I found them through YT in 2020. I was discovering other J-Rock/Metal bands at that time, too, so listening to Lovebites was a natural thing 😉 But what finally won me over was actually THIS video. The reactor I watched started crying over Miyakos incredibly emotional solo and I was also close to tears. Then I bought all their albums and the rest is history 😊
Good reaction. My first lovebites song was this video of epilogue about 3 years ago. Was in love immediately. My favorite band now. Got their concerts on blu-ray and several albums on cd and t-shirts. Waiting for the blu-ray of „knocin‘ at heavens gate part II“. Thanks for this reaction.
This is a Miyako showcase! She starts on acoustic guitar (with Midori), switches to piano, then to electric and then piano and electric through the song. And that harmony solo with Midori at the end... Amazing!
My favourite individual performance by the band. Asami sings every song as if it was her last. Nowhere is that more apparent than here. She leaves some of her soul with everyone lucky enough to be in that audience. This wasn’t my first LOVEBITES song (in fact I can’t remember which song was, though I’m guessing it was Holy War), but this, Empty Daydream, Edge of the World, in quick succession (that very same afternoon) sealed them as my favourite artists and began a quest to support them wherever they went. Best band in music history.
Learned about Lovebites through UA-cam (Elizabeth Zharoff) only since this past summer. This is my favorite band for new music and the first new music I have purchased in the last 20 years.
For me I discovered Lovebites through UA-cam. It was around late February or early March in 2021. I was on UA-cam looking at Iron Maiden reactions and every now and then I would click on a thumbnail on the side when I saw a new band who I had never heard before. This went on for a few weeks. Eventually a thumbnail suggestion for Lovebites came up for the music video When Destinies Align. I clicked on it. Within the first 30 seconds I was blown away. Every new band I had looked at prior to this was flawed in one way or another, or just not my cup of tea. But this, oh my goodness, it blew my mind. Never had I seen gorgeous young ladies playing heavy metal before. But it wasn't just their looks that hooked me. Their talent, especially on the guitars, was unlike anything I had ever seen before. The long twin guitar solos in WDA were phenomenal and made me an instant fan. I immediately watched the video for Holy War live and was blown away again. I proceeded to search for more and more videos for them, and got hooked on watching UA-cam reactions to Lovebites. Within 3 days I had purchased ALL of their music because Lovebites was the best band I had heard in almost 30 years. It has been non-stop video watching for me ever since. I watch every single Lovebites reaction video and buy every album the moment they are released. I now try to promote them in any way I can because I feel they deserve to be much much bigger and popular than they already are.
Cool. The reaction videos thing is such an interesting phenomenon. I never would have predicted it before the internet or even after the internet was a thing. Its a great way to celebrate music
If you like prog rock you should listen to Lovebites Edge of the world, it changes gears 4 times, Lovebites 🤟🎸are the best metal band out there at the moment
Love this one....Asami really sings he heart out and Miyako's switching back and forth between instruments is pretty amazing....but they are for sure the sum of all their quality parts!! First learned of Lovebites thru a music review channel called Pictures Noise and Words and I believe the first song I heard was Shadowmaker. That was at least 2 years ago....solid fan ever since!!🤘
Lovebites will co-headline day 3 of ProgPower USA XXIII on 6 September 2024 (next year) at Atlanta Georgia,. Tickets are already sold out but watch out for a possible USA tour after that festival.
Reminds me of the late Gary Moore, Carlos Santana and BB King combined with an Eagles Hotel California duet at the end. I first saw them in Cardiff, Wales, UK in November 2019 when they were supporting the UK band Dragonforce. This was one of the songs they played off their second album that had been released the year before. I've been following them ever since.
Part of what I love about Lovebites (and most of the Japanese bands) is that they don't care about our genre definitions--they just do what feels right to them. They do have some songs with strong "proggy" elements. Whatever they do, they always seem to get it perfect. And you are right about our music industry (and at this point, it is an industry) having its priorities wrong. But they just go for the easy money, and so they sell the musical equivalent of Twinkies. Its junk food and people are addicted to it.
i found Lovebites as a random UA-cam suggestion in my feed while i was taking a practice break it was the song Holy War live , after it was finished i looked at all my guitars and thought ffs i really suck lol Miyako and Midori have since become two of my favorite guitar hero's
This song is a masterpiece. Those guitars sing and cry, and it also showcases Asami’s vocals. I think my first Lovebites video I watched was MV of Shadowmaker. I just couldn’t believe my eyes these beautiful women playing at such high level. It just blew my mind.

My introduction to LOVEBITES was a reaction video of "Winds Of Transylvania" on June 13th, 2023, when I got the notification from a reactor channel, where I usually watched Pink Floyd or Kate Bush. I thought, "why not", and after that, I checked out the video before that, "Holy War", and thought, "they can shred badass". In the weeks after that, I've checked out their whole catalogue, and I was never disappointed!
@@deanwolfechannel I've been a staunch fan for decades (although I sometimes lost connection, e.g. between 1983 and 1985, and later after 1993, when I thought, her career was over. After revisiting her whole catalogue in the late 90s, there were new spikes in 2005, 2011, 2014 and 2022, that kept my constant deep interest, leading to her induction to the RR Hall Of Fame last month). I was surprised to jump from Kate's and Pink Floyd's music to LOVEBITES, which is different, but I enjoy that craftsmanship and songwriting, entering fantastic musical spheres given by the author, that's probably what you can call "progessive"... this is the common denominator, and I've seen, that I'm not the only one, for example, when I see other reactors react to LOVEBITES, that I already know from Kate Bush deep dives, from Pink Floyd or Queen or whatsoever...
My introduction to Lovebites was in late 2017 with the "Shadowmaker" video, I was completely floored. Then a few weeks later, I got to meet Miyako at NAMM, it was a very awesome experience.
my introduction to LOVEBITES was before they had formed. bassist miho and drummer haruna were in the legendary early all female metal band DESTROSE that i discovered in the summer of 2016. that band had ceased activities by then and a couple months later i heard that miho and haruna were starting a new band with the intention to be the best girl's metal band ever. mission accomplished !

Its during the lockdown i saw them on YT and i got an instant crush on miyako 😂 but during 2019 i was starting to listen to alot of japanese musicians already like ningen isu and babymetal but it all started with murata tamu now the drummer of nemophila.
You can imagine the hours of practice required to play synchronised guitar at this level. I have read that Miyako has a home studio so her and Midori, practice and practice together so they can play the duet perfectly. Then they try and see if they can add more complex patters. Amazing they can play just eight bard in sync' at this level. Lovebites along with a few other Japanese lady bands all came about from BabyMetal! Back in 2014, I discovered BabyMetal. This led on to Band Maid. In those days, I pioneered both bands on my Facebook page to family and friends. Sadly, none were interested. Both BabyMetal and Band Maid became more and more popular, particularly BabyMetal. This continued my interest in Japanese female bands, which eventually led to Lovebites.
I have never heard Haruna play that slow, lol. Doggo, Earthside just dropped their 2nd album and you MUST check out "The Lesser Evil" feat. Larry Braggs and Sam Gendel. Absolutely mindblowing.

LOVEBITES - Epilogue lyrics:
If you have never cried, your eyes can’t be so beautiful
If you have never been hurt, you can’t feel the pain of others
I will believe myself
We’ll never be alone
You will believe yourself
We are the only ones
If you have never failed, you cannot be happy for success
If you have never loved, you cannot feel the love from others
I will believe myself
We’ll never be alone
You will believe yourself
We are the only ones, forever…
