There's a Holiday Inn Express in Mackinaw City, Mich., where we would stay at every Labor Day Nite after thousands of people started driving home every year.
They had 1 Hydro Thunder cab & 1 pool table in the "Game Room" for a Decade at least. My kid brother and I play that thing religiously
Every single Red Robin location in America has a Hydro Thunder because the owner loves that game. Seriously go to any Red Robin and there will be Hydro Thunder
This edition was released after the Dreamcast release.

thanks so much for helping put the word out there. knowing what i know about how preservation has gone over the years, if there's even a small chance, it'll most likely show up eventually. we've beaten the odds before even as small of a community as we are, we can certainly do it again!
It's my pleasure to help on this one. I just hope someone will find the person who owns It or we get some info about he version from one of the devs at least.

Special Edition gets my hopes up that somehow the improvements that were done to the Dreamcast version (and I'm not just talking the extra tracks) are in this new edition. Things like firming up the FPS to keep it at a solid rate and tweaks to improve some graphic areas.
I loves me some arcade Hydro Thunder, especially 4 player action, but Dreamcast really showed how getting more time with a game can really bring out its potential! Hope you find out what the Special Edition is!

I still have my Dreamcast version, I should try it again just to see how different it actually is. The special edition might only be an extra track or it could be more which would be really interesting.
The sale in question is from 2019. Hopefully we can track one down!

Hey KAG I have a really random question. By any chance do you know the dimensions for the platform that the seat for Hydro Thunder sits on? I'm doing a mod and am trying to replicate that platform. I have the seat itself already and just need to build the platform itself now. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You don’t see the vinyl cover much. I’ve got one on mine but it definitely needs a section of replacement patch down the center area. It’s a very dark mocha brown.

I don't know if I ever tried the 64 version, I have the Dreamcast version but haven't played it in many years now.
64 version is a huge let down, seriously! get it as a collector, but not as a gamer to play hydro thunder.
@@jeremylester6537 N64 definitely struggles a bit, but it's probably my favorite home version (but I agree it's probably not the best version)
it feels very slow and very sluggish and the graphics are lacking compared to the arcade and dreamcast version in my opinion, hop onto the dreamcast version and it is soo much smoother. but nothing beats the real deal@@jbfcrasher
@@jeremylester6537 oh I'm well aware of all the differences, I have a copy of every version (including 3 full size arcade machines) and I definitely won't argue against the performance and graphics issues. Just have a soft spot for the N64 version.
I will say also, I hope that one day this game is playable via MAME. The closest I can get currently is the Dreamcast version and I doubt I'll ever own the cabinet, mainly due to space limitations.
Being playable on MAME is impossible...
But on Teknoparrot maybe...but it theres next to zero progress except an attempt on PCEmu
@@Spin_Music oh interesting? I had no idea it couldn't be emulated with MAME. I'm curious as to why? I have never played around witch Techno Parrot but have seen vids of it playing some good stuff.
@@MasaCheez The biggest limiting factor afaik is the Diego board in the arcade machine needing to be reverse engineered

That's the primary reason for the video, there were supposedly only 5 of these machines made and there is extremely little information out there
