I work in a Children’s Hospital. It’s good to have birthdays and get older. Old age is a privilege denied to many. Thank God for every day he gives you! Belated Happy Birthday, Cathy!!! 🥳❤️🌼
I cannot understand why some people like to hide their age, it’s a privilege to grow older and feel happy about it. I am 89 yrs young and life spared, looking forward to 90. I am healthy and very much into social media, can still dance among things. Blessings to all.
I can't tell you how many times I've watched this video! It's been an . . . unusual . . . weekend and I just wanted to end it on a happy note, so I decided to watch this yet again. Especially since this is the card that I won! Hope you enjoyed your weekend and hope to see you (virtually) on Wednesday. So thankful for you.
Your intro to live videos is the best out there. Thanks for entertaining us while you wait for everyone to log on. Most content creators fill the space with silence or weird looks. You are the best.
Your design aesthetic is so my jam, Cathy. You are sincerely my MOST favorite designer and cardmaker. I'd be so honored to receive a card that you have crafted. Thank you for sharing your talents with me and the cardmaking community!
Beautiful card Cathy and great live. Thank you. Regarding getting older-totally agree. I have earned every wrinkle and I love them. Getting older is a gift and we should be grateful. Thanks again for inspiration, fun, entertainment, color choices - just all the things.
Happy Birthday! Cheers to all of us getting older. My sister just turned 80, hubby 69, it's all good. Thanks for you videos & stamps & die sets! Still cleaning my blending brushes on a paper towel roll!
Happy belated birthday, Kathy! I'm always inspired by your use and choice of color. Thank you to the viewer who reminded you of this particular technique and your giving it a live test run. I am a perfectionist and my preference is to stamp then die cut. You both saved me time and frustration in pointing out that I need to change my usual order of creation for this particular stamp and die set (which just arrived to my craft room yesterday). Cheers!
I’m thinking if it were a stamp you would use often or that you want to mass produce, you could stamp on your pink paper like you did today, then laminate that whole sheet and have a re-usable template that would keep well for future sessions. Seems like that would work too. Happy belated birthday to Dan, and happy birthday to you coming up!
Dear Cathy, Amen.....you speak volumes ..... We are like a walking Time Machine ......AND ..... We deserve to enjoy each and every moment .... And them some .... Happy Happy Birthday 💕
Such a gorgeous card with beautiful soft colors. Glad that hack worked! I'm going to try it. By the way, not only did you have your red lip/glasses combo but your nails too! Trifecta! Thanks Cathy! Happy birthday to Dan and early happy birthday to you.
I really love how authentic you are on your channel Cathy, it helps make making more relaxing for me. Also love your sense of humour, I know where to go when I need a pick me up 😂😂. Your card today turned out beautifully, and your Spellbinders card, WoW!! Thank you for sharing your making 😊🤗
Cathy that was so fun! Beautiful card but also just such a fun journey in its creation. You are such a joy to watch crafting, love your sense of humour. Hope Dan had a wonderful birthday. Here in New Zealand, it's actually already your birthday, so have a wonderful beautiful day filled with all the things that bring you joy xoxo
Love love love Cathy Z!!!!! She makes trying new things less scary because she is "one of us." A stamper trying new things and giving us the confidence to get it done! xxoo to you Cathy, Your buddy Edie Cain
Your finished card project is so lovely! I always enjoy watching you craft live... the ups and downs and figuring things out remind me "it's just paper" and my cards usually turn out "better than horrible" so it's all good.
Watching this a day late...on MY birthday! You are right; our birthdays are wonderful and something to look forward to ! I am 71 today, and feel great. Yes, a few wrinkles,,,,,I can handle them! Have a great birthday tomorrow!!
This may be one of my last birthdays (next week) and for the past couple of years knowing that my time was more limited I just started to chill and be grateful. I wish I had dome it sooner ; minus the life limiting illness stuff haha. Ya gotta laugh. Xx
Just now able to watch and want to wish you a very Happy Birthday! Blessing to both you and Dan in the coming year. Beautiful color on the card and love the design. Thank you.
I do love the template method for tricky alignment dies like that! I keep them with the set to re-use. I loved the similar card u made last week and I love this one too! It makes me feel calm to look at them- they are quite lovely!
