The episodes from The Neistat Brothers also feel the same. Van just has a knack for using video techniques and equipment when others would find them obsolete to create a deep feeling of nostalgia. (or anemoia for that matter.)
I disagree editing on this one definitely felt so much more disjointed but it’s to be expected he is producing a video to produce one. But some of his old videos that retain amazing if not better than his normal yt vids are his bristly brother series ones or some of his Tom Sachs stuff with casey
@@schrute8087 They started their career there. It was also a storage space for their camera gear. Casey explains in one of his vlogs before he leaves for California. I think it's the one when he builds the wall back up and 'gives' the space to another guy.
actually it was Tom Sachs that inspired and mentored both Casey and Van before the HBO special. The brothers just had different ambitions, trajectories and timelines. Van is making up in a big way! Loving his channel!
So true. When I struggle with my own editing, my sister is like, "but Casey put out a video each day, how hard could it be?" I wanted to throw something at her. People have no idea unless they edit these things on the regular. 🎞️
This is amazing. What a life well lived looks like, such a storied life before the internet was an identical part of our lives. This series makes me want to go out, make movies & art, to go on adventures with friends & learn about myself and what kind of person I want to be
there is one thing stopping you... but it's easy to overcome. the way you can take "behind the scenes" content and incorporate that into the focus of a video is outstanding! It's like getting to see the genius in the genius work!
This is the only UA-cam channel I only watch on the big screen. There's a texture I just don't feel with any other creator. Keep doing what you're doing Spirited Man. Even 1 a week or 1 a month.... I'll wait. Don't break the spirit chasing the grind.
Beautiful....its the material compiled on the archive proves he is the OG of vlogging; even it's wave, hit wayback before it is popularized on the so called social media flat form specifically in UA-cam. worth watching.
I have figure out that when everyone talks about the "Casey" still of making a video, it's not the Casey style, its actually the Van style. Casey just took what he learned from you and made millions $$$ doing it. I think Casey owes you a big hug!
He’s a damn G! Love the Neistat Brothers and love him uploading older videos, showing all of us just how long he’s been excellent at what he does. Long live Van and Casey.
I just loove these videos, Van! The pace, the cinematography, the subtile music and the personality of the Spirited Man, the openness and that calm narrators voice. Thank you, this is so refreshing after all other fast-paced and ego driven videos. Keep em coming and don't push it for the algorythm, do it for us, the people - i think you already have your audience. :))
This is just stunning - thank you so much, Van. Brings me back to a feeling I have never experienced somehow, strange to describe. The Neistat Brothers is my all time favorite show, more motivating than any blow. I could talk for hours about this rare and unusual, yet beautiful feeling the show (and some of your videos on this platform and of course on vimeo) gives me. I sincerely hope you are going to release some more stories from the unpublished season 2. Thank you so much for coming to UA-cam, I've waited so long for this to happen.
I can totally sympathizes. I made 1 video a week for 3 years, without such amazing production or story, and it was such a hard /rewarding experiences. Amazing work Van I truly appreciate the dedication to art and spirit and the family. I love your work and am a big fan. I could not keep up my channel as one kid turned into two and time with them become the priority. Keep em' coming and I will be here to subscribe!

I can already see that I am going to really love seeing more and more of your archived footage. So CRAZY to see some of the same people and places that Casey has covered/showed from a different perspective.
Can totally relate to this. I spent the last year and a half recording and editing 6-10 (20-40mins) videos every week for my university courses...production time wheeeewww. At least it was all familiar material. Great vid and thank you!
i knew of a guy that used to put out a video every day... his name was 'Casey-something'.... ;) (this is legitimately a very tough schedule - appreciate that you're striving to set a pace you can maintain and continue with! - loving your videos, love your voice here - thanks for all your hard work to share these!)

A 10 minute video that felt like 37 seconds, over way too quickly. Only a Neistat can do that.

So true…. Van is the greatest
Yea my uncle acts like we aint even family 😔
It’s so cool to see Van from years ago in the old New York studio.
This is like watching what a Jack Kerouac book would look like as a UA-cam channel
That reversed merch clip at the end was so cool.
Genius, i might buy it just because of that😎
I'm so glad you said it's reversed cause I was trying to imagine how to use a leaf blower to lay those out and have them land so perfectly
I didn't expect to see Half-Asleep Chris on here. My 9-year-old daughter watches you nonstop.
rerun tho
Yeah I was wondering about it last time. Leaf Blower? Those things pack some heat.

When you watch Van's videos, you really appreciate Casey's year long vlog. EVERY DAMN DAY new video., new content, inspiring messages.
Absolutely love it. It's Perdue's jokes and Van's qualifiers that do it for me. Among everything else.
