When people say "the manga's better" they forget to mention that the anime cuts like 2/3 of the Story out. You know how there are 2 Full Metal alchemists animes, One had to make its own story/ ending because the manga wasn't finished, it was still good tbh. And "Brotherhood " came in to give the complete, and true-to-manga adaptation. Soul Eater needs the treatment since the anime honestly fell off when they started making their own story. Looking forward to it getting the Brotherhood treatment, cause the manga is gas.
@@quadzxy The 2003 anime cuts off around volume 7 or around episode 12-13 of Brotherhood and does its own thing. It tends to lean darker and more melancholic. Both shows have their strengths and I won't get super into the debate on which is better. But 03 stays both consistently darker and more tragic, and leans into different themes as a result. They have different main villains. Brotherhood also has much more humor. I still would recommend watching 03 if you can find it. But I prefer Brotherhood overall. Edit: Also '03 has a fair bit of filler as I recall but I could be misremebering. Despite that, it's only 51 episodes (and a movie kinda) vs Brotherhood's 64
Its definitely not for everyone and it seems like people who do like souleater all like it for different reasons. Like my brother hates Maka and thinks she has no character
Yeah the ending was weak but it was a rush job, not at all what was in the manga. My other problem with Soul Eater is they build up this Kishin guy to be this terrible evil who can never be released because he makes people crazy just by being near him and eventually the whole world goes psycho, but after his initial release and fight with Death Sama, he just fucks off for a while and then isn't really menacing for the rest of the whole show. Pretty big let down. "I love Soul Eater, but I hate it sometimes" I so get this sentiment, with your favorite anime, heck with mostly anything you really like you also become hyper aware of the flaws, some things I like have some pretty big flaws, it doesn't make me stop liking it, but more makes me wish they could improve it so it didn't have such glaring issues.
I understand most others have said it, but you wouldnt have these same issues if you read the manga or if the anime had the room to pace along the anime
I remember first watching the Soul Eater anime and being pretty disappointed with the last 1/3 of it Then one day I was bored just reading stuff on the Soul Eater wiki, and I end up on the pages for “the clowns” And I’m like “what the heck the clowns weren’t this cool or interesting in the anime, did I miss something?” Only to find out their entire existence was changed from the manga to the anime, and that basically half the story was just skipped over in the anime So I decided to read my first manga and it was totally worth it the manga for soul eater is so much better than the anime, and the parts the anime skipped are pretty much the best parts of the entire story. I really hope we get an anime remake like FMA, but until that day the manga is definitely worth reading over the anime.
I also really want to like Soul Eater more, it definitely feels like a turn your brain off to enjoy kinda thing. Which is fine, but like you said it was just all over the place. And Soul Eater Not looks like the most cookie cutter Shonen anime ever! Fire Force does too, but at least it had personality to stand out from the others in a way. I have no idea if Fire Force is better than Soul Eater, however seeing as how I haven't heard anything about Fire Force in a negative way I can assume the mangaka picked up the slack that Soul Eater's anime had and put it into Fire Force it seems
The mangaka picked up the slack ?? Bruh the mangaka makes the *manga* ,READ the soul eater manga, the anime is literally about 1/3rd of the full story. One of the best parts about the manga is how it makes so many of the "side story stuff" relevant for the big final fight in- [spoiler pause for effect]:. THE MOOOOOOOOON
Read the manga bro. The anime falls apart right after the blizzard time warp arc
Yeah The Ending (anime) had me tight I was like dante (The Heck is this?)

There's hope for a remake after Fire Force ends. Given that it's the same author and some other reasons that i won't spoil
The manga is 100x better. I highly recommend reading it. It’s one of my favourites to this day
Its definitely not for everyone and it seems like people who do like souleater all like it for different reasons. Like my brother hates Maka and thinks she has no character
I didnt vibe with the manga in the beginning, but once I got to know the characters it was close to peak

A lot of the comedy is lost through animation. They also seemed to have lost about 2/3 of the story.

After the Fire Force anime is done, there are chances that we can get a remake

@jeom3808 All I'm saying is that where Soul Eater's anime failed, Fire Force excelled. I know it's the same mangaka
Broh it's not even close too the manga ending like yooou not even close
2:25 but black star surpassed God tho?so how its flaw and cringe?
the manga is way better trust me all 113 chapters and 25 volumes
