    I’m just glad to see someone actually showing what they do at work, not a video full of unnecessary stuff like makeup or what your eating for breakfast and this and that.

      I know it’s intimidating, but I say do it. The pay is decent. And the job stability is 💯. If you can just go straight for RN since you already have a degree and will be opted out of many pre reqs. You might have to re do your science courses, but the rn process will be basically equal to the time of being an Lpn since you have a previous degree. You can definitely do it!!

    I have a few questions when you have time. Is it odd to see male LPNs? I'm almost 40 and need to get out of unappreciated, sweaty factories and into something where I'm helping. And is midnight shift easier to get hired onto? I've always been a 2nd 3rd shift person so the hours don't bother me. Thanks and I look forward to learning more before I go back to school for the spring semester.

    • @rachela23
      @rachela23  2 роки тому +11

      It’s isn’t odd at all. There are many male nurses (Lpn & RNs) so don’t let your gender deter you from entering this field.
      Midnight shifts for me are personally the best. I don’t do it often because I don’t want to mess up my sleeping pattern, but midnights are much calmer because patients are sleeping. Good luck on your journey

    • @MelisJoy
      @MelisJoy 2 роки тому +6

      Go for it! As she said, don't let your gender deter you. I was in school for RN, left....now years later considering it again or LPN. There were at least 5 guys in every one of my classes & many more in hospitals when I did clinicals. It's NOT easy, please be sure you truly are ready to learn in depth A&P and medications as people's life will be in your hands. Maybe even shadow at your local hospital & clinic. Best of luck to you

    To me it looks like the rules of staffing ratios in California are for hospitals. I’m an LVN student in California, and in the nursing homes I’ve gone to for clinical, they’re pretty understaffed, I’ve seen LVNs having to pass meds for 30-40 residents each
