whaaaaat. Bolan is one of the most influential artists ever. Educate yourself with electric warrior and slider albums. Amazing. The Beatles and the stones were before T.rex but when Bolan erupted in the UK they were very influenced by him.
Huge here in the U.K. known as one of the first glam rock bands ( I think they started glam ? ) - I think they had 4 number 1 hits in a row - bang a gong was only ever known as GET IT ON in U.K. the 1st record I bought was - RIDE A WHITE SWAN and then the album ELECTRIC WARRIOR- worth checking out - other glam rock bands worth checking = slade , the sweet , Roxy music , wizard,, Lots of U.K. 70s iconic bands never made it into the USA- other bands worth a look = mud, showaddywaddy, the rubets - bay city rollers, worth looking at all U.K. chart hits of the 70s - very different from the USA.
You should try Jeepster. Marc mentioned cars a lot in his songs and he was fearful of dying in a car and he did just that in 1977 just before he turned 30
The UK Glam Rock scene of the early 70s included mega-acts like David Bowie, Elton John & Queen, as well as well as acts who never really broke out of that genre, like Slade, Sweet and Gary Glitter (though the latter is getting airbrushed out of history due to some very questionable choices). Glam Rock was looking rather tired by the mid 70s. The best acts evolved away from it, while the rest were blown out of the water with the arrival of punk rock in 76/77.
Love Bowie, Elton and Queen; never heard of Slade, maybe heard of Sweet, and I'm familiar with at lest the main hit from Gary Glitter and also the allegations. I will definitely check those out and do dive into Glam rock and the 70s music scene at some point cause I'm pretty unfamiliar with anything other than the main popular acts. thanks for the info! Hope to see you around :)
The greatest opening riff ever ?
T.Rex were massive in the Early 70s, Marc Bolan started Glam rock check out the Movie Born to Boogie filmed by Ringo Star.

Loved this in when I was 7 in 1973 and still love it today. Still sounds fresh as ever.

Marc Bolan is always about the groove. This is considered glam rock.

Brilliant song!!!!!!!
It was used in a commercial, for Levis with a very young Brad Pitt, it's here on UA-cam.
Many guitarists say that this lead guitar sounds like a chainsaw.
"Telegram Sam" is also their Top Hit, and sounds interesting.
One of the founders of Glam Rock.

@@MellowMusicMedia Slade were massive surprised you have not heard of them but T.Rex were the best of all.
You need to react to more T rex ❤🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Great sound....
Shout out to the backing singers Barry St John Vicki Brown and Sue & Sunny, they rarely get any credit ❤
Interesting. 2 years before T Rex released this song, The Kinks released a song called '20th Century Man'.
Love the Kinks
I'm wondering why a nobody is commenting on a rock n roll God.
Or why I'm watching

Too much talking not enough listening
