Hey just came across this video. Fantastic! You mentioned that you’d share a playlist of different versions of the fox chase. I’d really appreciate the link.
Can ya cover the basics on pucker single notes , I've seen the different techniques but I can't seem to master any of them , I can play single notes but not a perfect each time . help plz
Is this a cross harp lesson? In other words, for this particular lesson, if I'm playing this fox chase on a G-tuned harp, would my guitar need to be playing in the key of D?
Hi, Ed. When you play that little 3 hole bend in the riff (when you play it fast) are you still tongue blocking or do you purse the bend? I am struggling to TB it - it makes sense and gives economy of movement - but it’s a tricky one. Cheers!
I'm TBing pretty much everything but it does take some practice with the bending for sure. Try doing a few slow bend exercises with TB daily for a couple of minutes. Choose your favourite harp and be patient- it will slowly improve!
@@TheHarmonicaBarge Thanks👍 Edit: It worked! What a difference playing with TB, it feels natural now and has helped a lot with my blues playing too, the sound is so satisfying 😎. Cheers, Ed.
Just purchased the in depth lesson and I am disappointed with the lack of tab demonstrating the variations/fill ins etc. You certainly haven't gone the extra mile.
Hello there, Thanks ever so much for your comment. The In Depth Lesson features Tab for each lick? Please email me at info@theharmonicabarge.com so I can help you. It's much better to contact me directly and we can always make progress :) all the best, Ed

This is a great groove, tb with 3 blow is a perfect option..
Absolutely love this! Keep up the great content!
The lower keys seem to be overlooked, I think, and I agree they are a richer and bendable,
loving the loud hailer.

LOVE it .....
Thanks for this! Have to ask where you got that shirt too?
You’re welcome! It was a gift from a friend- not sure where he got it from!
What brand harmonica do you use
Hohner (probably)
Hi Ed is the tongue blocking using the 3 blow better for air equilibrium? Best Wishes Tony
yes exactly but you could substitute for 2 draw for a slightly different feel too :)
How do you get rid of excess breath stuck inside lungs whilst doing fox chase?
I am a beginner but I think the -123 sucks can be just in the mouth and not via the lungs. Also with the 2 draw you can get extra air out via nose.
yes you have to really use those outbreaths to sneak some air out! also the longer you do it the easier it gets , but don't pass out :)
Can this be puckered as well?
yep, just use a 2 draw instead of the 3 blow- it creates a different vibe
I haven't played in a while (not like I was good anyways)
How do you avoid running out of breath on this groove?
Good question, technically we breathe in more than out on a fox chase so often we can fill up more.
Are you sure you’re not filling up ? 😊
Check out this. Stone fox ChaseGordon Smith & Alan Glen - Stone Fox Chase UA-cam
Mark Thompson thanks, yes I know the Stone Fox Chase- that’s a very different piece
