Artist Reconstructs Image Of An African American Woman

Houston-based artist, Delita Martin, uses printmaking, sewing and other mixed media to create artworks. Her layered narratives often focus on women -- depictions of African-American women in particular.
Martin's piece The Dinner Table is her latest attempt to showcase a range of black identities to spark conversation. The installation is on view at Art League Houston through July 21, 2018.
