Is there anything now where the old convent stood? Is there anything that honors the convent school? I just started reading fire and roses, about the convent fire, and would love to visit the location!
This is an interesting story, especially in context of the early Protestants that settled New England. Protestants had been making their impact in the region for 200 years. Then their Old Enemy, the Catholics, flood in there too. I can easily imagine their anxiety and fear. Obviously, the burning of the convent was totally unjustified, but what an interesting story of conflicting cultures.
Very interesting history. I just finished reading Fire and Roses and Awful Disclosures.
Well done....Thank you!

Anti-Catholicism is just as socially acceptable today.
There might be more to what actually happened to the young nun at the Ursuline Convent. Just my opinion.
