- Cazenovia vs. Skaneateles. January 23, 2024. Caz player accidentally pulls the fire alarm after scoring a layup.
Many thanks to the Cazenovia Fire Department for their professional response.
Ok, so this video is now responsible for 75% of our channel's views. For those who were wondering, the fire department did not deploy, and Number 23 did not get in trouble. There were actually some first responders in the crowd, and the whole thing was resolved over the phone. The game resumed after a 3-minute delay and Skaneateles, sadly, held on for the win. If anyone wants to see the original livestream, it's available here: ua-cam.com/users/liveNEbmrpig7ZM?feature=share
As the description implies, we're convinced the contact was incidental. The officials and administrators treated it as such on the floor, and purposeful disruption wouldn't fit his pattern of behavior. He's a pretty modest, hard-working guy.
After 10 years of trying, I guess we finally figured out what the algorithm prefers. Thanks to everyone who responded. Shout out to our new subscribers. Not sure you know what you're getting into, but our students will do their best to bring you creative, entertaining, thoughtful, goofy, family-friendly videos. Just be warned that we rarely check all five boxes at once.
O great
@@ericbailey6779 hm.
It was clearly intentional.
@@MyFriendlyPup apparently
A high school should know the difference between incidental and accidental. Im pretty sure it was indeed incidental but I doubt it was accidental.
Why isn’t there a cover on the pull stations located in heavy traffic areas of this school. If that was installed he would have just smacked the cover off and not pulled the handle and a bunch of running around on the back end to prevent a thousand some odd $ charge to bring out first responders for nothing.
On the plus side I’d rather have a false alarm than the real deal any day of the week.
I was wondering that too almost every school gym I’ve been in had those
Even Wednesday's?
The ones at my high school had metal cages over them.
Why it costs thousands for first responders to get out 10 miles tops? You can take a van there for free, aside from the original purchase of the vehicle and the gas cost, it’s cuz those typa business’ charge 100x a reasonable cost to do a crappy job.
it probably got knocked off

To be honest, I think he did his best to make it look accidental.
A flagrant-2 foul plus ejection, five-day school suspension, three-game bball suspension, $50 fine, and letter of apology to the fire brigade would teach him respect (and balance)

I think he meant to push off the wall to get some momentum
as much as it looks like he did it on purpose, this is definitely possible
Same here as it looks like he lost his footing while trying to score
I was the one who pulled the alarm and was just trying to push off the wall 😭 everyone thinks I did it on purpose but I was just trying to get back on defense.
@@TannerLawsonbasketball Dw bro I support you in this accident. Hey, accidents happen y'know and you didn't mean to pull the station, as you stated you were pushing off the wall to get back into defense.
He def did it on purpose I think he just did it out of instinct and wasn’t really thinking about it though tbh
It shouldnt be a normal reaction to see a fire alarm and pull it 🤣

as a fire alarm enthusiast, I didn't know there were panels that coded alarms to 20 BPM.
The truealerts I assume are smartsync which is why I think they had the delay
Other than that, there should be a stopper or a wire guard. My high school has wire guards over the pulls in the gyms
The older simplex panels could do 20bpm march time. My old elementary school had a simplex 4020 set to 20bpm march time.
@@Videogamer52100 Cool!
Nah bro you gotta find some hobbies fire alarm enthusiast??? Bro you know there’s like paragliding, it’s actually quite safe, and you can enjoy the scenery for hours at a time. If you only want to do it for a little bit you could rent but long term you can purchase, which can be a few thousand dollars, but after that, prices go down dramatically. Skydiving is only 250-300 bucks for one jump. Biking, skating, parkour all that stuff.
@@Turbopro27 paragliding sounds interesting, but I also like to bike. I have a mountain bike, but I like to ride on a nearby navy base or in my neighborhood. I haven't been able to ride recently, but I want to start back up soon. I also (I think every 2 years) go to a weekend-long biking campout with my Boy Scout Troop. Those are a lot of fun.
@@Turbopro27let people like whatever the hell they want.
I was a flooring contractor for years. Set off a few alarms, usually when dust set off the particle detectors in smoke alarms. You just call 911 and tell them not to panic. They still send a truck just to make sure, but they do it without sirens and lights. Set one off in a customers house once. They had a 5 year who was THRILLED when the fire department showed up. They gave the kid a little plastic fire helmet and everything. As long as it's in good faith, nobody gets in trouble for an accidental fire alarm. Better than NOT pulling an alarm in an emergency because you think you might get in trouble.
He thought he was Jamal Bowman in congress pulling that alarm. 😂
I remember once during gym class we were doing stuff until this girl pulled the fire alarm and luckily it was heard only in the gym
I could possibly understand that if his team was blowing out the other team, but, yo, they were *_BEHIND._*
huh? if you are blowing out the other team you dont want a pause, they will replay the game. If you are down by a lot you get it rescheduled.
@@JT-wu2if- It was a *_celebratory_* act, not an attempt to get a rescheduled game. It's like doing back flips and taunt dances on the football field when you are down 35 points with 4 minutes to go in the 4th. You're drawing a lot attention to yourself (and your team) when the scoreboard does not flatter you. A good grasp of the situation will help cure your "huh?" and not draw more attention to *_yourself_* even as we type.
@@TazTalksYouListennobody would think to pull a fire alarm to celebrate…, it’s as he said, to stop the game
@@letimothykelly - Actually, he was just trying to push off the wall to shift his momentum the other direction back down the court. Pretty obvious.

