He said it was only 300 and 600 dpi. It scans 1200 dpi too. The software included is ScanSmart and FastFoto which are both compatible with Apple and Windows.
The hardware can only do 600 max. The 1200 option is interpolated.
Quite informative, I like the guy to the right, very authenthic
I love the way the host looks to the camera at 7:44
😆
Ive the FF640 and its been fantastic for my document scanning to PDFs and pdf expert. and the photos on the FF640 is great too. I the only update is the wifi option.
Remember, this is a “one cool thing video”, not an in depth review. It is just to introduce a new product and if you want more information, a person can research for themself. If your doing a video per day then there is no time for exhaustive casting, script writing and setting up props. This was a good video for what I needed and I thank you. (And there are always those who will say any product on the market is trash)
Thanks for the info guys! Appreciate that you took the time to review this for me :)
I am in at 2:23. I will probably buy that scanner, but the guy on the right, although he is probably an expert, gives me shivers
The Old Fella is Great! and you need to remember "We all get there one day"
I don't think it's his age. I think he and the producers (including editors, etc) are unprepared, which is more the producer's fault.
Yep "We all get there one day," but it sounds like Lloyd Christmas & Orin Levy may have been born "there."
And that is why we retire...........
The old dog barks backwards without getting up.
I remember when he was a pup.
Wonderful review. Thank you very much it was exactly what I was looking for.
I couldn't take my eyes off of the guy on the right for the first minute. He looked like whoever was leading the tour group told him to go stand by the table and she would come back for him shortly.
LOL !!!!!! I thought it was just Me thinkin' that !!!!!!
Thanks for the information.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video so much that I watched it this morning and then had my wife watch it this evening. I was so enthralled that I totally forgot that I was trying to find information for a scanner that I need to purchase. I would recommend though that the guy in the sweater be given an accordian and perhaps a newspaper pirate hat for the other guy.
OMG, I couldn't stop laughing; this whole skit was more hilarious than an SNL!!!
OMG, I couldn't stop laughing; this whole skit was more hilarious than an SNL!!! I laughed so doggone hard I couldn't breathe through the years and snot.
Seriously, thank you I really needed that.
I was checking this out I wish it had a SD slot that way I can take pictures with my camera and print from my canera
does it scan both sides of a photo ?
Yes scans both side of docs with one pass, I scan then press down load to google drive!
Will it scan both sides of a photo?
yes
The dude on the right has a look on his face like he's in a hostage situation.
I'm all in with everyone else who says that your presenters are woeful. I'm shopping for this scanner today and motivated more than the average person to watch a video like this, but this is such a mess that I could only stand to watch the first couple of minutes. It's rather surprising that PCMag's editors would think the quality of this video is acceptable.
Ça donne envie d'acheter... ;-)
Guy on the right is Kevin's brother, from The Office
I simply don't find the simplest of info: a device that scans photos AND does a good job in scanning (1 and 2sided) docs
Is this the best rep that Epson has managed to showcase their product???
Ebson ff 680
Rbson ff-680
Where's the post production team? What happened here?!
If you want scans of 4x6 to 8x10 of photos that most likely were printed at 250-300 pixels by a photo lab years ago this will scan very good printable files. I printed 4x6 at 5x7 as I did not have the smaller paper and it does a very good job. They look good on laptop or social media. You will spend much more time taking them out and back in albums than scanning. I could spend years scanning film on my plustek or scanning on my flatbed and maybe have a better file maybe not. Photos on highly embossed paper you will need to learn moire removal in addition to exposure, contrast, color and dust removal if you are ocd, but that goes for any scanner. I scanned over 800 photos already at 600 dpi tiffs with almost no time invested.
"I'm not sure if it's Windows only" ?? You couldn't have found that out for the review?
Look in all fairness, these guys did well, it wasn't scripted, and it gave me some good chuckles.
That was one of my favorite parts
Read the Amazon comments… doubtless a great way to bulk scan a lot of SNAPS!
But
If you have quality shots, use a flatbed (or, for really serious work, and IF you have negatives - positives for you serious Photographers - a macro lens and digital camera)
This time saver produces JPEGS while - even a low end - flatbed will give you a TIFF! What’s the diff? It’s like 1080P video vs 4K ie only wanna see your pics on a smart phone? KISS! But if you wanna put treasured family keepsakes on a monitor… TIFF/4K!
Grandpa needs help
Oh my, how dirty is that laptop? You must sing Springsteen while eating yogurt and working on your computer.
Is it me or does it sound like the product guy has no idea what he's talking about?
The reviewers were not very well prepared or researched.
dude to right is he half asleep or on meds and when coughing at least cover your mouth put me right off
Have mercy-use a video editing software. This video could have been half as long.
Is this a joke?
The laptop used in the shot is incredibly dirty--both the screen and keyboard. Ewwww.
Despite giving only quasi-helpful information (I guess something is better than nothing), there should never be another instance where the guy on the right shows up in a video review again. I really don't intend to be mean but it reflects very, VERY poorly on the magazine that your writer has difficulty expressing himself clearly and has no self-awareness of his presence or the video medium. If you MUST use him or, someone equally versed in the material but painfully weak on camera, invest a couple of bucks in a Producer / Editor. It will radically improve both the look and the content plus, present your otherwise fine publication with the substance of authority that it otherwise has. Even with that being said, I still appreciated whatever seemingly haphazard information was given. Consider this a call to do better. We all know you can. I'd even be happy to show you how!
I have to assume this review was shot and edited by a 5th grader as a homework project...?? woah....
Painful to watch. Like watching president Biden explaining tech.
This is really a lousy review...only prints, not slides, only prints of a limited size?? Geez, what else did you not discuss to provide a customer with relevant information...also please, please check out your presenters as well as their hardware and REHEARSE.
