  • Modern Warfare III brought back the ability to see detailed stats for your weapons which is amazing but how much can you trust them? Today, I wanted to share exactly how much each of these stats can be trusted after many hours of hand testing. What are your thoughts on the detailed stats tab in MWIII?

    Accurate enough for casual use but Also leaves enough room so that Ace can make more in depth videos. Pretty decent over all.

      wish they were more accurate. the damage locations should be accurate and should show damage at all ranges. sprint to fire time for super sprint and reload cancel time

    Honestly just having damage values and rpm makes it so much easier to judge a gun. You can quickly calculate a ttk.

      Except for burst guns, don’t look at their RPM stat because it means jack.

      Looks like the BAS-B is the best gun in the game based on TTK and consistency it seems. Definitely the best gun I’ve used personally

      What does that ttk value mean though when the game is dynamically changing it with damage and health modifiers ? What's the point of optimizing weapon choice when the game's engagement algorithms are the deciding factor in fights?

    The one stat that's missing and is kinda problematic is stability. So many attachments change stability, including "firing aim stability" (whatever that means), but the detailed stats screen doesn't elaborate on that nor does it even state that it exists at all other than the amount it moves the accuracy bar. I was kind of hoping for more detail on this since it's probably one of the most vague stats in recent games, both in terms of how they actually work (does it effect sway will shooting? moving? everything? only idle? in what way?) and it's actual values.

      Yeah, I hate when they're extremely vague on what they mean.
      If I had to guess, it's probably similar to "Recoil Stabilization" in MW2 which seemed to effect how much your sight would shake while firing, especially for prolonged periods of time aka just spraying at a target that's long range.
      Again, just a guess and it's something they need to elaborate on, because I'm getting sick of all the hidden recoil and accuracy stats the last couple of COD games have had.

      @@swat1337 Yeah I was thinking the same thing. It also seems to have replaced "recoil smoothness" on a lot of if not all MWII attachments like suppressors (not to mention how confusing that stat was too). However, other attachments that used to have recoil stabilization in MWII now have actual recoil control instead...
      I'm just gonna chalk it up that firing aim stability is the stability or idle sway of the gun while firing, but that makes me wonder if idle aiming stability helps with that or if it's really just recoil stabilization with a new name like you suggested.

      I may be wrong but I think it's related to recoil control vertical recoil and horizontal recoil
      If you sum this 3 up you should obtain "firing stability"

      Slightly tangential, but as a player that loves sniping I’m sad in a similar vein that “Idle Aim Stability” is not mentioned at all in the detailed stats… it’s kinda important but it is what it is

    I believe the burst rate of fire is reflective of how often you can fire a full burst. Basically it is bursts per minute, not rate of fire

      Or maybe it is the fire rate divided by the burst delay and they got it wrong? And wouldn’t they write it as bursts per minute rather than rate of fire?

      Accurate or not (and they are accurate) I'd rather have them than the goofy IW stat bars any day

    I'm happy that we have the stats we have but I'd love to see ALL the relevant stats. Also, I'd like the stats to display proper values for the ones that currently are wrong. But I'm happy with the game so far.

    Will you do a video on best attachments in each category? The gunsmith is so damn overwhelming and confusing to try and pick the right attachments

      I usually just look at the attachments that has the least downside. That's an easy way to build a better gun.

    Unrelated but - one thing I wanted to mention is I actually really enjoy other modes with this COD. With MW2 I played DMZ & coop once and never touched it again, with this one I really dig the War mode (I didn't have the chance to play WW2) and MWZ is actually pretty fun, better than I initially expected. My main complaint about zombies is that I wish we still would get an optional round based zombie mode, like I'm fine playing MWZ every now and then and if they will pump content into it then I won't be disappointed, but I wish there was some alternative for that.

      The war mode is so fun honestly. Needs more maps but its great and id love to even try to play it as like a competitive mode and really try to play it sweaty with like a party or something.

      Is "war mode" a PvE game mode against AI with guns? Or is it a PvP game mode?

      @@hughquigley5337 war mode is a pvp only mode with a scenario based like map where you have attack and defense, attack has to complete certain objectives and defense has to stop them until the time elapses. These objectives vary from map to map, in MW3 it was like capture 2 points -> move a tank like a payload from Overwatch -> plant two bombs.

