Back in 1971, there was a TV commercial about a family of bears that woke up on Christmas morning, and found new ski doo s and rode them .the end of the commercial says Go 1 Better, Go SKI DOO for 1971,
yup remember it well 1st machine i rode was a 1971 nordik 399 then switched over to my friends brothers 1972 tnt 440 he had 2 of them then the big gun 1974 400 FA all in one day back in 1982 i rode on the back of the FA 400 during a state shutdown during the great blizzard of 1978 in mass thats when i got hooked
didn't have to worry about your visor fogging up..love watching these old clips, makes me think of what I was probably doing when this was being filmed, I was playing road hockey with my buds, playing on a lightly snow covered road, or was I skiing tobogganing ?
the skunk hood tnts looked very cool! also funny how most of the clips they are going down hill or on flat ground because how much they sucked in powder lol. they did better then the sleds of the day with cleats for sure.
I just felt my hurting alot watching this. My vmax is way more comfy she is an old sled and has never failed me yet. The newer sleds are like dirtbikes now I want one.
Had an Arctic Cat 340 Lynx II Heavy brute...aleays wanted an El Tigre or newer TNT. Around 1977 i was a RUPP Nitro fan..too bad they wentvout of biz in '78
not even wearing helmets I had a few skidoos a 399 Olympic 300 and 335 Olympic and a 74 294 elan ss the elan was one of the best sleds I ever had would go anywere my 303 wankel arctic cat panther is also a great sled and will go anywere

Wow! look at the impressive 2 inches of suspension travel?!!! My spine collapsed just watching them! LOL Love these old commercials.
We still had plenty of fun.
Owned and still own a 72 Ski-Doo Olympique. Notice how the sleds are all going downhill in the powder. Never would make it up hill with that velocity.
i remember this when i was a kid watching the hockey game and i wanted a new elan so badly
I'm fixing up a 1969 Ski Doo and I am so excited to ride this Winter.
Man these old commercials are cool.

They doo look like a skidoo Fred Flintstone would ride.
Nobody wearing helmets. ..ahh the 70's. ... I remember some old sleds came with cigarette lighters, lol.
they still do.. arctic cat comes with them standard... Plug your heated helmet into it.
The Nordic had one
Does any one think they would get up the hill they came down on ?
bogiewheelman71 too funny! All the videos are downhill or sidehill😂
Wonder how they got the machines up in the first place!
My father got a new elan for $500 in the 70's.
Then a 440 tnt later for like 1100 tax in..lol.
The TV add for 1971 was much better, with the bear family, and the slogan was , Go 1 better go. Skidmore,

If I had a dime for every gallon of gas I put through my little '72 Elan i'd be "retired/rich"...LOL.
I have a 72 elan
The ladies didn't need helmets back then, they had huge hair.
The good days ...before everyone became Gov freeloaders
Man!! All that yellow, yikes.
get some helmets lol
Dire Wolfy Welcome to '72
Yep
All these were complete junk, we bought a new 72 Olympic and you rode it for 5 minutes and fixed it for 3 hrs.