Another tip: for those who don’t have the stencil and sticky mat, but want to blend colors on the die cut…leave the die in the template, then use tape or magnets on the template to hold it in place.
Hi Cathy! It’s Denise. I saw this card and it’s just gorgeous!!!!! I love it! Cool glasses btw. And aging is not good for everyone. It’s been hard on me! Had a bunch of teeth pulled, have an amputated leg, missing a joint in my back, my face is sunken in on one side because of losing the teeth. So your perspective is good if everything hasn’t gone to pot! But if you lose a lot all at once then the sun spots and wrinkles become too much! Know what I’m sayin?
I position something like posty note tape on the back of my die template with the sticky side facing up. Then you can pop in one die cut after another without need in to add tape to the back of each die cut!
Cathy, amazing video as usual! But I was stunned to see the WF code you gave us dropped 25% off, not just 5% off sale items you mentioned at 28:54! Wow! Thanks a lot!
Oh, and a big AMEN to your thoughts on being a woman and getting older! Society needs to stop thinking of physical signs of aging as being “ugly” or somehow detrimental, and start marvelling at the wonderful ways that people change as they become older … after all, “older” is often equivalent to “better” …
… can I ask why you stamp first? Would it work just to grab the outside template (frame), stick it down, then fit the stamp into the frame and pick it up with the lid from that position? I suppose I just wonder about the stamp being a bit distorted on the lid if you pick it up without fitting it into the frame before picking it up …
Funny i should check in to your video. I turned 75 in Jan and last year i found out, after lots of pain, that i have to have a hip replacement. But i am and feel so blessed that it isn't anything worse Yes, me too just want to grow old with dignity. Thank uou for repeating that tooà Love you in the red!!
I had a hip replacement last year and I'm sooooooo glad I did! I encourage everyone not to wait! My dread level was at a 10..but the actual procedure was a 2! It was an anterior approach (from the front) My mom had 3 (posterior approach from the back) starting in 1980 or so.. They were very difficult! Long recovery... So my experience with that made my dread level high! I waited almost a year.. So so so sorry I waited! Hope that encourages you!
Happy belated birthday to you and Dan both! I'm watching while I do my Dazzle Dry! I LOVE IT! Also, didn't Mae West say that getting old isn't for sissies? Thank you for the great card and for the laughs. xoxoxo
re: Can I just get older? At age 65, I asked my eye doctor, “Do I have to be corrected to 20/20? I just don’t think I’m supposed to screw my eyes tighter and tighter into my head every year.” He let me try it, and corrected my vision just to the point where I’m legal to drive (20/40, not 20/20). Over a few years, my natural vision improved from about 20/400 and 20/300 to about 20/300 and 20/200. That is a huge amount of relaxation for my eyes, and a great improvement in my vision. So yes, Can I just get older, and not fight it? It goes so much better to do that. P.S. As a crafter, I’m blessed with excellent near vision, about 20/10. I read label ingredients for all my friends 😉. But I think that my near vision works better in part because I don’t force my distance vision to correct to 20/20. Maybe more of us can try to ask for this with our eye doctors.
So sad to have missed this Live! I did go to UA-cam just before noon and only the other video showed. I figured that was it for the day (obviously I didn't check my emails! SMH!!!). Geeeeez ~ the way that I felt on the edge of my seat over how to lift/pour/heat (and many were commenting on), you'd think we were watching a suspenseful movie! LOL And then OMG - dying when the thanks flopped out. Oh gosh . . . I work remote and my neighbors are probably wondering WHAT in the WORLD I'm doing busting out laughing!! Laughing with you, not at you our friend. xox Definitely saving this video 1) for the technique and 2) for when I'm feeling glum. ☺
What a great start of my day to see you use my tip and mentioning me❤️. I don't tape my die cuts down before laying them in the mask, you don't need to. At least that is my experience. You could use some thicker cardstock to make your mask, so the die cut lies flat better. Think that will work for you. Just try. And I also would try to put Versamark on the die cut and gently pull them out of the mask. I don't think it will be harmed. But that one I never tried. Another fun video to watch. Happy (belated) birthday for Dan🎉 and you 🎉. I also love to age naturally. It gives your face character I think. Have a great day!
I’m watching this ‘not live’, and laughing hysterically at the part where you are embossing the thanks die. I can sooooo identify! Thank you for being one of us! 😘

