So at 20:00 they are talking about airborne school at Ft. Benning, GA. I went through this class in 1990 & passed easily. Maybe it's an Army thing, but three week Airborne School was easy. But I admit that PLF training puts a hurting on you.
The disassembly and reassembly was fun. Times 20 minutes, the m9, m240, m2hb, m4, and m500, were put in a bucket. You then got to reassemble and function check them all.

The Submarine Qualification Board is along the same lines, and if you are NOT liked, that Qual Board can be 10-12 hours long or more. Most Qual Boards are probably 4 hours in length. UDT Shorts...ROTFLMAO. The "Ships Diver" on my last boat loved wearing UDT Shorts and jungle combat boots with his socks rolled over the top. He WANTED to go to BUD/S but our rating (NEC) was a critical rating and BUPERS would not allow him to go.
Not sure if Trevor will see this, but I am trying to better understand SDV Teams. Is it fair to say that SDV is made up of the most Elite Smurf Boat Crews at the start of the pipeline ? (obviously a 7ft guy can't fit in a mini sub, no offense meant). Do the SDV Teams actually deploy IN the SDVs ? or do they simply maintain and supply them to other teams ? Are the SDV Team guys the actual underwater Ninjas or the guys that simply make the magic possible ? If you are of smaller stature, and pass BUDs, are you a shoe-in for SDV Team placement ? (I notice Shawn Ryan was never an SDV Team guy, so I was just wondering). Trevor, anything you can do to clarify things if you read this would be cool. Cheers.
