Hi Keith! First of all thank you for your great work! I watched you for some times and now I'd like to start with bass again, after I haven't played for more than 20 years. You re-kindled the fire in me so to speak. I took piano lessons in my 30's but as a bass-player I was self taught. I am 54 now and I hope that something remained in my brain from back then. Sir, can you please give me a hint as to which of your videos I should start with? I have to add that I am on vacation until the beginning of may. When I get home I have to buy a bass guitar and an amp. When you would be so kind to give me a tip on what equipment to buy. It hasn’t got to be the most expensive stuff. My fav musical genres are Rock, Funk, Jazz and Pop/Rock. My fav bassist is John Deacon. Greetings from Austria (cerrently in Panama)
Hi, I'm so flattered that you like my teaching. I'll gladly point you towards those of my video lessons I think will best suit you, but this probably isn't the best platform (it will be a very lengthy message!). If you've picked up any of my PDF's, you can message me directly via that platform. Hope that's ok.
Thanks👍You can use the same principle with minor chords, but as always it would depend on the chord sequence you are playing over. That's the subject of a future lesson.
@rghmrtic The chord being improvised over is the Cmaj7. The reality is you can use whatever you want, to. achieve the sound that you want to, but the D pentatonic allows you to target all of the extensions and also the F# (#11), which gives a bit of tension.
Amazing Lesson!
@@Crazy-Society Thanks. I’m chuffed that you enjoyed it👍
Thanks, again :)
That’s a great lesson with excellent ideas to build on improvising skills. This can be applied to any instrument. Thanks for the great lesson👍👍
@@creativejamtracks677 Great feedback, thanks 🙏. I’m pleased you enjoyed the lesson.

Great lesson!
And how to apply this method for minor sequences ? Thanks. Sorry my English)

For example 2--5-1 in minor)

👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏 WELL DONE, THANKS A LOT, BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO. GOD BLESS YOU
Thank you!
Great lesson. But I’m questioning my theory as a beginner. This 2-5-1 ,Wouldn’t a ii (2nd) is a minor chord? Thank you
@@khmersut Yes, that’s exactly right 👍 Dm7 - G7 -Cmaj7
@@academyofbassAnd why a D Major pentatonic instead of minor pentatonic?