    I think it’s totally understandable to show the weapon ranges for each and then a best class setup video for them.

    Generally happy with the detailed stats honestly. Obviously there's room to improve, but they have more than enough information to decide on the fly what gun to mess around with next, and it only takes two games max to decide a gun isn't your style

    Even with the inconsistencies, I LOVE that we have the detailed stats. No more eyeballing a line graph GUESSING which attachments give me the best ads, damage range, and bullet velocity. Now i can get an exact answer on which attachments are OBJECTIVELY better

    One thing I noticed is the detailed stats don't always mirror the bars. On the mw3 first sniper if you use any of the mw2 bipods, the bars don't say it, but it actually improves ads speed in detailed stats. Based on firing range it does in fact buff ads speed

      yea whats up with that Bipod reducing ADS time on Sniper Rifles, is this wrong in the ingame Stats Menu or did they mix something up ???
      There are a shit ton of thos examples not only Bipod, for a few weapons there are completely different Values for some attachments

      ​@@Bloodreav3rwilling to bet for conditional attachments like that it's talking about the ads time when the bipod is being used. Any attachment that causes different animations or has non-standard stat modifications will probably have that reflected in weird ways in the detailed stats

      @@Bloodreav3r They inverted the value modifier by mistake. It's supposed to be +10.5% (slower ADS), but it's -10.5% (Quicker ADS).
      Hence why the simple pros and cons listing says it decreases ADS speed.

    Yay, Gun Guides!! Maybe you have mentioned it before, but if not, question: Are you planning on doing something with MW2 guns for MW3? I don't expect you'd re-do gun guides for all of them "MW3-edition"... just wondering if it would be worth it IF they modified anything. Apparently, on a previous video you mentioned that most MW2 guns could just be ported liek they are, and would be competitive in the new MW3 TTK, but am wondering if that woudl be always the case... recoil, etc?

    I remember this video for the CW stats, and they were wildy different / inaccurate, so I'm very pleased with these MWIII ones, and the depth they've gone too. I think they're good enough to help decide on attachments, as in MWII I would always steer clear of anything lowering ADS cos sometimes it'd be a massive penalty, especially on barrels, but no way of knowing

      I also noticed that the green and red arrow stats can vary wildly. There were two attachments that both had one red arrow for ADS speed, but one was +5% and the other was +15% !!!

    I like that the stats at least are correct with the stat changes of recoil and ADS speed and sprint out etc so you can balance for fastest ADS and best recoil etc.
    Really useful to see how the attachments work. I mean some are completely different from what you think. Some offer huge horizontal recoil reduction or vertical or balanced.
    It's great tool to find best attachment based on recoil pattern and ADS speed of each gun.

    I figured they wouldn't go full XclusiveAce/True Game Data level of detail for these stats. You can trust most of it, it just doesn't seem to give you all the nitty gritty details like a gun guide would.

    I feel like the ttk is too high that’s my biggest annoyance also not being able to unlock half the game without a daily challenge which is only 3 then just wins. Which playing solo is very annoying trying to do on any team based mode

    You can still use the reload stat and just know it’s less because it’s using the full reload. Still a helpful stat. This video boils down to “leg shots not included.”

    it wouldn't shock me if the arms are included in the Upper Torso damage just because of how often enemy operators have their arms up, commonly in the way of the actual Upper Torso.

      No, f**k you, lmao. That BS just adds an unnecessary layer of complexity to the Gunsmith. Just give us our attachments with the stated pros/cons and let that be it. Why do we need tuning after all these years? Plus, it's pretty much a placebo effect anyway. I didn't notice a damn thing when I "tuned" different attachments. The only one that I liked was the optic position tuning. Some of the optics were just too close to the player's "face"/camera.

