jutsu. Sometimes, even without the proper nature to do so. THAT IS SOME GENIUS SHIT Neji inferred on his own how to develop the gentle fist into the highest level. Without any training or guidance from the main house. Who specifically keep further utilization of the gentle fist sacred. THAT IS SOME GENIUS SHIT Having someone hold your hand to perfect a new jutsu. Then, having 10 thousand clones fuck up and learn. Repeatedly isn't genius. Comparatively, Minato saw a bijuudama 1 time. Went back home and found out that humans can make mini bijuudamas. And people will literally try to sit in their little chairs with their cheetoh puffs and doritos. And try and argue you down. Naruto was always a genius. Like Naruto isn't supposed to learn new shit. He supposed to fumble his way into a victory every time, apparently.

Naruto’s very smart in terms of combat/unpredictability, not overall intelligence which is why he’s not called a “genius”

I would say Naruto isn’t a genius like Minato, Boruto, Sasuke, or any of the other prodigys in the series, but he is a hardwork merchant and has really good intuition and creativity. His physically blessings help his other talents flourish and it helps to cover in the areas he lacks in.

Scenario 2: "naruto's alone and still doesnt have the nine tails chakra"
Chakra flow would be stable, only thing he'll have is an uzumaki reserves. He'd be neji leveld but no where near sasuke Shippuden level
Scenario 3, same as 2 but Jiraya somehow teaches him, could likely do a basic rassengan, minato never mastered charka form rassengan, naruto wont either. Multi Shadowclones will kill him still (not even sasuke with all his reserves at the end of the series would summon 100x shadowclones, no one will) would need two frogs if decides to train for sage mode. @@mryellow6918 thank you, someone who actually researches things they talk about
Simple reasons why I believe Naruto is a prodigy:
- Didn't have a real teacher until Kakashi, both parents died and had no real teacher whereas we know Sasuke learnt shit from Fugaku and Itachi
- Learnt Multi Shadow Clone in a day without a teacher just through a scroll
- Learnt Rasengan at the age of 12
- Became the first ever Shinobi to add a change in Nature to Rasengan at the age of 15, Which Geniuses like Kakashi and Minato and a Kind off Genius may be i.e. Jiraya could not do.
- Learned/Perfected Sage mode in the less than a month at 15 years of age (While being hindered by Kurama)
- Controlled the Strongest Tailed beast and learnt high level of Chakra control enough to distribute it to the whole of the alliance at 15
- Learnt to not only add his signature wind style but every other possible style to his Rasen Shuriken
- BECAME THE STRONGEST FUCKING NINJA to ever live AT 15 YO above Hashirama and Madara.
Being a genius is not the same as talent. I can be born with a strong and athlethic body but still be bad at sports.
@@eze1196 I can’t tell which way you are arguing. From the sound of it, you aren’t talented OR a genius. A bad parallel to Naruto, whose talent DOES yield actual results.
I just commented something along these lines
Minato has a horrible time gathering the nature energy, but when he does have that said nature energy he uses it perfectly.
Even jiraya and naruto cheats by respectively using the toads and a clone to gather the chakra for them(at least until naruto started being able to use it at will)
So, in short, minato is THE assassin/dps whose whole kit is geared towards ending fights in seconds.
Regarding the sage mode, he deserves props for learning it while kurama was trying to hinder him
As well as that he was still using chakra after orochimaru sealed it.

