Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I have wanted to do a SBS since moving to the mountains. I did a few many years ago. The stencil material a rubber material. great video. thanks again.
www.idsblast.com/sandblasting-supplies/category/1132 - Call these folks and tell them what cfm your are running at. We use a conical shaped tip and the rest of the information depends on your blaster. Hope that helps and happy sign making.
NO! Water in this process will cause nothing but trouble, in my opinion. Stay dry, media flys off the work surface and doesn't obscure your blast surface.
There's a ton of reasons why you sandblast as opposed to route. Lot's of texture differences between the two methods. I'm happy to discuss more one on one with you if you'd like a more in depth response.
Wow, that sign looks fantastic. Now I only wish I had sandblasting equipment to try this at home!

That is great thank you, do you have any videos up on how you paint the lettering and backgrounds?
That sign is gorgeous! Nice work.
Thanks!
Can you use the hartco vinyl on a silhouette or a cricket cutting machine?
At the end the eagle and mountains appeared to be 3 dimensional. Was that extra carving or down with paint?
Beautiful, quality crafstmanship.
Thank You!!!!
Do you use a respirator because of health concerns with using silica sand?
Yes. We've always used a full helmet with filtered fresh cooled air. You'll see the red helmet in the video's.
I have a question about the nozzle used during the sandblasting, I was curious what brand or kind it was and what tips are used?

Can you blast pine and what sorta film do you use
You can blast anything but pine is not preferred. Use Hartco Sandblast stencil S930
Can I do this with dustless blasting? How will the vinyl stencil hold up to a wet blast?
NO! Water in this process will cause nothing but trouble, in my opinion. Stay dry, media flys off the work surface and doesn't obscure your blast surface.
What material is used for the stencil
Hartco S90 Stencil.
Would you not just CNC ??