    Are you gonna do gun guides for weapons of MW II in MW III? because they change drasticly, like the RAAL LMG was one of the best LMG's on MW II but on MW III is one of the worst LMG's

    Sniper Damage Values
    I noticed that although the detailed stats for snipers have headshot damage values ranging from 270 all the way to 480, weapons such as the FJX Imperium (480 Headshot Damage), MCPR 300(480 Headshot Damage), Victus XMR (320 Headshot Damage) and KATT AMR (360 Headshot Damage) which all exceed the 3 plate total health value in WZ - When adjusting the Firing range dummies to 3 Plates (300 Total Health) the above weapons still do not 1 shot head shot at any of the 3 ranges, but do when 2 played (250 Total Health).
    Similar to last years COD Next event with WZ 2.0, 1 shot snipers have been advertised and then potentially taken away at full release. I understand that the community is somewhat split on this, but I don’t believe tanked Bullet velocity ammo types such as explosive rounds are the best solution, and much rather the Caldera system in which snipers 1 shot killed up to a variety of ranges would be much more appropriate.
    I think the sniper community is critical when it comes to re-watchability and “hitting clips”. WZ 2.0 had an abundance of issues that made it slow/boring and had less re play value and I think having a healthy sniping community plays a part in avoiding that with the new map integration.
    Thoughts?

    Do look into M14 EBR - they promised to rebalance the guns in order to keep their character from previous game, but this one has the same upper torso dmg and same RPM as in MW2 - so effectively what used to be OHK to head, 2 shots to body weapon, is now no OHK headshot, 3 shots to kill even up-close, while keeping the same RPM and what feels like more or less same amount of recoil. Was average at best in MW2, more like meh, and now, with this masterful "balance pass" its literally useless.

    Can you make a video on attachments and stats? There are quite a few attachments that say they do one thing in the simplified stats but the opposite in the detailed stats.
    For example, with the first sniper rifle, its bipod attachments say they harm ADS time but in detailed stats, they actually help cut it down like 10%. Which stats do i trust then? :d

    I’m curious if the stats for the SVA show the fire rate of the first few bullets, or the fire rate that’s applied in sustained fire. Thanks to the stats, I managed to calculate TTK of all weapons including MWII. BAS-P and M13B have relatively quick TTK for this game

    I noticed the Micro Uzi (Secondary) gets a considerable decrease in RPM when in Akimbo, yet the stats show nothing about this.
    Also Shotgun Damage needs # of pellets shown.

    Not completely happy bc stat bars are still inaccurate for attachments which is annoying. Negative effects aren't nearly as well represented on the bars as positive ones, making it look like you have overall positive effects when you don't. ADS time is a common one. Also, there needs to be an option to see the cumulative percentage effects of all of the attachments. That would pretty much solve the issue

    I'm still experiencing buggy animation where my character arm glitches outwards from my chest (arms blocks ads aiming as it stretches toward iron sights), furthermore, when I'm using the PKP LMG; I try to open the underbarrel tab and it takes me to a sub menu like when you load in to CoD servers and it says Error. I'm assuming both of these issues are tide specifically to the PKP LMG.😑

      I believe kick is how much the gun jumps on the first shot, could be wrong though

    On the Holger Marksman version, reload when empty is painfully slow
    The reload is complete only 1s after the animation

    I hope they get around to adding Melee damage for Breacher muzzles. smacking someone expecting them to die only for them to look at you stupid isn't fun. I also hope they add the real recoil values... cause that's just weird to hide.

    I'm skeptical about them, because for one of the snipers, when hovering over the bipod attachment, it states that the bipod has an ADS speed penalty, while the detailed stats show a buff instead, contradicting one another.

      Like x13 zoom increasing ADS when it's stated it should decrease it (because of higher zoom)

      All of the bipods increase the ads speed of that sniper, and the one with ads penalty increases it the least, so it's still kind of accurate, relatively speaking.
      There seems to be an error where all the bipods increase its ads speed for some reason

    I think that for the burst guns it's telling you how many bursts per minute the fire rate is, rather than how many rounds

    Hey Ace, I've noticed something and just want to make sure I'm not going crazy, if it's a glitch that's only happening in my test cases, or if it's by design? It seems that you can't steady your aim with marksman or sniper rifles with optics up to and including a 4x zoom. However, a 4x-8x (for arguments sake) variable zoom will still be able to steady at the 4x zoom. I was wondering if this is something you've noticed and/or if you have any thoughts on it?

    You know I noticed this. I was messing with my grips. I switch to one that has almost identical stats but didn’t slow down the ADS speed as much and for whatever reason the gun just felt so much worse.