Especially given he only prevented Naruto from using the Toads as a short-cut after using shadow clones as another. I think Genius is one of those words that gets thrown around a bit too liberally.
It's the prodigy problem of Dragonball
In naruto it basically means skilled. For example lee is called a failure but also a taijutsu genius. Hes skilled enough to get by with no chakra natures or kekai genkai. And is skilled enough to enough to open gates besides 8 without permanent injury.
It the example of why tell and don't show is a bad way to tell stories
It's especially a problem in Naruto, this series has a specific meaning for the word genius that runs parallel to how normal people might use it (extreme talent vs high IQ)
@@endoftheline8061 Pretty much how i would describe Naruto vs Sasuke
Genius:
1. exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability.
2. a person who is exceptionally intelligent or creative, either generally or in some particular respect.
That’s the definition of genius, and I do think Naruto, to a degree, is smart:
Chakra and intelligence aren’t linked, and to use ninjutsus, is purely a mental feat, same with whatever Naruto uses during his life.
And while yeah, he can’t make techniques the way his father can, he he can do things most, and even his father couldn’t:
*elemental infusions.*
The rasinshirikin was something Naruto made solely by himself, and yeah, he had to use multiple shadow clones when he first made it, it doesn’t dispute the fact he created a technique, which while can be argued to have been a copy of the rasangan, was still his own, and worked differently enough, and powerful enough to be a forbidden ninjutsu.
Also when making a case in favor of your position of these types of things, I think it's important to have your definitions well established and well outlined because the definition of genius that a quick Google search offered is: "exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability."
And by that very definition, Naruto would be a genius due to the ways that his natural Chakra reserves allow him to achieve success.
I get what your saying but Six is more then likely referring to “genius” in the traditional sense of what most people think of geniuses.
You don't get how MUCH OF A CHEAT CODE shadow clone was for naruto aren't you? at every turn where TALENT stopped him no other character in the history of Naruto had to make a shadow clone to fundamentally split a technique in two just to be able to do it that's how ass Naruto was he had to make a shadow clone to help him make one handed technique even Jiraiya who also was ass didn't needed something like that to be able to learn one handed technique
it's the same for rasenshuriken except now he's cheating even more because he used shadow clones to basically condense DECADES of training using thousands of shadow clones
"His natural chakra reserves" y'all always failing to acknowledge Kurama's own chakra leaking into him through the seal since birth was the very reason why Naruto had the largest chakra reserves
Naruto is not a genius in any sort of way He's clever and resourceful but not a genius Geniuses are like minato itachi and kakashi People who graduated the academy at 5 and had natural aptitude to everything if you are not hailed as genuis you are not
Even god himself goes to tell you Naruto is not genius Haguromo told us that Naruto did not inherited either if his parents special ability or traits basically comparing him to ashura who also was talentless

@@BlackoutdmcNaruto’s absurd chakra is his genetic gift. That doesn’t make him a genius
I just disagree, the application of using the clone to get around his own hurdles is genuis.
That's literally what the jutsu is for. So I don't see where the genius is.
@@Randomguy1d Nobody else has ever been shown to exploit it in that way.
@@jackooooooooo Naruto just uses it to try and overwhelm his opponents with numbers but it rarely works because his clones can not take a hit. Kakashi uses the cloning jutsu better.

This has to be clickbait because even by definition Naruto is literally a genius lol
No he isn't
@@sixfromtokyo such a great argument you presented… genius has multiple meanings and Naruto fits a few, but even more than that, I’ll provide context as to why he’s a genius.
1. Naruto created a 1000 shadow clones in chapter 1, when he literally couldn’t do a single shadow clone in the first few pages lol, even iruka acknowledged him for doing such
2. Naruto summoned gamabuntu to fight Gaara, despite only being able to summon a tadpole upon initial tries
3. Naruto perfected the rasengan, something even minato couldn’t do
4. Naruto mastered sage mode despite the fox making it harder for him, something jiraiya or minato couldn’t do
5. Naruto (alongside tobirama who was the second hokage) was the only one to realize sage energy effected juubito
9. Naruto was the one who realized he had to defeat his shadow self by knowing his inner Anger needed love
10. When minato acknowledged the mental intellect of Sasuke, he later compared Naruto to the same levels by surprise in the war arc
No matter how you spin it, Naruto is literally a genius with him fitting definitions such as “someone who influences good or bad”, “a peculiar, distinctive, or identifying character”, and “a person endowed with extraordinary mental spirit”.
@@jamevolve8380 allow me to correct some details :
1 - He made *Shadow Clones* .
@@Commandant_Aeon 3 - minato tried to add his chakra nature to the rasengan but couldn’t do it because he died prematurely
10- I could’ve worded it better, minato acknowledged Sasuke’s genius, and was surprised by the fact that Naruto also had comparable levels of genius, which occurred during the war arc.
As for everything else you just add context to the nature of the situation but nonetheless it proves why Naruto is a genius imo so I see no issue
@@jamevolve8380 didn't know about Minato trying to, but make sense.

