These SECRETS are Too Good to Keep | Tool Storage Cabinet

  • It’s time to build a shop tool storage cabinet to organize my woodshop. I made this tool storage cabinet from birch plywood and cherry hardwood and incorporated drawers and movable shelves to give my tools and supplies a place to live. One of the most essential parts of any shop is organization, and my old shelving unit was becoming a bit of a catch-all which kills productivity. But this weekend build is the perfect solution for that and will help me quickly find the tools I’m looking for in future projects.
    Let me know how you think it turned out in the comments. Enjoy the build!

    Very nice cabinet and a good video. Thanksb
    I’m also glad you used those kind of drawer pull. No end sticking out to catch things like shop apron pant, power cords.

    Great build and awesome video, thanks for sharing. Glue up is definitely the most stressful for me, specifically when you have two boards glued and held together and just can’t find that clamp you need. Thanks again for the continued great content.

    The most stressful thing in the shop for me is clearing a workspace lol. Storage is definitely my Achilles heel. After that I suppose the second most stressful thing is sanding…I really dislike sanding 😐

    Most stressful: Table saw since my Ryobi table saw fence is terrible.

    Nice project, I’m thinking of doing something very similar. Most stressful for me is doing repeated layout on multiple pieces and trying to keep things consistent.

    most definitely the glue up. feel like I'm racing against the clock and my head will turn into a pumpkin if I go over the allotted time.

    Nice build. I got into woodworking about five years ago. I used to paint everything at first because I like the monochromatic look of my evolving shop. I’ve since become quite fascinated by the colors of different wood species and have gone to using oils to accentuate the beauty of wood even if it’s for my shop space. All that to say … why not go the extra step and put some kind of oil on that cherry trim and make that wood pop!

    • @TimberBiscuitWoodworks
      @TimberBiscuitWoodworks  Рік тому

      Thanks! I might go back one day and oil it. I'm just undecided about it right now so I figure its better to wait.

    since i am new to anything woodworking, looking at the plans are stressful haha. once i get started though its definitely the first few cuts that stress me out since im bound to make a measurement mistake.

    NICE build. Just curious as to where you can get the BB plywood? Cannot seem to find any here in South Florida. Wood suppliers would make BANK if they stocked the stuff, even with shipping from the West Coast.

    • @TimberBiscuitWoodworks
      @TimberBiscuitWoodworks  6 місяців тому

      Thanks man! I get mine from a local sheet goods supplier, but my lumber yard just started stocking sheet goods too. You might have luck calling a local cabinet shop as asking who they use.

    Thanks especially for the tip about installing the drawer slides! Too many guides make this seem far more complicated 🧩
    One question if I may, re. the initial breakdown cut on the TS which seemed a bit sketchy (I literally said to myself that it would be safer to do with a circular saw) and then later we see you have a tracksaw! Obviously doing it with that would be way safer, and accurate enough for sure, so why not the tracksaw for that cut also?

    • @TimberBiscuitWoodworks
      @TimberBiscuitWoodworks  Рік тому

      My track isn’t long enough. But cutting sheets at the table saw isn’t sketchy, it’s just hard because their heavy.

    Good video and a nice design, very basic. As a long time woodworker (45 plus years), I would just say seeing someone wearing gloves around machinery always makes me nervous! Way back in high school shop class, it was drilled into us to never have loose clothing or jewelry on around power tools. If the blade catches even a small part of a glove, you can have a serious injury. Keep woodworking and be safe!

    • @TimberBiscuitWoodworks
      @TimberBiscuitWoodworks  Рік тому

      Thanks! Yeah I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who’s not comfortable in the shop. I have had bad cuts from plywood so I always wear gloves when breaking it down.

  • @reaper060670
    @reaper060670 Рік тому

    Bro u gotta make the video a longer format. I know u don't wanna hear that but I wish woodworkers would make a set of videos where parts 1-3 or 4 were put up for sale with the plans. Now that would be lovely jubley. I hate clicking onto videos that run through everything too quickly. I guess I will need to do some classes on how to or woodworking for Newbies. I love working with wood but I don't have the basic grounding atm. U know what I mean? How to cut 90 degree edges or to have a perfectly straight top and side so I can work from there.
    So I have a question?? Q. If I want to build a cabinet or workbench with drawers what should be the norm in regards to width, depth & height??

    • @TimberBiscuitWoodworks
      @TimberBiscuitWoodworks  Рік тому

      I would love to make longer, more in depth videos. Unfortunately, I can’t have one video for all ability levels. I do have other videos that go into the basics. And I have plans to do more in-depth videos on a membership basis! So stay tuned😀
      As for your question, size is going to be dependent on your space and your height. Wish there was an easier answer
