Artist Spotlight: Alan Sonfist

The University of Houston’s Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts invited pioneering Land artist Alan Sonfist to work with students and faculty across college departments to create a series of paintings and works on paper. Collectively titled, Earth of Houston, these new pieces use student-gathered soil samples from 11 unique ares in Houston as raw material.
Earth of Houston, works on paper, is on view at Blaffer Arts museum December 8 2022 through January 20, 2023.