He needed hundreds of clones comparable to him in intelligence to reach genius results.
it’s why he’s the number one knuckle head ninja
Honestly the best title for him
I feel like the arguments presented make a compelling case for why Naruto is less of a genius than some other people called a genius, but not that he isn't a genius in general by the Naruto world's standards

Before I watch the vid he’s a genius

Naruto when it comes to sage mode is only dwarfed by Hashirama, also not to mention in case of sage mode people forget that there was a huge downside that Naruto had which was Kurama, Kurama actively tried to before the war arc especially to hinder his sage transformation which kurama even confirmed in the sense that i remember reading somewhere in the manga that he was jealous that Naruto was using sage chakra instead of him, in any case the point is Naruto was being actively in a sense hindered by Kurama but he became the best sage in the series (Hashirama excluded may be until Boruto not sure about this yet)

He is unorthodox and creative e which can make him unpredictable
The best example of this is Sasuke unlocking a chakra nature at age 7 and taking less than a month to unlock another one, along with a new jutsu
Naruto needed clones to achieve unlocking a chakra nature that would e taken in far longer than a month
@@aceclover758 That’s not what genius means. Genius means someone whose talent/ability is beyond the standard deviation of humanity. I'm all for combat skill analysis and power scaling conversations and whatnot but some arguements such as as this really misses the point on why certain characters fight the way they fight and what these fights really mean.
Kishimoto explores the concept of genius in very interesting ways especially the notion that genius presents itself in different forms,
most prevelent example being Rock lee. Granting him the title given by gai "genius of hardwork"
and naruto embodies this idea and takes it further,
during the chunin exams where naruto is met with all kinds of "special" kids all mastered their unique and mostly inherited fighting ways naruto comes out on top disproving all of the geniuses who fight to prove they are the most special. There is a point to why naruto keeps winning fights that is not answered by huge chakra reserves or kyubi amps. Fights in naruto are narrative based fights that arent decided by who is strong or not, they are fights of clashing wills and fought through ideologies. So there is a mistake to be made in analyzing fights in a purely iq and power analysis mode when these are not the nature of these fights and not what kishimoto had in mind when writing them
We all know that naruto is a proper undoubtouble dumbass, mf couldn't even spell chakra after he graduated from the academy but thats not the point.

Nah he doesn't have the feats for it
@@sixfromtokyo feats don't equal genius though.
naruto has so much handed to him from birth and childhood it doesnt even matter if sasuke used drugs
@@danieltinsleykhvsff9622 how the fuck would you prove someone is a genius without feats?
@@ALUCARDTWILLIGHT let's be real here. Hashirama and Naruto without kurama are the most similar individuals. It's the most fair matchup for both of them. I've stated in my comment above some of the similarities they have yet we have to give Naruto kurama for him to be compared to hashirama. If Naruto was truly a genius then a nerf wouldn't affect him that much. He should be at the level of prime hashirama with the "nerf".
@@Randomguy1d lol my guy that's like saying oh if hashirama was a genius taking wood release from him wouldn't affect, nerf wouldn't affect him that's a ludacris statement to make .
@@Randomguy1d also by your own logic Naruto is a genius, since you said for Itachi because of all the people with a sharingan none could match his level of genjutsu. Naruto is the greatest jinchuriki bar none (except maybe the sage of six paths tho I'm not sure if he counts).
They might look dumb but they just learn and think differently, which is exactly Naruto's case.
i feel that perfecting a jutsu is being able to create the jutsu in as little chakra as possible.
When you are Child of prophecy what could any genius do.They talking about Uchiha they are all copycats not genius. @@baki484