    Ace…. Have you found any bug regarding health regen not actually working or the kill cam/outnumbered damage numbers aren’t 100% true… so I get lit up bright red screen live capture a obj regen full health normally least 45 seconds before pushing, to then die and the dmg report say I was 46 previous damage and even after the long gap and regen the 2nd guy only had to do 104 damage to kill me ?

    any idea whats up with the KATT-AMR bipod options? the stats show them as having a significant ADS decrease of 10-13%, though, thats cntrary to the attachment descriptions.

    this is probably a super requested video already, but are you working on a video for ghost? how much do we need to be moving for it to activate? if we change direction while strafing do we show up on the next uav sweep?

    There are some attachments where the written pros and cons are different than the detailed stats. For example it might say nothing about recoil control in the written list but when you check the detailed stats it gives 5% recoil control. I’m curious if these are accurate

      Pretty sure they are because the Bipod for the first new sniper you can use says worse ADS speed, but the Bipod increases ADS by the most % out of any other attachment. It's noticeable when testing.

    I am loving the game but yeah, I´ve had some weird bugs:
    1. Loadout menu keeps opening at random moments
    2. I´ve experienced that weird angle bug after respawn
    3. Some attachments change the point of view, it´s like my cam goes to my stomach and I can´t see because my arms get in the way and once I remove the attachment the bug goes away, so I know it´s because of the attachment.
    4. I don´t know if it´s a bug (because I didn´t play MWII) but I hate that if there is a UAV and you kill someone, the next swip shows the red dot on the minimap AFTER you´ve killed them. I don´t get used to it and makes me look for another player but no one is around.

    I think the depth of the stats is just fine for about 90% of applications. Most of the time I just want to know if the recoil penalty is worth the ADS speed boost or not

    We should come together and demand Stat tracking for the SBMM. Have it show how much it messes with your ping and other stats to compensate for bad players in the same lobby as you.

    How does the damage values work on shotguns? Does the damage value count each pellet? Or is it the sum of all pellets?

    There is a trigger attachment on the tyr that states it reduces the fire rate to 280 rpm, but it takes almost a full second for it to fire after you pull the trigger 😂😂😂

    2:40 I KNEW IT! Sometimes when I drop shot at a weird time I end up only getting leg shots AND BOY IS IT NOTICEABLE IN REGARDS TO TTK LOL (I also assume I'm mixing in some of these LOW DAMAGE LOWER TORSO SHOTS ON CERTAIN GUNS ALSO), compared to say MWII where health was lower and maybe even leg damage was higher? /shrug ADAPT AND OVERCOME, just aiming for body/heads now lol

    Some attachments are a little messed up like the 9mm daemon doesn’t have a fast draw grip there’s a holo sight with a magnifier but every time you spawn in the sights broken

    For some reason even with tact stance fully off, while ads sliding, my character still does it, for like a second or so, throws me off.. is there a way to fix this? Or is it supposed to be like this or is it a bug?

    I’m okay with guns have different limb damages to add some minor differences between them, but having the upper and lower torso hitboxes be different is weird

    Ace can you do a video on if killstreaks are better than scorestreaks? I go on long streaks but never get to my advanced UAV using scorestreaks. Wonder if kills are better in this game

    I did some math to try and figure out what is happening with the burst guns and I could be wrong, but that might be time between trigger pulls. Maybe they are being treated like semi-auto weapons in the code?

    Could you test data around slug kill potential in MWIII Vs MWII? I used some of my favorite one shot builds from MWII and all I get is hit markers and 75XP kill assists . Even sometimes with headshots.

      They didn't rebalance any of the MW2 guns for MW3. All of the numbers are the exact same, meaning a lot of the MW2 guns are just bad, with some of them being straight up unusable. For example, the SPR, SAB, and Crossbow all REQUIRE a headshot to get a one shot kill with 150 hp. I'd imagine slugs are the same. Not what you want to hear, but just don't use them right now until they get their stats actually rebalanced, if at all.

    The effective damage range of the Lockwood mk2 w/ the buffalo barrel is 10m. That doesn’t seem right.

    Anyone else have a massive inconsistency with the shotguns and slug rounds. According to the stats on the 680 upper torso damage is nearly 200 same with lower torso damage. but at 8m+ its a 2 hit kill, The only way I've consistently gotten one hit kills is with head shots.
