It looks like 3mm cotton cord, single ply. A popular brand that can think of is Bobbiny Cords here in the US.

It's 3ply rope 3mm thick and from recycled cotton 😊

Diane, you could just cut the sound off. There is that option! I too sometimes have trouble counting stitches with music.
