Listen to the album: • Taylor Swift - Fortnig...
Listen to the song: • Taylor Swift - So Hig...
Alright sir let’s see you beat a 300+ mil release day streaming record with your voice and poetry 😢 Womp womp
Lmao popularity doesn't mean shit
Do you think the CEO of McDonalds says things like this to food critics?
He praises Taylor quite a bit- I’m a swiftie and I love this album but everyone is entitled to their opinions on things! He just doesn’t like this one album haha
Why is it impossible for Swifties to allow Taylor to get bad reviews? Y'all are weird
numbers equal quality now. Swifties are truly brain dead
You know it's bad because Ruff is a pretty positive guy and rarely trashes things
Best negative Ruff review is his Revival review
You better shut up.
Ruff is always nice lol. Literally probably too soft as a reviewer. He still gets called a "hater" and fake for criticizing Taylor super briefly. Fans of billionaires are the worst thing about the modern world.
I really am soft, I’m look for the positives in every album I review! This one had very few positives for me, that says a lot
As someone who usually loves Taylors Swifts music.. yeah the second half of the album didn't need to exist when it all sounds the same
can u provide the title of the songs that sounds the same?
The genre of the second half of the album is piano ballad
Yeah, I like the first half more. Though I would keep The Manuscript (which is also the bonus track annouced with the original track list; before the other variants) and Cassandra from The Anthology.
that's how I feel about the first half.
the anthologies has evermore-level songs (the prophecy, the bolter, the black dog, cassandra ) if you actually give it a chance
@@taylorswiftisgirlboss5062 I could. But ultimately, I'm allowed to have a different opinion than you, and us arguing about whether or not the songs sound the same isn't going to do anything but annoy us both.
I actually preferred the second half over the first (which is different for me because I usually get really bored with slow sad music) but that’s just me lol
So many worthwhile songs in there. Yall are missing out
Glazing
idk i’m a swiftie and there’s a little less than “so many” 😭
@@krunkformula help lol they just said there are good songs in the album?? i dont get it
The only one I'd really go hard for is The Albertross, feels like a forgotten cut off evermore and is quite nice, like a lullaby. The other tracks? Not so much @@alzzzzstar
Tortured listeners department
😂
😂😂
I’ll stick to Folklore and Evermore instead.
I really liked the album and I never listened to any of her other works, so maybe I have fresh eyes due to unfamiliarity with her previous work.
if you liked ttpd you should really listen to evermore and folklore
Buh- but you just need to buy all 400+ vinyl variants to truly understand it, duh 🥺🥺
I blame the production in all honesty. Antonoff and Dessner has some interesting things going on, but they just never push the songs just enough to make them distinct. That said, Swift most definitely had a large say to how things turned out, so it's her fault ("vision") just the same.
TTPD was hella consistent though. Whether anyone sees quality in it or not, it IS consistent heh
This album better not win a Grammy
I actually really love this album but all the critiques are 100% valid because what are some of these lyrics? 😭
Swift writes better as an underdog. Perhaps the asylum she was raised in gave her too big a case of Main Character Syndrome and now it's affecting the quality of her work. 😢
The anthology is such a good album, it has great lyrics and production similar to folklore or evermore but I’ll say she definitely made it for her and the fans so not everyone is gonna get it
Real, except I don’t like the excuse you gave. I js think that’s a very exclusionary statement to say, cause my brother who’s a swift hater, say it was like an 8. I js think, some people js don’t like it.
Funnily enough, I think she just made this for her self. A lot of these songs don't even feel like they're for the fans, BUT they do feel relevant to perceive Swift as a character undergoing the many stuff in the album.
I guess if you're invested in her character, it's a damn great perspective. I much prefer to how she handled lyrics cleverly during her folklore/evermore series.
Donda for white girls
You lowkey spitting
why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?
Both fanbases are full of white supremacists tbh
I sat through all 122 minutes of this across 3 days. I refuse to let those 2 horrible hours go to waste, I WILL make content about this ultra-bloated mess
It is absolutely insane how popular this mid-ness is. Like it’s possibly going to set all time sales records. She’s in a place like Eminem where she could literally record herself burping into the mic for 40 minutes and it would sell like gangbusters smh. That cult of personality stuff is real with this woman lol
@@chiarosuburekeni9325 I would prefer listen to her farts
I told my Swiftie friend, “It’s decent but it’s - little too similar to Midnights for me”, to which he said “well, what about folklore / evermore?!” But, like, folklore / evemore came in rapid succession in 2020 when nothing was happening in the world. Between Midnight and TTPD, she had a whole world-shifting culture-resetting world tour, so I honestly think it’s a little fair to expect more from her this time around.
