Alina didn't follow through Baghra's plan bc she has no reason to trust Baghra either! As far as she's aware, the man who's supposedly manipulating her must've learn that from SOMEONE, and if he really is as evil as she says than *why* hasn't she tried to stop him before? Alina is suddenly extremely suspicious of everyone she knows, so she resorts to trusting only herself. Another amazing reaction! Thank you
This. Honestly, getting the heck out of there and just go somewhere to process everything is a great plan. I love it when main characters actually make smart decisions based on the info that they have.
Yeah, Kirigan and his mother bagra are immortal. In the grishaverse the grisha are long lived, that depends on how powerful they our, the powerful the grisha is the longer they live. But Kirigan and bagra are the most powerful grishas in the world, so powerful they our immortal.
Grisha get healthier as they use their power, so the more the use it the better they live, Kirigan’s power is unique of his bloodline and incredibly rare so he managed to live over 100 years without aging 😌
No spoilers, merely some clarification: 1. The volcra are indiscriminate, they'll kill Kirigan as easily as anyone else. With an amplifier, Alina can hold them off, while he wields the Fold. 2. All Grisha grow extremely sick if they suppress their abilities, and they grow in strength and vitality when they use them. By this standard, supremely powerful Grisha like Baghra, Kirigan, and Alina can live centuries by virtue of their inborn strength alone. 3. All Grisha work for Kirigan by default, because they are soldiers and he is their General. Nina is just another Grisha on an unremarkable assignment, who got caught up.
To clear up some things that are better explained in the books: Baghra is the daughter of Ilya Morozova, the Bonesmith, who created three extremely powerful amplifiers, one of which is the Stag. His experiments gave Baghra her Shadow Summoner powers, which she passed down to her son. Using their power makes the Grisha stronger, so the more powerful the Grisha, the longer they live. Both Kirigan and Baghra are incredibly powerful, which is how they've been able to live for hundreds of years. The Darkling has faked his death many times, then returned claiming to be a long-lost son or other relative, so nobody realises he's the Black Heretic. Nina didn't actually run away from the Little Palace. She was planted by the Darkling to gain the Conductor's trust and infiltrate his system to learn how he was smuggling Grisha across the Fold, away from service to the Second Army. I really enjoyed the reaction, looking forward to the next episode!
I know it's been like a year but this was a huge spoiler for no reason. Especially since what you wrote about Nina literally gets explained in the next episode. They probably would've learned everything as they watch the show.
Man really love your reaction. I dont know why but the way you guy think and discuss is so interresting, I love it so much. Cant wait for next episode.
-My favorite part, seeing people's faces when The Darkling's true identity is finally revealed.🤣 -This chapter is the favorite of the "darklina" shipers.😉 -The more powerful the Grisha, the longer it lives. -This show is just to show the potential of Kaz's mind and his ability to make plans, because what comes next is the bigest heist of that world.😘👌
Nina's basically a spy for the grisha! She trained in the Little Palace as a soldier, which is why General Kirigan knows her. His concern for her disappearance also showcases his protectiveness over the grisha in general. The show did a great job portraying his character as more morally grey than completely evil. Nina was most likely planning to give the Crows and/or the Conductor in, considering that she made a fake deal with him just to fool him into trusting her. That whole 'Nina's a radical' explanation could be a lie that Nina said in order to win the Conductor's trust.
It kinda makes me sad though, that Nina would limit people’s freedom in that way… but it does set her character up for growth! This way, she learns that her country and leader has flaws and she has to accept those over the course of the show.
The grisha lives longer than others especially when they often use their powers. It was often described, in book, after a grisha was using their power to be glowing or have a youthful, healthy glow.
Although seeing it that way, it would be interesting for them to become enemies. I don't know, but I would like to see a different development in the characters.
@@alealcantaram I don’t know how else to say this without spoiling their relationship but these two are far from becoming enemies they actually love each other deeply and are canon in the books. This is a great episode with a lot of info to collect... About a couple of your questions: Nina's mission was actually about the Conductor and finding the Grisha who deserted from the Second Army I believe... When we first hear from her is from the conductor because she was gaining his thrust in order to both find Grisha who were defecting thru the Fold and to deal with the Conductor who is known to transport Grisha out of the Little Palace. Kirigan (The Darkling) is one interesting character LOL... He is the 'Black Heretic' and pretty much immortal, they will touch up a little bit on the HOW but in the comments of the later episodes when you guys post them I will probably comment with a more detail explanation for it... But like you said, you will see the different perspective even more now that the truth about his identity is known But like I said, you will get info in the rest of the episodes of this season and I'm sure the comments will explain any questions you guys have LOL
@@althor1247 both darklina6 and Malina have toxic parts. Especially, in the books. She should have ended up alone in the books. But BOTH are toxic. 100%.
Regarding your question about what Nina would have done to aid the heist had she not been taken by the Drüskelle, her job was to get them into the little palace and provide them with information relating to the layout of the palace as she'd trained there as a Grisha. Since she'd been taken, though, the Crows had to resort to stealing the blueprints of the palace, hence the previous mini-heist where Kaz pretended to be a sculptor so Inej could steal the blueprints.
Nina was never going to let them into the Little Palace. She probably doesn't know about Kirigan's/ The Darkling's true nature and she still works as a spy for him. She was trying to fool the Conductor into trusting her so she could give him in as a traitor.
okay so here is what i remember from the books. Grisha's power makes them healthier so the more power they have and the more they use it the longer they live. so yes Kirigan is the black heretic and he has lived for so long. The power he used to make the fold is merzost which is dark power that is not supposed to be used, that's why the humans that lived on the fold lands turned to volcra when the fold was created. Grisha don't do magic they do small science think of it as controlling or manipulating elements at their molecular level. Corporalki deal with human bodies and you have heartrenders and healers and etherealki are summoner and they wear blue kefta inferni (fire) squaller (air) and tidemaker (water i think) then purple keftas are for Meterialki and there are Durasts (solid materials) and Alkmi (chemicals) and both are referred to as fabricators. As for Genya she can heal but she also uses materials to modify so she kind of is a mix between Healer and Durast. As for Inej she comes from a family of performer which is why she is agile and that why she works as a spy for Kaz. She is spiritual and believes in saints which is why she believes in Alina and she refuses to kill. The Stag is an amplifier. It is one of morozova's amplifiers. Morozova is an ancient grisha that created 3 mystical animals. to get the power of an amplifier a grisha must kill the animal.
In my opinion, his actions are kinda justified. All he wanted was to make Grisha safe and he tried many things. He tried to hide, to fight against the kings and even to serve them, but Grisha still weren't safe so now he wants to try his last option and that being the fold. His actions are justified, but his methods are a extrem. Thought I still believe that there is a chance for redemption if he has Alina on he's side, at one point in the book he actually said that she could make him a better person.
I know he used, lied and manipulated Alina. And she wasn't the only one who suffered because of him, Zoya, Genya and Baghra suffered too and nothing could justified the way he used all of them. Thought I still believe that it isn't entirely his fault. Baghra is the one that told him that he has no equal and that he isn't meant to bow to a king and he was just a child so you can't blame him for listening to his mother. He is definitely power-hungry and likes being the one who controls everything, but I can understand his actions even if him methods are extrem.
The Darkling wants to expand the fold, but the Volcra are attracted to him. The Sun Summoner can protect him from the Volcra. He saya he is hid own decendant every generation.

He’s actually well over 500 years old. The shadow fold is around 400 years old and he already knew then that he was immortal and hadn’t aged.
Also, if a grisha doesnt use his/her power they get sick often and age faster, which is how people identify hiding grisha.