He probably didn’t want to hit the wall so he pushed the wall but the wall had a fire alarm. But it looks intentional idk
Did he get in trouble? It seemed like an accident but also it looked like it could've been on purpose
That was on purpose. For sure?
I am pretty sure he was trying to get balanced so he wouldn't hit the wall? @@jay_mac89
100 percent on purpose
100% did it intentionally.
it looks like he intentionally tried to grab the wall to stop his stumble but I don't think he knew the fire alarm was there or meant to trip it on purpose. The reach out was definitely intentional though, just didn't know the alarm was in that same spot.
This school isn't far away from my homeland btw.
He's now qualified to be a Congressman.

Im surprised there were no STI Stopper IIs on those pull stations for a gymnasium install like this.
When you're out of timeouts but really need one.
minus the truealert, the 92-19 DOES sound like a scoreboard buzzer :D
A fiery foul
It was a bizarre reflex action that caused the fire alarm to be pulled, unlike when the New York congressman pulled the fire alarm during a House vote.
This was totally by accident, unlike the fire alarm pulled in Congress, which was done on purpose.
why are you bringing politics into this
1. This seems intentional 2. The incident in Congress you referenced is irrelevant to this video

Can honestly say there are probably very few people in the world who know where Skaneateles is, unless you live near there. But because I went to Ithaca College, I know exactly where it's located. I even reffed some games in the lovely hamlet.
And thats why most gyms have protective covers and cages
Hit the fire alarm
Dude pulled a Fire Marshal Jamal.
Bro did it the sneaky way
Put covers of some sort over the pull stations so that they won't be easily pulled like that and also won't be damaged if it got accidentally hit by something like a basketball.
It’s Funny That He Pulled The Fire Alarm On Accident.
This reminds me of the video of the dog falling and accidentally eating the cake.
I can't believe he got 3 years in prison for that
It was 4 years
That was definitely a dare...
He wanted a bucket and cross something off the bucket list
PRANK THEM JOHN.
That was him saying “I call game!”
The fact that a little kindergartener pulled the alarm at my school yesterday though (kittle kid had special needs though teacher was not watching em they were touching the wall and pulled it also my high school was doing a play so thats why kindergarteners were there)
bro was so gassed his intrusive thoughts took control 💀
At the end of the day, any fire alarm activation points manual call point/ pull station should always have a cover over it if it’s an alarm or a normal cover. Anywhere that’s high traffic or where it could be hit accidentally should always have a cover over it to prevent it from activating falsely. In this case it was a genuine accident. You could see he stumbled and used the wall to save himself still not the point. This wouldn’t have happened if the cover was there all that would’ve happened is the alarm cover would’ve went off that would’ve been the only issue you can clearly say there’s no room for an alarm cover here primarily because it’s too bedded into the wall, be a bit different if it was A Call point as the plastic cover could easily be clipped on either side.
Great analysis and yeah a STI cover would not have had enough room to fit this high traffic area. Since this is a Simplex system a (2099-9800) metal cage could be deployed to fit the lower profile 2099 or 4251-20 pullstation.
He and the alarm are kindred spirits: they both got tripped. 🤔
If Jamaal Bowman of Congress Can do it and absolutely nothing happens to him, why can’t a basketball player?
Maybe that bucket officially set him on fire?
I hear some older mechanical horns
"Accidently"
i mean that was accidental by him, he was trying to regain his balance bracing what could've been a nasty fall, and he pulled the alarm. It happens.
Bro was all "Shit we're outta timeouts time to improvise"
“End on a make”
It is very suspicious.
Plot twist: He was charged $17000
Probably wouldn't be any more than $1,000. If that.
None of this would have happened if he went up with his left hand...
That is why I like Basketball 🏀
He is going to be kicked out of the basketball league and be sent to jail forever.😡😡😡😡
Called for help for the other team
Maybe it's time for your school to invest in some fire alarm stopper covers for your pull stations in the gym, then there will be no excuses.
