Competitive Pokemon Singles has now peaked with the beginning of Jimvitational. An incredible invite-only Gen 3 OU tournament featuring the best of the best.
Who is the best in ADV OU? Who will utilize Skarmory, Tyranitar or even Camerupt? Some will never figure all that out.

What happened?
Heracross has invaded my home
I heard the sounds of munching from my closet and opened it to find that the beetle had grown enormous.While I would normally check him,since weeks of training had altered my body making me a fighting type,unfortunately a dastardly Jirachi had crippled me with his mental powers,leaving me in range for the ohko. “This is insane!” I cried, before being instantly killed by a Swarm-boosted Megahorn.
That game was so funny. First they played for hours. Then HumYumm suddenly forfeits saying 'fuck stall' and wins in 5 turns like a Gigachad. I love it!
Gengar destiny bond was the greatest play that didn’t even matter
i swear. and then red lets the jirachi live when it should have been done for the game and then she forfeits. at least she cleaned up to finish
Did you check out round 2 jimvitatipnals play in kenix vs leo? Ttar did a focus punch with lum reading spore from breloomand still lost that game

Game 2 was full of throws holy shit. And I will never understand bringing the same exact team 3 times in a row. Presumably redless has other teams in the builder unless they were on mobile and just built one they could remember quickly.
Nothing wrong with bringing the same team over and over again, provided it isn't as easy and simple to counter like this.
@@yourdagan that’s fair. Or if you don’t reveal it all in the first game. Even just bringing the same 6 but with different sets could really have fucked with HY in g3
As much as we had a seasoned competitor here, people often do get in the ladder mindset where changing doesn't occur
You like tyranitar because he is strong and flexible, I like tyranitar because I hate stall. We are not the same.

Can't think of a game in recent memory in which someone so clearly deserved the win as much as HumYumm did here.

Game 3, while it was affected by bad luck---and, while I very much respect sticking to one's team---does nevertheless demonstrate the importance of knowing one's weaknesses.
If you always bring Skarmory, and with no Magneton mitigation, that's an invitation for your opponent to bring Magneton. And if you always bring stall, that's an invitation for your opponent to bring the stall-killer, Heracross.
If you think your team is good enough to spam shamelessly, make certain there are very few ways opponents can exploit knowing exactly what it is and that they can count on you bringing it. The measure of a truly great team is the nigh impossibility of truly counterteaming it, like what basically happened with here.

I really dont get why the commentators think that Redless was favored in game 1 when the time out happend. Blissey can freely click icebeam and the curse swampert is a very strong win condition
Because Humyum has limited ways to make progress. Blissey doesn't have the power to break through Zapdos without hax and Pert is exploitable with rest, and Yama can knock off leftovers which is massive. Claydol also can break through a resting Pert and prevent a sleep turn with boom. The Salamence, Humyum's best form of progress, cannot switch in ever, and even if it does it can only click 1 move, so it doesn't meaningfully threaten anything. Humyum can win, but she needs to get lucky and get a few reads, while Redless just needs to not make a mistake and he'll most likely win.

wraxius did a great job commentating, loved watching this match. that timeout was really unfortunate in game one, losing a game to internet troubles is always terrible

We didn't delete any. UA-cam possibly filtered some out.
There's already quite a few that get autofiltered, and others that you can only see while sorting by "new". Idk what the deal is with that but it's been happening for a while now.

She did fine on commentary and while the intro was kinda cringe maybe it was her first time recording smth in awhile or she was stressed and she said smth awkward,

@@varogoth in a part of this cut intro she introduced herself as a girl and in a comment that was deleted she confirmed she was indeed a trans girl

BKC makes a video, and now everyone says "the second layer isn't valuable".
I mean its true though, at least compared to 1/3.
I mean. You could choose to make a second layer or use Roar. Even if Skarm is almost gone, with lefties and Protect it can get back if the proper switches are made for it to get chip healing. And then Skarm could have the chance to now make the second and third layer.

We wouldn't it he wasn't right, tbh, the second spike's reward is much less impactful than either spikes existing and Blissey being unable to do it's job.
I didn't like Game 2. It was frustrating watching it extend far past what it should have been because of questionable plays.
