This really reminds me of Lotti's cruxifixus with all those gorgeous dissonance and resolution.
Lotti's crucifixus and a bit of Pergolesi stabat mater dolorosa. that's how choral music must be written
Reminds me of John Wilbye's Draw on Sweet Night
Me too haha
Thanks Andrea for posting this marvellous piece...
Wunderschön
Son Maestros!!!!!!
the music is for 8 voices, but it is not performed by the a capella group Voces8
Sure: sung by Voces8. You can find all information in the InfoBox of this video.
Doch, ganz sicher! Du kannst alle Informationen über diese Audioaufnahme im Infobox dieses Video. Außerdem glaube ich, dass hier in UA-cam auch ein Video dieses Liedes der Gruppe "Voces8" gibt.
This is a lovely choir, but if it really is Voces8, they sure have improved over the years
... and a lot!
means 8 voices in this case
@@ellenxsw thanks for the clarification!
I really want to sing this song...
Ship shape and Bristol fashion.
it acts as a masage
Is this really Voces8?
No, it's not. Here's the actual recording, in case you haven't seen it: ua-cam.com/video/VM2xHJG2uJk/v-deo.html
@@michaelsullivan499 It is Voces8 but a very early iteration I think - the CD is from 2008. If you compare some of the voices in this with the voices of other recordings at that time theres a lot of similarities. I think its just not Voces8 as we currently know them but Voces8 nonetheless!
Somehow that comment got added to the wrong recording: please go to ua-cam.com/video/VM2xHJG2uJk/v-deo.html
So much better! The bass 2 and sopranos didn’t make overpower everyone else
This is not Voces8
Stil von 1840? Große Mut zu schreiben! Hoch Achtung.
...too much auto tune for me...
I don't hear auto-tune here. If it was auto-tuned it would be perfect I'd have thought. It's good, but not perfect. Here's a newer version ua-cam.com/video/VM2xHJG2uJk/v-deo.html
There isn't autotune, though. It's also not the group Voces8, who sing it far better: ua-cam.com/video/VM2xHJG2uJk/v-deo.html
If there was auto tune soprano 1 wouldn’t sound so screeching until they sing the really high notes and the bass 2 wouldn’t sound so forced on the low notes
