At 42, I’m in the process of starting over. I’m currently working at a milk factory, earning less than twenty dollars an hour, and it feels like I’m stuck in a dead-end job. I wish I could just pack up and move to Thailand, but my finances won’t allow that right now. I’m back in school (no previous college degree), pursuing a double major in computer science and physics, with minors in math and MIS. My hope is that once I graduate, I can land a remote job and finally have the chance to experience Thailand the way you have. Until then, I’ll keep dreaming and working toward that goal.

@@AndreTJones yes. Finishing school would be a great advantage. Good luck 🍀 please note that minimum wage in Thailand is 20 - ish dollars PER DAY so landing a good job is also very important here.
Layer in a few cloud certifications with a specialty or two. Also, be open to online marketing, ad revenue streams and other options. Always pay yourself first by investing. Do a 3 month tour of Thailand to get your feet wet too. You are on the right track.

I have a Google data analytics certification and a video on how I went through it on my LinkedIn. I’m learning Python as we speak but I’m out of options. I’m hoping that my school career center can help out. If you have more specific suggestions I’m eager to listen.
I'm living outside of the U.S. and I'm so much happier. Life is better when you are truly free. The mental health freedom is unreal. Also, the quality of food is so much better. I just left Mexico and I'm currently in Guatemala, but hope to get to Thailand in the future.

You literally have the most fun lifestyle - living in the most lively and most visited city on earth, meeting your girls for hot pot, going to the market to pick up fresh ingredients then back to your condo to cook a Thai meal. People literally dream of this cosmopolitan / international lifestyle. Then you can just go off to Bali, Singapore, Hanoi and even Tokyo for a weekend trip if you want. Fun lifestyle.
Was just pricing tickets for Thailand. I've visited several times and loved it, the food, the people, the beaches, top notch. I lived abroad for 4 years in Saudi Arabia and loved it. Working on my Masters Degree and will be done in May. My hope is to get into a place where I can work from anywhere in the world so I can live anywhere.

I've been working on this goal of mine to move and live abroad. America is NOT for its people anymore. The cost of living continually rises. It's also hard to even afford groceries or even basic necessities. And don't get me started on the Crime here in the states. it's almost too scary to even leave your house. I'm still keeping my faith, I also been saving every penny, me and my husband is so ready to live freely and not be stressed here. I've also even considered Thailand as our personal home. already booked a trip for next year to venture and learn the culture and ways of the Thai people. you are my inspiration to keep pursing my dreams and to never let anything get in the way of that.
Yep I notice I get treated better in certain European countries and South East Asian countries than I do in the UK, and my money goes a lot further. I do also think that because it's a fresh place that maybe I notice the positive a lot more. I'm off to South America soon to see what it's like and then back into South East Asia (Thailand or Vietnam) after
The hot pot restaurant is so cute! I used to take my daughter to a hot pot restaurant in California before we relocated to the Gulf Coast. The setup was different than the restaurant you ladies went to, but it was very good. Edited to add a tip. I notice when you're cutting food you're prepping, your cutting board slides around. To avoid that from happening and to avoid accidents, put a damp paper towel underneath. It'll help secure your cutting board. Just a little something I picked up in culinary school way back when.

You are probably going to "Meh" this but in 2020i braided my own hair into tiny braid and I use a locking tool to interlock it similar to Sister locs and I never looked back. Unregettable! I don't miss those appointments.
I did the same thing for my sister ❤ 2 years ago and her hair is gorgeous! We get stopped in the streets all the time and people offer me money to do theirs but it was a labor of love. She is my only client

Main thing in Thailand is you no longer have to be conscious of your race like in the West. That is a shock to the system for many Black Americans, but once they experience it, it's like all of the stress they grew up with melts away. It's the Buddhist and Asian culture.

I know why I moved back to the US after living Japan for four years, but in a lot of ways I wished I would have just stayed there. The cost of living here is extreme and the job prospects are terrible. It's weird to be priced out of your own country but here we are lol. And that's just the surface level view of it. I’ve really been thinking about moving abroad. But my biggest thing holding me back is my car. I paid it off and honestly don’t want to get rid of it because I don’t want to eventually return to a super high car payment. Smh.
I put my car in storage when I moved abroad. Kept the insurance too. When I came back I had to make a few repairs but I did not regret it at all. If you can put in storage or leave with a trusted person, consider that. I wouldn't stay still for a car you can always sell it if push comes to shove and get a little bucket when you come back.
@@Fasting_Decluttering_Elevating not worth it in my opinion. I don't think it's worth it to really ship much of anything when you live abroad. Also depending on where you go you may not need a car. I bought a car one time when I lived in the Middle East, in other places I just took cabs, walked or used transportation provided by my job.
The first time i moved abroad to abroad, to Spain... i left my car with my folks. But an option is to put it in storage. I didn't want to get rid of mine fully either. so i understand. dont let that stop you from going

Hey Hey. For your braids, have you thought of getting crochet braids in the middle and just doing regular braids around the whole perimeter (since you like to pull it up in a bun)? I rarely do buns so I used to just get the first few rows twisted/braided/nu locs and crochet the rest of my head. Or I would do a pony tail but put a headband on to cover the back crochet.

Do you wash off your food (ie salmon and salad) before you cook it with the sink water or do you use bottled water? I also saw that you washed off your cooking utensils and dishes with tap water... Hey Hey. For your braids, have you thought of getting crochet braids in the middle and just doing regular braids around the whole perimeter (since you like to pull it up in a bun)? I rarely do buns so I used to just get the first few rows twisted/braided/nu locs and crochet the rest of my head. Or I would do a pony tail but put a headband on to cover the back crochet.
Its def. a thought. but i like to wear hats (love it actually) and so it wouldnt work

Do you wash off your food (ie salmon and salad) before you cook it with the sink water or do you use bottled water? I also saw that you washed off your cooking utensils and dishes with tap water... Is that ok as well? You won't get a funky Thai belly if you do... Appreciate the videos. Keep em coming.