As for Minato needing 3 years:

In terms of actual shortcomings though, his inability to form a Rasengan with a single hand which he supplemented using Shadow Clones. His inability to fuse with Pa and Ma for Sage Mode because of Kurama which led to him using the Shadow Clone transfer method. Kakashi said it usually takes years to learn an element (chapter 319 page 7). Sasuke was 7. At 16 Naruto needed thousands of clones to learn his.
Remove these advantages & he's below the norm.
naruto is a hypocrite bastard

@@pkj2148Thats how intelligence works in real life. Like a genius at biology but be a clueless engineer or teacher and vice versa
@@pkj2148 The Rasengan and Chidori are very similar as Kakashi was inspired by the Rasengan and made the Chidori.
Neji learned the Rotation in that month too and yes.... the point stands that Naruto learns jutsu faster than these 'geniuses'
A Genius is still a genius... Kakashi can only open 3 gates while Lee can open 5 and Kakashi is a Genius
Vid Idea:
Who has more chakra: Adult Naruto or Kaguya?

A normal person couldn’t use a rasengan, a smart person (like naruto) would use a clever method to learn it, a genius would just use it.
This is true
@@takatotakasui8307 >Inflated
Not at all. Sasuke owned them without even breaking a sweat.
@@Sasukeis6-0againstNaruto Yeah but they were barely fighting back. Can't ignore the context
As opposed to being blessed with genius?
@@tinamoul Genius is something you cultivate and apply. You can't get stabbed through the chest and regenerate because of genius, or have your chakra points completely closed and just reopen them because of genius.
Sasuke having skill isn't exactly given to him. We see him burning his mouth to make better fireballs right along side everyone else who has to try. Naruto just makes a million clones while constantly healing.
@@SuperSaku1 He is literally given the curse mark AND his brothers eyes AND Hagaromo's chakra. What are you talking about?
@@SuperSaku1that’s nasty. Most is “limitless chakra” was being used to suppress the nine tails. That’s impressive. The fact he was able to learn and master high level ninjutsu while suppressing a biju. Plus it takes skill to know how to use and control that massive amount of chakra.

Hes creative, and he never gives up. Those are his two best qualities.
@@user-kx4cm8sv6w even if he did that Naruto would still be a genius lol, you can be childish and still be a genius lol as a matter of fact most geniuses are funny
@@jamevolve8380 depends on where you set the bar for genius.
Overall you'd probably need to pick a character out and set them as the minimum for being genius and compare naruto to that.
Jiraiya fixed that before shippuden
@@Path3742 didn't. Fixing Kurama messing with Naruto's Chakra needed them becoming friends.
@@Commandant_Aeon 2 different things op was talking about naruto's chakra being disrupted by kurama until he befriended him but jiraiya had already removed the seal that was causing naruto issues
Now you and Thunder God have to have a debate
Being a genius in Naruto is connected more so to intelligence. All the aforementioned geniuses in Naruto. Didn't only have strong jutsu. But they knew intrinsically how to apply them to situations.
For instance take Kakashi and the sharingan. He did something with the sharingan apparently most Uchiha never even thought of. Utilizing it to read the opponents chakra and hand signs to copy their jutsu. Sometimes, even without the proper nature to do so. THAT IS SOME GENIUS SHIT
Neji inferred on his own how to develop the gentle fist into the highest level. Without any training or guidance from the main house. Who specifically keep further utilization of the gentle fist sacred.
THAT IS SOME GENIUS SHIT
Having someone hold your hand to perfect a new jutsu.
