Thanks for your excellent explanations! Seems like there would be some way of saving all your data and then restore it after the reboot... but I'm an old computer guy, can't believe JD would make you have to rebuild everything. You have amazing soil, is it iron that makes it red? And is that better for some crops than others? Thanks for showing the details! 1 more thought, can you take off the doors to get cooler air or does that really blast in the engine heat?
That particular day the computer erased all our lines, wiped clean. Our dirt here is mainly red clay. The stuff they make bricks out of. When its dry its as hard as bricks and when its wet it sticks to everything. Some people call it 30 minute dirt b/c you have a small window of time/moisture level when it can be worked. It does hold nutrients well though.
If you open the door (these tractors only have one) and rear window it will be very loud, hot, and dirty inside the cab, but yes it would create a draft.
A 8335 can pull a 12 row strip till 6.5 mph without problems in optimal conditions. In this video I was running in super red clay and pulling it about 15”-18” deep. I was only able to average 4.5-5 mph. The redder the dirt the harder it is to pull.
I’d rather be on a cabless tractor than a cab tractor with no air conditioning 😂 probably gonna go film some transplanting tomorrow given the weather holds up
I film some of my clips with my iphone. Your drone will get some awesome shots, but you need to film some up close with something. Film as many angles as you can think of. 30 second clips are plenty long enough unless you are talking trying to explain something in depth
@@PatrickShivers I’ll try to do that. The drone controller isn’t working right so that may not be possible to fly it. Bout my luck lol. Gonna try to get it going right and get them though
@@PatrickShivers I filmed about 8 minutes of video. It’s not too in depth but I’m gonna edit it and post it. I’m probably gonna go video more tomorrow and I’ll try to get more in depth
Be relaxed in your video and talk to your camera as if it is a guy your age standing there and you’re trying to explain to him what is being done. Don’t try to be perfect, just be yourself.
They have nearly monopolized the American tractor market. I have to drive 1 hour and twenty minutes to get to the nearest non john deere tractor dealer. There is 12-15 John Deere dealers inside that distance
We run a 8R280, a 8285R, a 8270R, a 6155R and a 6150R. The newest is 2 years old and the oldest is 11 years old and we have had no problems so far. Maybe just luck, I don't know. I do know that the R series with DEF and re-gen has nowhere near the power of our old 8420, 8400, or 4955
first video of yours ive seen, top notch commentary. keep it up
Thanks!

Would it be cooler in the cab if the windows were tinted?
That would definitely help out with greenhouse effect, but it wouldn’t do much to stop the 300hp heater that the cab is mounted on
Awesome
How deep are the shank going in thanks
@@ClevelandBaldwin-w2n I always target 15”-18” on any shank (subsoiler, strip till, bedder)

Is that 12 row ripper putting a strain in that 8335?

@@PatrickShivers I’ll do my best. Got my drone going today so I’m about to go film with it and then I’ll get the video up as soon as I can
Here on YT i see loud american farmers complaining about the JD they are riding. Why do you all buy them?????????
