It's not only your knowledge that's impressive, but also your ability to convey that knowledge. One of my favourite channels. Regards from South Africa.
The best thing I like about your videos is it simple little things to make life easy that anybody can do. You do a great job on explaining what it is you do and showing how to do it. And I think that's very important for any beginner out there to show how you can modify any type of items to make it more user friendly for yourself. Great job !!
U & l think alot alike. Not only r things handy u aint gona lose anything, l have a lanyard with a bunch of small things on it clipped in my pack or attached to my belt. Got a speedy sticher for my bday & have been tryin to think of a project, now l got one. Cheers Blackie thnx & stay safe
Nice mods Blackie. I have a couple of others I have done. I will have to show it soon. I like the zipper. It is a little more permanent than the solution I found. I often just fold mine up and carry it in my pack so once I get to camp, I have a collection back or can make a quick scout kit to venture out from camp. Take care brother.
Hey Blackie, another fine video sir. Always appreciate what you do sir, stay safe, an Roll Tide! Lol don't know who you root for, I was born in Andalusia, my mother in Florala, an she likes Seminoles, Poor thing, lol, my Father Gainesville Fl. An was a Gator fan. Stay safe sir!
Blackie I have an XL pathfinder haversack and I have been thinking of different mods I could make to make it more user friendly. The mods that you made are definitely along the lines of what I've been thinking! Thank you! ATB Sam Adler
great ideas ... just small mods but a huge difference to the functionality, i noticed many of the older haversacks and side bags have belt loops too, something more modern bags seem to be missing,
cool idea.. turn the flap into a map / compass case complete with lanyard for the compass and one for the map in its water proof clear plastic envelope
Blackie, it sounds like you need to put a little beeswax on that zipper! Believe me, do it now or you'll be missing some teeth on that sucker before the year is out
Blackie, I think I'd buy one of those off you! Any chance of you selling some like that? Or showing us how to sew on the zipper? I saw a good video on how to make a Snugpack Patrol Poncho into a sleeping bag with grommets, maybe you could take a look at that & show us how he did that? Thanks for another cool video!

Some good effective simple mods there Blackie, kind of like fine tuning your kit.
Personal preference! Like my flap flat! Extra pocket goes outside front or back. But! Strap and bankline good!!

I also added a zipper to my Pathfinder haversack.

@@BLACKIETHOMAS I know thats why I said it, I think may be an OPSAK by LokSak
Great ideas!!!
Glad you like them!
Quick suggestion - take a bit of fixin' wax and rub some on the zipper. It will lubricate it so that it will run smoother...
very true
True and interesting bushcraft 101

Always tips that I can use 👍
Good to hear!
Good thinking, as usual.
Glad you think so!
Blackie, it sounds like you need to put a little beeswax on that zipper! Believe me, do it now or you'll be missing some teeth on that sucker before the year is out

I use metal shower curtain hooks they work great
good tip brother
Nice mods Blackie!
Glad you like them!
Our daughter made me a haversack.
wonderful..those are often the best kinds
The zipper is the poop ... I've got an opossum pouch haversack, that's going on it
it does make it better
Do you ever wear the haversack while carrying your pack? I've been toying with the idea or would it be too cumbersome?
mine will work together if i let the haversack strap out a bit
Just order a pathfinder haversack and I'm gonna have a zipper sewed on
Noticed the zipper is metal 🤔
👍🏻🇺🇸
yep brass..i used wax on it to make it slide easy
@@BLACKIETHOMAS awesome i prefer brass/metal zippers i like 2 say old school style
What's up Blackie
just hanging in there..hope all is well with you
Is it tough to sew on a machine or did you or your wife do it buy hand. I'll google- it. Thanks
lol nope its easy to do by hand
@@BLACKIETHOMAS Ok, I punch & or drill leather for sheaths. I'll have to try a Murse.Thanks.