Cathy it's so true. Aging is a privilege denied to many. My friend from school just passed away from breast cancer over the weekend. She was 36 years old 😢 Happiest birthdays to you and Dan! Live it up!!! P.s. my hubby's birthday is the 6th too! And my sister is the 8th like you. Mine is the 26th!!! March is such a busy month!!!

Yes, you could totally do that, too but i never get things lined up as well unless is stamp it down first.
I always have such a good time with you. I definitely can relate to the embossing powder all over the table.

Cathy, Your card today was lovely!
I’m watching this ‘not live’, and laughing hysterically at the part where you are embossing the thanks die. I can sooooo identify! Thank you for being one of us! 😘
Oh, I am still learning!
😂 You crack me up! You’re so fun to watch!
I love your rant about getting older and 100% agree!❤

@@czdesign thank you ❤️ I agree- March is the best! And that's not even half of them! I have another sister in March, an aunt, a cousin, my son, my stepdad etc etc etc LOL! Do you have a crafty mailing address? I'd love to send you a birthday card!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Hi I absolutely love this card cheers from Australia
Thanks so much!
Happy Birthday to your hubby
Happy birthday to you & Dan!
Thank you!
Talk about aging. I was impressed not only did you remember you have good temp tape, but where to find it as well. !!!!
That's a beautiful card!
Where have I been? I knew something was missing....the kicks from watching this channel. Like seriously!!! Kind Regards T
Welcome!
I agree with the birthday thing, this year my brother called to tell me Happy Birthday first thing in the morning and then said I have some sad news, I immediately knew that my sister in law passed that morning after a 30 year on/off battle with breast cancer, of course sadness quickly engulfed me but I then realized that Jill would want me to celebrate so this year and all of the coming years I will continue to celebrate Jill’s life and my birthday together, she definitely deserves a celebration each and every year
So sorry for your loss.
Awe, that is both heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. I am so sorry for your family. How wonderful to have been so loved.
Hey I see both you and ANNA herself cut into the magnet... I RARELY use this beautiful expensive empress due to the instructions NOT to ... but hey... I'm gonna... I'm just gonna... I'll use it all the time if I do... so yeah... you took me over... I figured ANNA did because hey it's hers right... but now I see YOU do also... so I'm gonna.... thanks.
Yeah, and Jennifer McGuire does too!
I do what you all do 😂🎉 hahaha thanks for being there... taking the danger out of my crafting journal. Hahaha
I’m with you Cathy. I am 66 and a grandmother. I actually like my gray/white hair, I do not need or want to color it. With all the other issues I have to deal with, wrinkles and gray hair did not even make the list.
Cathy you always make me smile ❤ wish we were neighbors. Oh my we would be in so much trouble ♥️
Beautiful card and great tips!
Thanks so much!
After it's been stamped, place the project on a craft stick with temporary glue to be hands off the project while using the heat tool
Hi Cathy! I do love your videos, and the card is lovely. Do you have a video where you review the Empress or show how to use it, etc.?
Not yet! I have been using mine now for oh… 6 to 7 months? And it's fantastic. I suppose now that I have been using it this long I could do a video!
Great job on the card.
Gorgeous card!
Happy birthday to Dan.
Happy Birthday! My birthday is the 10th so we have the 6th, 8th, n the 10th covered!
Happy birthday!

Oh, we have tornado siren tests every Wednesday. It’s winter now and there are no sirens. They just test sirens. That’s what you were hearing.