And honestly the songs on folklore and evermore have very refreshing sounds. Like i could differentiate the songs sonically when I had only heard them once. TTPD did not feel sonically diverse enough for me to recollect after a brief listen. The Fortnight song i remember because it keeps popping up while I scroll through reels lol
Here come the Swifties with torches and pitchforks 😂😂😂
I don’t see a single one mad swifty in the comments man what r u on 😭💀
@@doierry772
Literally the pinned comment and the replies
@doierry772 read the comments again lol
finally people who agree! i'm sooo disappointed. i liked a lot of songs from taylor's previous albums but this album was just so boring to me. also it seems to me that she was just trying to prove a point: she was right for ditching her ex (who was such a bad man and a liar etc etc etc!!!😢😢😓😞💔) and so right for choosing mr. kelce like they have so much chemistry 😍😍😍 they fit so right together yes!!!
that's the narrative she was pushing (or at least that's what i get when listening to the album) and it's annoying to be honest. like we were all there when you wrote these sweet love songs songs about joe lol and we remember.
i feel like they (taylor and jack) were trying to do an album similar to what lana does (slow, emotional, intimate), but it didn't work at all. it was bland and boring.
i listened to it 1 time, only liked the track loml, then the day after i listened to the songs from The anthology (long version) and i stopped at imgonnagetyouback because wtf is this cheap and boring version of get him back by olivia rodrigo 😐
sorry for the rant
All rants are welcome, thanks for sharing! As someone who usually does like her music, I’m very disappointed in this one
I will say, the first time I listened to it, I wasn’t sure how I felt about everything, but I’ve listened a few more times now and I feel like it really grows on you
How did you get that narrative when there's only 2 songs about Travis and maybe 4 out of 31 about Joe?
@@emmabetty8391 yes, i'm sure if i relisten to it in a few months would be different, it does that a lot of times
Personally I quite enjoyed this album, but I understand your disdain for it. The songs' production can sound monotonous, and Taylor Swift is certainly not the first person that springs to mind when I think of the phrase "tortured poet."
this is your best one yet
The only thing getting tortured is me listening to the record
wrdgaf
don't listen then and keep the bs to yourself
ending crawl is such a bar
Rolling Stone : 100/100
Ruff Criminal : 😭💔
I haven’t listened to the record yet, but I’m a music teacher and a lot of my students are swifties. Seems like no one’s really a big fan of this one across the board
well. the young swifties not ready yet for this.
might be in your prime
There are only 5 to 7 good tracks out of 31 on this album.
here before this gets blown up by swifties
Was travis kelce still ghostwriting for the anthology? 🤔
what? travis kelce did NEVER write you mean joe? and no he is not.
I almost screamedy head off. Damn, the album is that bad?
For me, yes! And I like most of her albums!
half of this review is you saying the name of the album
Yes
i feel like you might be new here
Lol....
Um ok. You guys know that all of evermore and folklore sound the same. It’s called a genre and a similar theme.
The difference is those albums were good! Hope this helps!
L take. couldn’t be me.
FIRSt!
This album is her best work..but hey hating on Taylor Swift is cool right..
i love her but this album is not her best work..but hey anyone can have opinions, right?
OOOOOOF, landed in the doofus hater corner, bye
Or it's just bad and we aren't cult members
@@krunkformula all 31 songs? Yeah sounds like a hater
@thisismetrying17 It is possible for someone to dislike every song on an album, yes
@@envan7865 if someone dislikes all 31 songs, they are probably biased....
@thisismetrying17 the fact the album has 31 songs is a problem unless at least 25 of them are good. It's a bloated mess of an album and a few good songs does not save it
..I will find you
hating on Taylor in 2024? bro we can tell your hungry bffr
Critiquing her work ≠ hating on her, Swifties stop taking everything personally challenge go
@@deadlypotatoes1839 that isn’t even a valid critic, they just said it’s trash, it’s does not say how they can improve their worked so they r basically just trash talking, don’t comment if you don’t know abt it.
@@nookietp I said critique, not constructive critique lol. People can just say they don’t like something and that’s fine. That’s not commenting on them as a person. And it’s not something you need to take personally on behalf of someone who doesn’t know you exist and isn’t emotionally/materially affected by it in any way.
