We often missed good games because critics didn't know what they were looking at or how to play it.Thankfully, I never listened to those people and enjoy the game the way its developers intended.N64 offered faithful Midway games arcade experience and this one was no exception.

I still play the series occasionally on my OG Xbox Midway Arcade Treasures disc, and I still really think it is very relevant.

I rented the game once for the N64 and thought it was enjoyable, but when I finally purchased the game 10 years ago and played through the circuit mode with a racing wheel, I found it to be even better than I had expected. The circuit mode does get pretty tough but it's far from impossible. I think it's a decent port overall. The biggest difference is that the arcade game seems to run at 60 fps whereas the N64 version might run at 30 fps, though probably slightly lower. I can't fault it for that because the only racing game on the system that seems to run at 60 fps is F-Zero X.
I would LOVE for an indie developer to make us a Baja trophy truck game reminiscent of Off Road Challenge. There are so many making amazing arcade racers and rally racing but no Baja trophy truck racing. Maybe one day.

I enjoyed this game, liked it a little more than cruisin usa. Felt more diverse in a weird way, as every track is the same off road theme. But this one was a ton of fun imo

I never played this either in Arcades or this version but always wanted to, but I did played a lot of other Midway games and N64 racers at the time, and really some of em that were lambasted by magazines and websites at the time are actually fun and more decent than expected with only a few being truly horrendous And gotta mention, LOVED the use of Outride a Crisis rock version in part of the video!!
Ive recently picked it up and exept for Cali speed i have all the Midway racers its a great addition on N64 and works great with the ASCII steering wheel too
