- Sannas are Goan steamed rice cakes that is usually relished with a popular dish in Goa known as sorpatel .Sannas can be eaten plain by making them sweeter using sugar or stuffing them with a jaggery and coconut mixture at the time of steaming. Sannas are traditionally done using coconut toddy which acts as a fermenting agent.

Thanks aunty for sharing the recipe I have forgotten the exact measurement as my mother used to do before now that she is no more I do when I go for holidays and toddy we get in Panjim market every day before 10AM outside where they sell vegetable and every Friday at mapusa market if any one from that they can buy once again thanks and keep sharing our goan recipe and please share chana masala which they make for buffet at wedding

Well what do you know. I finally found someone who can make sannas. I will try this, although I don't know what to use for toddy. We in North America have not seen that as yet. Maybe I'll use yeast. Thank You. Your children are totally blessed to have you to cook anything for them.
You can even use sprite but check the sugar quantity bcus sprite is sweet so adjust...

When we make sasna you can give a twist n turn you can grease the cups with coconut oil but very light n use botton banana or leaf or add filling like aunty did jaggery coconuts. Etc

Use sprite n just do not add sugar as there is sugar in sprite or yeast or Thailand coconut water 😊
