    Puerto Ricans are very proud people. I haven't watched your video from 7 months ago, but if there was an implication that you thought Puerto Rico is dirty, and their people are dumb, etc., then you will experience their wrath. It is apparent that you did not reveal your background in that first video and people assumed from your appearance that you were a foreigner. The tone of this video is a little condescending so I can't image what that other video's message reflected. I am looking to move to Puerto Rico. I wasn't born there, but my parents were. I am a gringa according to PRns, but I grew up with the culture so I consider myself as such. I am finding that homes where I am looking are tremendously overpriced, considering the power is not reliable and the wages are a pittance. These high prices I believe are caused by people who are not connected to the culture buying up land and reselling at outrageous prices and out pricing actual Puerto Ricans. It is not right so I understand Puerto Rican's frustration right now with "foreigners". There are areas in PR that are overtaken by "Americans", such as Aguadilla, Rincon, Palmas Del Mar, Dorado, etc. Those are not the places I am looking in btw. Puerto Rico is a beautiful place and I can't wait to retire there and enjoy my life and be happy. People, Puerto Rico is a beautiful place to live. Don't let others disparage the island. There is a lot of that on UA-cam.

      Thank you for your comment. We chose not to disclose our backgrounds or what we do to avoid bias content and to simply focus on matters people looking to move to PR consider or anywhere for that. Generations back PR was a pleasant place but over the years due to the corruption and setbacks which are affecting the youth, has led to what it is now, PR youth move overseas and have zero plans to move back. Boricuas who were born in the mainland have plans to retire in PR, the opportunities for the youth today in the island lack support and number, there are serious issues and we know as we don’t talk out of ignorance rather to educate and prepare people. Have a blessed future retirement.

    I am a huge fan of you both. Please keep posting. I am born and raised in the states of Puerto Rican parents for my 2 cents as someone who vacationed as a child growing up to live with my grandparents to someone who moved here after retiring what I think is happening is a yearning for many Puerto Ricans to join the 21st century but being held back by a corrupt govt economic inequality poor educational system and a rise of "karens" looking for conflict and drama without listening to what is going on around and keeping an open mind along with their fear of change. The culture has been kept down in the mud so long that it doesn't realize that there's a better way to live.

      Thank you for your comment! Yes thankfully more voices are speaking up and finding ways to stay in PR rather study in PR and leave to the states. It’s still a process but we have hope and believe the economy and circumstances for the future generations will be better!

    I agree with most of the things you guys said until you said you couldnt find quality food in PR. In order to find anything organic or good quality you have to shop at local farmers market or fish market not a supermarket and thats included in anything in the states.

    • @TheBritoFamily
      @TheBritoFamily  7 місяців тому

      Thank you for your comment! We worked in the agricultural sector and PR and the people in power know the gmo food is mass supplied, quality food is rare. Few regenerative farmers are there and they do not supply enough for the mass. Farmers markets also do not provide 100% quality. Many local farmers use gmo, Monsanto and or the foods are gmo from other countries from afar. To get quality seafood you just hire a fisherman which the majority of boricuas cannot and will not spend money on because it is pricey.

    I grew up in P.R., and agree 100% with what you say. P.R. has many wonderful things, but if you want good quality of life, P.R. does not offer that.

      Many people come for the weather and run out within 2 years. Do not come if you are reliant on medical care. Don't expect Amazon to deliver to the island as well as many mainland companies. This is not a place for caucasians

    It's a long video, but good video. For the negative comments, they have a fixed mindset. As I age and continue to experience the world, it helps me to develop a growth mindset. Often time, their political view could have an influence on their thoughts or they could see Puerto Rico through our own lenses. Anyhow, after I found out the Puerto Rico Act 60, I'm interested to learn about PR and maybe move there in a few years. I'm sure there will be some hates for this. That is ok. They do their things and I do my things like going back to learn Spanish where I left in high school.

      Thank you for your comment! You will meet both sides of boricuas who know the issues and are able to discuss the matters in a civilized manner as they agree with it, and there’s the other spectrum of denying the issues due to cultural pride and or ignorance of their community and neighbors struggles. The benefits as an expat to move there can be beneficial, definitely see a professional who does official business in US and PR to ensure proper preparation and expectations.

    Lamento tener que comentar que, y no quiero que se ofendan, porque entiendo lo que estan tratando de hacer con estos videos. Pero bueno, y es que no pueden pretender, que cuando se muda una familia, de PR, para E.E. U.U., que al llegar encuentren el ambiente local, digamos, no tan favorable para familias, por el crimen, o por lo que fuece. No puenden pretender, que simplemente van a recojerse y mudar para otro lugar, asi como asi, como si fuera tan fascil. No olviden, la mayoria de las personas quienes se mudan para E.E. U.U., tienden a mudarse para los lugares donde se encuentran parientes suyos, y si estos lugares son de mala fama, pues nada, they'll either make it work, or they'll return to Borinquen, but people just don't pick-up and move anywhere just because they've heard about someplace that is better, it's not as easy as that, whereas it is sometimes easier to relocate to a place where a support network already exists. Pero nada, entonces entiendo que cuando comentaron cuanto lamentan que el individuo quien comento, diciendo que Borinquen es lo mas bueno que Dios le habia dado, que mas bien estaban queriendo decir, que esperan que esa person pueda tener mas u otras cosas que agradecerle a Dios. Entiendo que el sentimiento fue genuino, pero perdonenme si les digo que comentar que es loco, que hay quienes se basan toda su existencia, y todo lo que son, su personalidad su caracter, en la cultura y el lugar donde se criaron, y despues sujerir que eso esta messed-up, o que es triste. Lo siento mucho, pero no. It's not messed-up and it's not sad. On the contrary, it's quite normal for people all over the world to know and identify with what has largely been their cultural experiences, based solely on the environment in which they grew-up. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting it's wrong for someone to want to broaden their horizens, or that they shouldn't try to experience, culturally, more of what the world has to offer. I'm simply suggesting, that not having those experiences or the means to finance them does not make someone less a person or less valuable a life, because of how they identify as a person. Just as people that have been fortunate enough to have experienced more of what the world has to offer, are not any more valuable a person, than someone that has not. Kris, tu eres Boricua, y mas bien sabes que muchos de nosotros valoramos mas al humilde campesino, que a el impresario quien se cree la ospera mas grande, simplemente porque tiene titulos o credenciales. Since you say you are believers, please know, I Am One also, and please allow me to encourage you to respond to your critics with love and humility, as I Am certain you know Our Lord would. Keep the videos coming, speak the truth, expecting some here to take what you say personally, but not allowing any of their commentary to rob you of your piece. Remember, it is to be expected. Paz

    One thing that is atractive in moving to Puerto Rico is that if you owe your own house, property you live rent free. Then again, there are many things to take into consideration if you want exact benefits, quality of life etc...when living in Puerto Rico. If you are willing to adapt, accept, take it as it is then you will be fine living in puerto Rico.
