    Dear Nina, thank you so much for making this video tutorial. I made the Vietnamese Vermicelli Rice Noodles yesterday. It tasted so good, chewy and held its texture and taste. My sincere thanks from the bottom of my heart to you and God bless you and your family.

      Regarding our family picture... That picture was taken 3 years ago when our family of 4 came back to VN for a week charity function in Hoi An. After that, we traveled Asia for another 4 weeks. That was one of most memories trip for our family.

    I love your video and detailed instructions. I will try to make it and let you know how it turns out. I don't use food made in China or Vietnam, and that's the reason I make rice stick noodle at home versus buying made in China noodles sold at the market. Is there another brand of rice starch? Thanks.

      I am glad you love my video my dear 🥰. Let's me share with you the reason I started making Asian noodles at home! Our two kids love Japanese ramen and Korean noodles. I used to buy those fresh ramen/noodles from the store until we took a trip to Viet Nam 2 years ago. We spent 5 weeks traveling around Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, and Korea). When we got back, I was going to throw all the food in our fridge away and noticed those store bought ramen/noodles were still looking mighty fresh/good 🤦🏻‍♀️. That was when I decided to make fresh noodles at home because I realized how much preservatives have been put into those fresh store bought noodles.
      I haven't seen any other brand for rice starch. Please let me know if you can find other brand, thanks in advance!

    You so so hardcore to make your own fresh rice noodles! I'd love to eat fresh noodles, but too lazy to work with dough (that's why I don't like baking). :)

    Can I use the philips spaghetti disk? Also just potato starch?

    • @SoSimYum
      @SoSimYum  3 роки тому

      Yes you can use spagetti disk but the noodles will be bigger and they will need to be boiled longer. I haven't tried making rice vermicelli using only potato starch so I don't know how the texture will be. You can give it a try and let me know.

      I am glad you like it. Anyhow, rice starch and rice flour are NOT the same. I have tried this recipe using rice flour and the texture came out not the as springy.
