I have... somehow never heard of this type of perspective until now. That is a VERY interesting take; however, I am not sure I can give Isayama that much credit given how "cyclical" the story beats are supposed to be. Sadly, it feels like speculation since that way of thinking comes off way more hopeful than the ending portrays the kid and the tree. ... Might make that my headcanon though....

35:29 I believe this is why Mikasa was the one Ymir was searching for. Akermann’s seem to bond or attach themselves to a single individual with extreme superhuman strength and loyalty. Levi had Erwin, Kenny had the King, and Mikasa had Eren. This is a similar level of relationship Ymir had to the original King Fritz. Mikasa is half Edlian, which means Ymir and the Founding Titan’s abilities can still affect her (Ymir watching inside her head, Eren being able to speak to her, etc.) but she is immune to becoming a Titan from the Ackerman side. She is Ymir, a woman bonded to a man she loves and almost subconsciously inclined to do his bidding. The difference is that Eren is also in love with her. Mikasa choosing to resist Eren’s will, standing against him and his goal but not letting go of her love for him, is what I think set Ymir free. Seeing herself in another life making the decision she wished she had. Before she vanishes, we see a flash of King Fritz dead by spear and Ymir embracing her duaghters. This is the choice she wished she had made but was unable to due to her love and her compulsion to obey the King. She chose to die when she didn’t want to. The equivalent would be Mikasa siding with Eren, or the future where they ran away together. Mikasa chose to be free but didn’t give up m her love for him. This I think is what allowed Ymir to rest.
The ackerbond is proven to be not real.
AOT is hands down the best anime personally. This is truly the end of an era

Wow, I am happy and glad how Tasha noticed the differences at the end with the calm boy and his boy, compared to the misery of Ymir fleeing for her life. The power that awaits might manifest in a different way, completely differently. But Erwin did say, to Pixis, in season 3, that hatred and fighting would only end when only one person on Earth remained alive, to which Pixis laughs.
The thing I got about “the source of all life” is that it gave Ymir the powers of the Titans because her desire was to be loved by Fritz. And Fritz greatest desire was to destroy Marley. So the “source” gave her the powers to achieve that goal. So it could be different for every person who touches the “source”
People hate the end because they think Paradis fell but to be honest, it's been either 2000 or 20000 years(the song) so everyone is long dead and countries change too. People also wanted a happier ending but humans will always struggle to be united unless another intelligent species decides to just take over our world.
We just hope it doesn't come to the world killing itself out of fear, resources, etc.
its more because the ending is hyper-realistic of real life, and we watch these "magical" worlds for a good ending, to get some positivity.
But sadly - Levi became a wheelchair war veteran... Wars keps happening, which led to a nuclear war (according to those credits shots)
And then in the far future after the world was revived, a child with a dog found the tree, where the parasite creating titans was found... making it like the cycle repeats again.
Depressing.
This was an amazing 10 year journey with AoT, the ending was painful but sweet at the same time. It hit like a truck.
I know it's hard to run a YT channel with all these wack people on the internet but THANK you from your community for turning comments on for this particular video
he wanted his friends to live long lives without the burden of the titans/curse and they did. i think that was the ultimate goal since the first episode, rid the world of every last titan. in the end people will be people and there will always be conflict/war. enjoyed the journey, thank you! 🙂

It was a great journey with yall, I have been there since the first channel and the only reaction channel I watched because I wanted more than just cheap screams and exagerrated reactions. I wanted real thoughts and real feelings. Watching your reactions after each episode drop really gave closure with my thoughts the whole way through.
Tre with his hype moments and funny jokes but also predicting key moments and sticking to his beliefs and Tasha with her notes and discussions at the end to piece everything together, it is actually insane how observant and smart Tasha is - just the goat at helping us anime onlies to cohesively understand the plot and clues.
Seriously, your reaction series to AOT was like an OVA series of its own.

Lives of past titan shifter would be 10000 times better than this tbh.
A few fun facts:
1) Eren didn't open his eyes during rumbling, he opened his eyes in his last breath just to see Mikasa
2) Mikasa wrote “Here forever rest peacefully, my most beloved, my dear. 854” on Eren’s grave. The first two times Mikasa visits Eren’s grave she put four roses which means nothing will come between two people who love each other but cannot be together / tragic love. The last time she put one rose which means “you are still THE one".
3)A white flower was placed during her death, which symbolizes purity and virginity. So, taken together, Mikasa's flowers send the message that she won't forget Eren, she still loves him (but believes he can no longer love her back), she will remain devoted to him, and she is waiting.
4)They spent 4 years living together in Paths (ch. 138) And only when he “passed away” there, was she able to kill him in the real world. (it was a gift to them from Ymir)
5)In the ending credits where Eren and Mikasa were buried, an old man Armin still visiting their graves. He was the last to die from the trio, just like when they were kids running to the tree, he was the last one who reaches the tree.

There are reports that isayama wanted Levi to die earlier, but that got changed due to death threats. Can't confirm this, but wouldn't surprise me if true. Apparently that's common with popular Mangas. But I feel ya, glad he survived too.

16:22 it's awesome that you thought of that. That was actually a popular theory back when the manga was running. People thought Eren was using the Warhammer power to control the bones from Paradise and that he'd use Historias baby to restart the rumbling.

Honestly. I only gotten into anime a few/couple years ago myself and I admit, PERSONALLY, Attack on Titan just checks all the boxes fr. From the story writing, animation, fight scenes, theme(world), plot, characters, music and longevity... 10/10. Love this show. I don't usually rewatch shows but AOT is definitely one of very FEW shows I would rewatch. I wish I could personally thank the author for this masterpiece. And lastly, it was because of this show I found this channel and i'll admit besides the reactions I LOVE the discussions and theories you guys would make at the end. I loved watching you guys reactions after every AOT episode. Sad to see it's really over 💔.

46:10 in the end credit scene when they were returning to visit Eren's grave Mikasa was with Jean and they had a baby together. The scene where Eren confessed his feelings for Mikasa to Armin he asked Armin to not tell Mikasa that he felt the same love for her so she could move on and have a chance at life and be married. Armin Kept that secret the whole time, if he hadn't she wouldn't have married be with anyone else.

There's a guy and a dog titan shown in eren's back it's probably them in the future it means the cycle never ends. The whole purpose of eren's plan is to stop incoming war and deaths for thousands of years and make his friends and family to live a peaceful life and stopping the war really works and postponed for thousand of years and now in the future war still a thing and it just a never ending cycle of war and death as we seen that the kid and dog was from the future but they were shown from the past.
The very ending with that 🌳 was interesting tho

Mikasa did infact marry and had a family it looks like atleast three kids cause it goes by really fast and her husband is theorized to be jean ....
The little boy at the end with the dog is one of Mikasa's descendents we know this because of the clothing he's wearing , the bandages on his hand is concealing the shogun clan symbol on his hand .
The Journey is really over then.
